Final Cuts Shopping list?

I think people are making way too much of Clay being out. It reminds me for when Hartline missed a lot of camp time in 2012. Until we hear otherwise I would figure Clay's going to be ready to go week 1.
He didn't miss alot of camp, he misses all of camp

I do as well, and then some. He's moving from being a very undersized NT to DT where he belongs.

Someone moving from NT should be able to dominate 1-on-1 when they are used to 2-on-1, I didn't see Mitchell dominating 1-on-1.

I did. Mitchell is capable of some good penetration.

Hard to believe we couldn't swing a WR for LB trade with somebody

Player for player trades are beyond rare in todays NFL.

But I do agree, teams are looking at the Fins WR and RB rosters to see who we drop.

If Williams does not make the 53, he will NOT make it to PS. Easily see Giants or Falcons going after him.

WR, same thing. Binns gets snatched.

Agreed so we need to see if we can get some additional late draft picks for them rather than releasing them so we can get more players like Fede.

I'm not sold on Mitchell. I would be looking for a DT. Also, it is clear our BU centers suck. Get a new one.
Mitchell should be fine. I doubt that he's a problem. He's smaller than Soliai but a lot quicker. I don't see our DTs as a problem at all.

Well it depends.

We lost a lot of size and 'plug' power with Soliai walking.

Yes we are moving to more agile and light DT's with Odrick and Mitchell but exposing ourselves to some mean power run games.

Doesn't help our LB's suck.

I think seeing how the LB's play will be huge. This will dictate if Hickey, Philbin and Coyle need to make something happen now or see if we can manage with what we have and give the youth a chance to shine and step it up.

Good post. I am more worried about losing Damien Williams than Binns. Binns has been around a while, and while I like him, we are better at WR than RB. I don't see any reason Daniel Thomas should make this team over Williams. If we lose Binns probably Cone or Hazel will be put on the practice squad.

Yeah, absolutely. It drives me crazy though that in order for this whole defensive scheme to work the linebackers really have to be strong...and somehow they allowed it to become our weakest position. Unfortunately we may have to wait until next year to improve there unless someone gets cut for salary cap reasons.

I'd like to see us sign tyler bray assuming he's the odd man out in KC. Doubt they'll let Aaron Murray or Chase Daniel go

Anone think this kid Brackett sticks?

I don't think so. The problem is that even if we cut Egghead, we would still have 3 TE's ahead of him...and I don't think we will keep 4. Even though he is probably playing better than Lynch right now, I doubt they give up on him. Drafted players normally stick with teams in one form or another, and unless they really suck, some drafted where Lynch was should make the team.
