With the playoffs OUT of the picture now these final 2 games I would start Sage. Here is why........

Sage has showed enough vs Buffalo and vs NYJ to earn some more reps as a starter. His start vs the Browns was a disaster. He deserves another chance. IF he gets the job done these final 2 starts, then there is no need in my opinion to draft a QB or waste a high pick on a QB in the April draft. We MIGHT be able to put that off another year and make a run NEXT year with Gus/Sage as our QB's.

The offense is clicking with these 2 at QB. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Neither are LONG-TERM answers, but with other pressing needs at S, CB, O-line, WR, and even LB......FIX THEM FIRST!

If this team finishes 9-7 and had 2 close home loses vs Atlanta and New England..then this team was very close to being a playoff team in a tough AFC this year and a QB change heading into next year isn't needed.

I think most fans on here are sick of the "caretaker" QB's we've had and are looking for a star. Honestly if there is a QB as the BPA on our draft chart in the first, second or third rounds, I say take him.

might as well start Sage, we know what we have in Gus or what he isn't. Sage probably won't be anything special either, but I think Miami might as well see what this guy has, I think he's earned it too, with how he has brought Miami back twice to victory.

Coaches see them play every day, they know what they have. Why did you make a new thread when theres like 2 others on the first page?

Right On Mike O

Mike O I dont think i could agree with you more. Our offense isnt really lethal yet but i dont think it is far away from being so. I know a lot of people on these boards keep throwing out Gus' 70 something quarterback rating this year but i think that is somewhat decieving. He has a great arm and i havent seen too many just bad horrible decisions. He has the bum finger and that kinda sucks but it will be better before next year. Using this years draft as an example it seems like saban is all about filling positions with quality players and i guess you cant ask for more. trading in your future just to take some chance on a rookie to be groomed could take to damn long. I say to everyone on this board. We are pretty close it seems, but we need a few more players to turn the corner and not just some miracle QB that may or may not materialize. If we can get someone like rivers or whoever the hell else then whatever but i guess i am about 3 clicks away from staying on the GUS train. i think he could take us to the playoffs next year and hopefully cause some noise in them. I am not a big fan of Sage being a starter but maybe just a #2. he reminds me too much of fiedler. Just a caretaker with no real arm. This offense needs a big arm to create opportunities. Thats my 2 cents so go ahead and rip it up!@!!!!!! :goof: :goof: :dolphins:   :fire:

Saban will take the same approach with Frerotte as any other player. If Frerotte can't go, he will sit. It is about being consistent with how you run things as a coach. Players can't believe in a system if it isn't consistent with all the players on the team.

In Sages defense, the whole cleveland game was a disaster. He didn't exactly have help. But if gus is ok to play, you play him. His game has been great lately and he shouldn't be pulled just because there's two games left.
