I will start of by saying yes I know you think you all need CBs.

The same thing was said about a month before the draft with the Bills.

I willuse my same arguments I use with Lito on our boards.

Why would you want to trade Taylor (albiet aging but still can play) for a CB that has played a total of 14 games over the past two seasons?

If you are hurting at CB as much as you think you are then why would you not have drafted a couple?

Also for a team that is rebuilding why would you want to suck up a Asante Samuals, Nate Clements, Marcus Trufant contract on said CB, who IMO has not earned that money?

According to his player profile, Lito started 24 of 32 games over the last two years and has 8 ints. Why would I want him? He's better than anyone we got. Would be a nice complement to Will Allen. Not to mention he's 7 years younger than JT.

I think you mean Lito missed 14 games the past three seasons.

valid argument. injuries are a concern. if he's not on the field, he can't help us - no matter how old he is.

but of the group you listed, trufant is the only one i would take. clements is overpaid. asante is either a product of their scheme or having the benefit of knowing what was gonna happen, so he is in no way worth his new contract. trufant is money though.

you wouldn't be baiting us for youboty, would you? :d-day:

The only concern with Lito is his injuries. He is solid in a position of need and with him and Allen, I would feel a lot better about our secondary this year. There is also the age factor, as he is only 26.

JT has only 2 years left max.

I would heart Lito if we land him, the guy is a very good number one.
Jt has what 3 years left in that tank and Lito has about 5-6.

Because even if JT plays the next 2 seasons, that is 32 games, thats about all we would get out of him. Lito, meanwhile, is still a young but experienced player, who barring some unexpected and unlikely serious or career-ending injury, will play more games than that in a Dolphins uniform in the future. That is whether he misses 14 in the next two seasons or not - he would still be only 28.

Plus, he is a Pro Bowl caliber CB.

I think its a no-brainer personally.

you know what makes great corners? a great front seven. i believe this is why the Tuna didnt draft and DBs or pick any up really because in my opinion he believes he has a formitable front seven that will pressure the QB enough to make the DBs look better than they really are. its all about winning in the trenches. These lineman need to start getting these monster contract instead of the "skill positions".

What good is a player who cannot stay on the field no matter what his age? What if some of those games he missed was against our divisional rivals?

Lito may be a Pro Bowl calibur CB but JT is a Pro Bowl calibur DE/OLB and by far the teams best pass rusher.

You missed the point. If you're looking at raw numbers, just games played, Lito will contribute to the Miami Dolphins more in the next 4-6 years than JT will for the rest of his career, which I dont see surpassing 2 seasons.

No doubt JT is an excellent player. But any trade involving him is not so much about his production as much as it is his age and getting value for an asset. You simply cannot throw age out the window when you are dealing with the possibility of trading a guy in the twilight of his career on a rebuilding team.

I did not miss the point you were making. Sure he could possibly contribute more than JT over the next 4-6 years but he could also be a source of frustration by missing key games each year because he is physically unable to play. How much of a help will Lito be in December if he's on the sideline watching the games instead of playing in them.

While you cannot through age out the window you also cannot dismiss a player's injury history.

And I'm not  But even if JT is 100% healthy for 2 more seasons, that is 32 games. I still feel, that at age 26, Lito will play more than 32 games for the Miami Dolphins over the course of his career.

And I surely dont get your point about missing key games. News flash, Jason wont be either to play the Pats in a critical AFC East battle in 2010. Lito will, at the very least, be on the roster. You talk as if he has yet to see the field in his NFL career. Despite all of these 'woes' he has managed to make the Pro Bowl twice. Must be doing something right, dont ya think?
