Fiedler should have atleast started the 2nd half

I think the dolphins and wanny wanted to start feeley to begin with but thought fiedler was the safer choice atleast for the opener, when fiedler made the coaches decision backfire in there face it was evident that it was time for feeley b/c fiedler's experience and familar with the offence did not help the team once how ever. I think the decision to pull fiedler shows how close the qb competion really was.

Pretty bad, when once again DW said JF was playing the best he has ever played since arriving in Miami.

I have always supported Wanny, but benching Fiedler was the worst thing the team could have had.
Have you seen the game? JF looked done at half. His confidence was shot.

Yeap, they were the only team in the NFL to sign players this week.

We were never in the game with Feidler. The one good drive he killed it by throwing the pick in the end zone. That basically deflated what momentum we had. He should have started the 3rd, I agree, but on a very, very short leash.
5/13 2 ints 1 fumble 53 yards in the first half after 4 years of "knowing the offense" and he should have started the 3rd quarter "on a very short leash"? good god you pepole kill me with your loyalty to this clown. what is it going to take for you pepole?? i cant believe some off the crap i read on here. start the 3rd quarter? this guy should have never started this game for christs sake!!

Dude, JF has had FOUR years to show what he can do, the first half he didnt show us anything out of the ordinary of JF. Most teams wouldve give their QBs FOUR years to show them otherwise. Most QBs get a season or two, not Fi-Fi. FOUR years man. Why should he have started the 2nd half? What would the difference have been? What has JF done thats soooo great, at this game at least, that he shouldve started the 2nd half? What once of positiveness did he show during the 1st half that warranted a start for the second?

Even Wanny knew it was time to bench Fiedler. Get over it guys.

yes you are correct but does he understand that it is time to KEEP his a$$ on the bench is the burning :fire: question in my mind.

Fidler is not a good enough player to be starting in this league, the one thing we no we have in Fiedler is he will throw INT's and overthrows. Yes he has nice games, but they are few and far between. Ever notice we get "his" win/loss record shoved down our throats? Jay's record is so good because of the team not Jay! When AJ was in the game the ball was moved and we started to threaten to score and AJ has only been with the team for what 6/7 months if that, Jay has been with this team for five years and he should have played better but he struggled, why? Jay is an NFL veteran with a team he's been with for five years, maybe some new faces but he should have been very comfortable out there.

The fact is Jay has no more excuses period!!! He should have played better, smarter football thats why he was given the chance to start and a third string QB from another team came into " " Jays house, and out played him and you notice when the D struggled Jay did not win the game for this team, but AJ almost did!

AJ simply has shown more at this point, If you are a fan and think otherwise then your just plane looking at only Jays snaps, because AJ has made better throws and moved this team better. Look it's gotta happen sooner or later, AJ is a good enough QB that if the line starts to come together and play solid...not great, but solid then we could actualy stand a chance to get deep into the playoffs. That is all this team has been missing the last few years solid QB play and AJ is ligit when it comes to giving this team a realistic chance. Like someone said today after the game it's time to turn the page.

If a baseball pitcher gave up 4 home runs in 5 pitches, you can bet the manager would yank him at the first opportunity.

That's what Fiedler did today. In five snaps, he threw 2 interceptions, fumbled, and had another pass intercepted out of bounds.

If Fiedler would have gone out for the second half, the final score would have been 35-0 because the defense would have quit even earlier than they did.

Feidler has started for four years. He did not play better today, the start of the regular season, then he has in his Dolphins tenure. He is inconsitent and lacks the arm to be our QB. He needs a west coast Gruden offense, short passing and a lot of play action and scrambling. We need a gun for an arm and the ability to escape the pocket and rifle the ball. Feeley.

If Feeley was truly hands down better with what we have invested in him then he would have been starting.

Only down 7-0. That is hardly panic time. Last year against the Titans we were down 21-0 at half and Griese remained in the game after INTS and Fumbles. Sage didn't get a shot.

This team truly is the laughing stock of the league but I still LOVE THEM

i kinda agree with you. how many times have we seen him play horrible, but the d keep us in it, and jay does something at the end to help the team win? i think subbing aj in hurt both qbs. aj came in without being able to establish a rythym and it cost the team big time with his pick. by the time he got comfortable, miami was down 17-0. but that's wanny for you-he should have named a guy and stuck with him for this week at least.

What would have been the point of Fiedler playing the second half? He had a QB rating of EIGHT!!! It was absolutely the worst performance I have seen from a Dolphin quarterback. I almost regret staying in town for the game, even though I expected this with Jay starting. AJ is not a great quarterback, but he at least can THROW the ball without telegraphing his intent an hour before the ball arrives.
We are the only team in the league with THREE 3rd string QB's. Dumbstache needs to get out of Miami...

Ears has started for FOUR years actually. Today was the WORST game he has had by far since high school.:fire:

I'm sorry but Ears didn't do anything to justify starting 2nd qt. And I said it earlier this reminds me of when Danny replaced Woodley. Yeah Marino came in for Woodley and we still lost and the next game too if I remember right but the offense looked so much better with him in there.

I think and hope Feeley turns out the same way. Because I don't want Wanny ghoing back to Ears and the same old pathetic offense.

Like I said, everthing is 20/20 in hindsight...we probably should have started Feeley.
I wasn't mad about Fiedler being the starter for the 1st game based on what I saw in the preseason....I will be made mad if he's the starter for the 2nd game.

Why don't you coach the Dolphins? With a genius like you at the helms, I'm sure they would win every game. Good point there chief.

I haven't got to see the game yet I listened to it on the radio. I will watch it tomorrow. I can only go by what Howard and Mad Dog said. They way they talked was that Jay's confidence was shot and when Feely came in you could see the difference in the O and to me by the way they played there was a difference.I am upset about this loss. We really needed to win this one. We missed the playoffs last year because of our AFC record. However, I don't see any reason to panic. We had 9 guys on O that didn't play with us last year. I believe after a good week of practice with Gordon having more than a day with the O and A.J getting the snaps with the first team it will be a different team.Guys we didn't lose to the Chargers we lost to a team that beat us 31-7 last year and went 14-2. We will be fine.
