Lets get a few quick facts out of the way...
Preseason means nothing

Jay Fiedler knows the deep dark secrets of voodoo magic.

The QB struggle has not been to replace the Great Dan Marino, but to replace the Adequate Jay Fiedler.

First it was Ray Lucas. Who made us miss Jay Fiedler.

Then Wannstedt tried Griese, but he got hurt and Fiedler won by default. Griese got a shot, and he made us miss Jay Fiedler.

Wannstedt, primarily due to his loyalty to Fiedler, was stripped of final say on personnel. Spielman was given a mandate to find a QB.

The Dolphins wera all set to land Brunell after JAX cut him but then Danny Snyder f'ed the whole thing up by laying out a 2nd rounder and 30M.
Philip Rivers was projected as a late first round pick. One of the few things Dan Marino did in his new job was to go to the Senior Bowl and rave about Rivers. Rivers, perhaps emboldened by such a vote of confidence by the Greatest QB ever to play the game, played lights out football and moved up 20 spots on every teams draft board.

Desperation set in.
Fiedler needed to be replaced. Feeley was a promising young QB behind a perennial Pro Bowler. We overpaid for him. Not as much as the Redskins overpaid for Brunell. But we overpaid. No way around it. But whether he came in for a 1st or a 7th, we wanted him to replace Fiedler.

Something had to be done to combat his voodoo magic grip on the starting QB position. And for a few months it finally looked possible. Fiedler was to be a June 1st cut. But those evil voodoo forces couldn't be denied forever and Fiedler reworked his contract to remain a Dolphin curse.

Wannstedt let them battle it out in training camp and us Dolfans new what the ending of that story would be. Because of his heavy marijuana use Ricky was in tune to this voodoo magic and decided to walk away from the team. All the reasons he gave are best summarized as "Bad vibes, man. Bad vibes." He knew Feeley had no shot. He knew Fiedler was some magic man. Thus Ricky's fascination with the number 9.

Feeley remained in Wannstedt's doghouse and it wasn't until Wanny finally resigned and Fiedlers spine sidelined him that we were able to get a glimpse of some of the potential that AJ has. The only reason that I know that AJ doesn't suck is because of that monday night game against the Pats. The Pats just don't get beaten by QB's that suck. And AJ beat them that night. Granted I still question the wisdom of throwing two straight passes to Derrius Thompson with the game on the line, but AJ must have known the boy was due.
Just as we are due to get over the voodoo hex that Jay Fiedler has been putting on the Dolphins since Marino's last game against the Jags. Just so Fiedler could get some national face time before free agency. Come on 62-7. That's some voodoo s**t right there. He voodooed Huard in that first training camp. He's voodooing Pennington right now.

Hopefully by the start of the regular season the last lingering effects Fiedlers voodoo hex on the Dolphins QB position will be gone. Us Dolphins fans can suffer through at least that. Don't forget, preseason means nothing anyway.

nice thread man, interesting spin with the magic man stuff. but for the most part, you're right. AJ's never even had a shot. He was named the starter once Wanny left, and they won a few games, as opposed to the ones they lost earlier in the year (some his fault, some fiedlers)

The guy hasnt even had an entire season of play as a starter, and everyones expecting him to be god. What about Brees? Took him a few years of adjusting and warming up before he had one helluva year. But you fans dont want adjustment. You want your quarterback to be hot now. Well, sorry everyone but unless we drive to Indianapolis and kidnap Peyton, theres going to be some inconsistencies. This week its AJ. Next week its Gus. Two weeks, lets try Berlin, but all of it comes down to none of these players are 1st rounders because they never PLAYED as first rounders. End of story.

Wow..I'm laughing so hard that tears are coming out of my eyes..I get it now, I always thought it was something with Fiedler..So, it was VOOOODDDOOOOO all along..

hahah yea I wonder if any Dolphin player has a user name on finheaven???
