...Last season, Fiedler owned a 23.6 passer rating in the 4th quarter of games, one of the worst in the NFL. And when his team was down by more than 10 points, his rating was 27.0, last in the league. ...

ouch

One 'Miami insider' goes on to say that "I think we all knew what we had with Jay"

and this clod was wanting to stay in the game against the titans to make sumin happen. well i guess a 27 is better than a 8 rating huh??

I've been posting that stat all the time.

It's nothing new, we all know fiedler is a terrible qb when playing from behind because he actually has to throw the ball and not just hand it off to the runningback

And Feeley is now starting. Whats the problem?

I bet Fielder would love to have that rating of 27.0.

Shoot right now he is sitting on 8.0. :shakeno:

man, you guys kick a dog when there down. If Fiedler tore it up the other day, we'd be hearing a different story. I think Jay should be starting but I support A.J. because he is our starter (for now).

Jays Performance in 2002

What was QB rating the two previous years in the 4th when he had a line that could block and we could run the ball?

Not exactly the 4th Quarter 2002, but this is a small snippet in the difference of Jay's performance between the first 2 quarter of games and the last 2 quarters. You can read my whole post in the link bellow.

"His QBR in his 1st half of games 2002 was 99.8%, all 10 games started.
In his 2nd half of games, his QBR was 68.6% though better than 2003 stats, their still a large variance.
This OL did very well, giving JF very good QBR #s at the half. But, this variance of 30 points in both years, still show the trend, of his below average performance in the 2nd half, even with a solid OL.

I also looked to see if, their was significant difference before and after his thumb injury in 2002, while analyzing his 1st and 2nd half stats, and here is something that was definitely noticeable.
He had a better performance, 106.9% QBR in the 1st half of the final 4 games in 2002, returning form injury, than in the 1st half of the 1st 6 games of that season.

But we lost the last 2 games in that month, why? His performance again went south, with a QBR in the 2nd half of those games, of 55.5%."

I can recall only one game in the last 2 years that Jay "tore it up." True if he did, we would be saying different things, but fact is he doesn't and 95% of the time he won't tear it up. Sure, he has had times where he has played steady and he has won alot of games for us in the 4th. That said, he has also lost alot of games in the 4th by throwing the big interception or fumbling.

Wow... you guys won't stop will you? Fiedler is on the bench now and you STILL throw **** at him.

Thanks. So it was much better than last year but I agree that a big drop in rating between first and second halfs games is distrubing. I mean I would expect a drop in rating from every QB just based on Defense adjustments and having to either catch up or defend a lead. But that is a big drop.

I think it's because the more I think about it the more upset I get. Steve Young pointed out Sunday that if Wanne goes, it will be for the same reason he was fired from Chicago. "not getting the QB position right'. Looking back at the Wanne era, he's absoultely right. This great Dolphin D was pissed away the moment Wanne pinned his hopes to Jay. (hey, that rhymes).

Looking forward to starting the Feeley Era Sunday. ;)
