No I am not saying lets burry our GM and Owner...
I would just like to know who are targeting for the holes that we have right now with FA's. Seems like most of our FA time has been spent chasing QB's around the country. While I know so many guys like to say we build through the draft. But this team has some holes that need to be filled before the draft.
Offense:
WR - We have some average to good WR's on the team. But we do not have a true #1 or #2 option at this point. I don't see much left on the Free Agent Market at this time. So maybe the draft will have a good #2 option. It would not be the 1st time that Miami has a #2 or #3 trying to be a #1 WR. Let's just hope next time we get a #1 WR, we don't trade him for (2) 3rd round picks.
TE - Fasano has been up and down. Never a stellar receiver option that can take over games. I think he is good for the team, but better suited in (2) TE sets. Miami needs a TE that can bust up the middle of the field and the seam routes. The FA's again are not looking to good at this point. So the draft could be the answer if we get lucky...lol.
LG, RG, RT - I think we still need 3 out of the 5 starters for the OL. Maybe Carey will sign for less after testing Free Agency. Miami could end up taking best possible player with the #8 overall pick. The GM would see it as a safe bet and afer the last 2 seasons of being the punchline to a joke, maybe that would be a good thing. But that still leaves at least a RT or RG that needs a better starter. So Miami will have to work some magic to get the OL ready for the season.
HB - Bush has a big heart. But he cannot pound it up the middle all season and still be there at the end of the season ready to play. Thomas could improve and change my mind on him. But right now... He reminds me of a lesser version of Ronnie Brown. Slaton is a nice change of pace type back that might also help us out on special teams. Miami should look to the later rounds of the draft for a HB and hope they hit gold.
QB - I think they should stick with Moore at this point. We chased Manning and only looked silly in the end. Both of the Top 2 prospects will be long gone by our pick. Tannehill has potential, but do you really want to use the #8 on him? Miami could end up with the #1- #12 pick next season. I like our chances next year on trading up or just staying put and drafting a QB. Sure they will be more teams looking to try again at the QB position. But most of them should be picking behind us..lol.
So what options do you guys see in the Free Agent pool right now to help us on offense?
...
Defense:
DE - DE: Miami could be swithing to a 4-3 a little bit more. I think we should have signed Langford to a new deal b/c he can play 3-4 DE and/or 4-3 DT. But that did not happen and the Fins look to the Free Agents and Draft to fix their DE needs. We need (2) DE's that can get to the QB. Right now our DE's are better suited for stuffing the run on the edge. That has to change b/c I do not see Soliai turning into Warren Sapp..lol. I think Miami will sign a Pass Rusher type DE that is a vet, but not very good for every down from the Free Agent class. Then draft a DE early in the draft to help Wake.
LB - Wake will be moving more to the DE spot and that leaves us with Misi who has never really made you think...damn he can play. So we pretty much need to overhaul our LB's. Dansby is the really the only good LB we have once Wake puts his hand in the dirt. We could end up drafting a LB early in the draft. But I think they will sign a vet after the draft and more cuts.
CB - Not gonna lie... I think Miami has (2) solid CB's. But the league today requires that you have at least 3 solid CB's. Between injuries and spread attacks in the NFL it only makes sense. Marshall could end up being a very good player for us or just another vet player that takes up salary and makes us pass early on good CB's in the draft. Yeah... kinda bummed b/c I think Miami will not get J. Hosley early in the draft after signing Marshall. I was hoping that Marshall was signed to be a FS/CB type player. Either way Miami will need to improve the CB depth with at least 1 more player.
FS - I like the idea of Reggie Nelson, but apparently Miami does not... who would have guessed. I don't think Clemons is the end of the world b/c he makes very few mistakes. But he is not a threat to pick off a pass and we have plenty of those guys playing CB. I am a fan of Jones but think he is much better suited for SS. I hope to see Miami find a way to sign Nelson or draft a good FS for the future.
SS - Bell is getting long in the tooth and could lose a step... I wanted Miami to sign Laron Landry and restructure Bell. That way we would have had a good back-up ready to start if Landry went down with another injury. But just like with Nelson...it appears that Miami does not want him. But it sure is fun to read that the Jets and Pats are looking at both players...lol. I hope they sign with other teams and I don't have to see them twice a year after hoping to see us sign at least one of them.

...
Does not look pretty right now for Miami. It is like we have a blackeye, but worse... It's like a woman knocked us out and all of our friends just laughed and carried her off on their shoulders..lol.
Don't have much hope for this coming season, other than the thought that Moore will do well with no WR's or TE. Our defense will help us win a few games and be on the losing end of playing great only to see our offense punt most of the game.
