Its sad to say, but Jay Fiedler has been the best Dolphin QB of the Post-Marino era..

While Fiedler had a noodle arm, at least he had some accuracy..

Griese just didnt pan out here for whatever reason, probably Wanny's wretched system..

Feeley, I still say he never really got a fair shake here, but he was prone to an assload of pick 6s.. BUT, he had accuracy.. He could hit receivers in stride and actually score TDs..

Frerotte, The most innacurate QB I have EVER seen play.. Just terrible.. I was at the game today, and he probably had maybe 3 good throws all game..

Lucas, speaks for himself..

Its time for Sage to FINALLY get his chance..

Sorta agree with you, BUT I'd rather have an inaccurate QB than one who throws a pick 6 the other way on a routine basis.

At least Feeley could make up for that by throwing a TD to negate that... I dont think Frerotte could successfully complete a pass to the Jolly Green Giant.

This is a great thread. GUS is terrible. I have been a Fin fan forever. GUS is by far the worst other than Lucas. If Saban keeps playing him then he is terrible as well. I would like to know where this "mental toughness" is that Saban speaks so highly of. He needs to get some mental toughness and bench Frerotte's sorry butt.

IT IS PAST TIME FOR A QB CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And this "We want everybody to hate playing us" quote from Mr. Saban is just the opposite. I believe the players played great for Bates last year. The players loved him and wanted him to be the coach. We beat the Patriots last year. We will get drilled by them both times this year.

JIM BATES SHOULD BE THE COACH RIGHT NOW. We probably wouldn't have Ricky but by gosh we definitely would not have GUS right now. Feeley would be playing his heart out right now and having a great year. We screwed up by not giving the coaching job to BATES. But oh well he is in Green Bay now and they will win their division wait and see.

Not hitting anything is better than hitting the opponents for a TD.

No its not. Ask Dan Marino. At least if you can hit people, you have the ability to make up for your mistakes.

but one thing is having the ability and other is ACTUALLY USING IT.

Anyways ....

I think they both suck .... One guy just lack the most important thing to have as a QB and the other never heard of the word accuracy.

Feeley couldn't hit people, that's why he's been backing up bad QBs since college. Also throwing 4 yards at time doesn't qualify as hitting, it's more like an extended handing off.

Feeley did occasionally.. The Arizona game for instance, he came back and put the team on top, but the secondary collapsed and that was it.. He also didnt have a really stable system to do that with any consistency.. That being said, he is gone and he failed here.. But, in my rankings, I would put his performances above Frerottes.. It is just simply beyond frustrating to watch a game in which every pass is either 10 yards in front of the receiver or in the ground..

One thing Feeley had was accuracy.. Maybe you were too blinded by the "OMGZORS PICK SIX" syndrome to see that.. He could throw some deadly accurate strikes downfield.. His thing was that when he got pressured, whcih was basically every play, he would crumble, panic and throw the ball up for grabs..

Word....

I don't understand how can Saban not think the problem is Gus.THe game should have a lot closer with any average QB performing.

You have to be kidding me. The guy was allergic to throwing downfield, something pretty common among Tedford QBs. He has a single long pass and that was against NE. Trust me, if Feeley could throw downfield, he would have beaten out Gus from day one. It's the only reason Gus is starting, because he has the nuts to throw it down field.
