Hello every one, i'm not sure is this would be the right section to ask, but i would like to know if anyone would be intrested in supporting a fellow fin fan from connectictut in tour de cure for diabetes. My wife has type 1 diabetes since she was 3, and im sure everyone here knows or has someone in there family that has this disease wether it be type 1 like my wife or type 2 like my father. I have enrolled to do 50 miles on bike, may i add its a mountain bike which i would certainly earn any donation given. However there is a catch if i can raise 1500.00 thru friends, family, co-workers and finheads like me, i will do the full tour 100 miles, which will probaly take about 4 to 5 hours. Any donation will be greatly appreciated! and of course its always tax deductable, and its very easy to donate by visiting this website http://main.diabetes.org/goto/Carmelo.Signorello I would like to thank everyone in advance for helping out.

Yeah! My man! I will look into and see what I can do. My father died from diabetes almost 4 yrs ago. It was a very drawn out, horrible death, sorry to be depressing, he didn't take good care of himself. Several others on his side have had it. I'm so paranoid that I might get it. I need to take better care of myself. It's horrible with all the hospitals being over crowded with diabetes patients, all the fast food being thrown in your face with advertising and cheap prices and all the corn syrup in so many foods. Things must change. Best wishes to you and your wife. I feel for you. Good luck! Good cause!

I have it and have developed major problems with my feet. They constantly break and have become deformed. This disease sucks big time.

My mom has severe diabetes and it is very prevalent on her side of the family. It will be a complete miracle if I don't end up a diabetic.

I definitly agree my wife has had almost all her life and she gave her parents a world of scares not to mention myself a scare, she was low one morning and it was like she was a baby not talking she coundnt even eat the cereal she had the spoon upside down, scard the hell out of me, but i called her Mom and she walked me thru it to bring her back, its definitly hard and im willing to do whatever it takes to help out any chance i get, im actually donating 50 dollars myself!

Just wanted to give everyone an update, my goal is actually getting much closer than i had thought, I am currently at 597.00 dollars, which leaves at 903.00 dollars left to hit my goal, Its all for a good cause and im super excited to help out, hopefully i can get to 1500.00 because i do need a reason to ride a 100 miles, im certainly not the fittest guy in town and i can certainly see some people looking at and saying this kids gonna croak halfway thru, but hey if the phins can win in december, i can at least get 75 miles, and push thru to 100!

I also have type 2....lost 30 pounds...take two different medicines a day...and so far, so good.

My son who just turned 29 came down with it. My ex-wife side also has it big time...my side I don't know anyone else that had it or has it.

Sorry to hear about that, but if you help out up top i got a link where you can donate, everylittle bit helps! feel free to check it out, it will certianly be greatly appreciated from me, and all Diabetics Fin fans across the globe
