FINAL FOUR is coming!!

Alot can still change before 2011. So lets hold our enthusiasm a little!

That being said, I hope it happens. Would really make things better.
 
Well I guess its a step in the right direction. Ideally I'd love to see an 8 team playoff.

With a 4 team playoff there still might be unanswered questions like "Well team no. 5 could have won the NC as but they never had a chance." But its hard to say that about team no. 9.

stastical breakdowns show the #5 team NEVER have a legit shot at being #1 nor are in the debate as to who is #1

Statistical breakdowns and people's perceptions might not be the same. I mean last year (no offense OSU fans) there were at least 3 or 4 other teams that would have at least given Florida a better game than OSU did. I'm sure the Ginn Jr. foot injury had something to do with that, but still.

I don't trust the BCS. I think an 8 team playoff would leaviate some of that distrust. Even with a 4 team playoff, we're still relying on the BCS system to tell us who those 4 teams are supposed to be.
 
A 4 team system is fine. This will be good if there are 3 undefeated teams. The #4 vs. #5 debate doesn't hold much water because a team obviously did something wrong if they are ranked at #4 or #5 anyway.

The one problem that I see with this system is that a game such as OSU vs. Michigan at the end of last year would have become virtually meaningless because both teams would still have had a shot at the nat'l title.

I am in favor of a 6 team playoff with the #1 and #2 teams receiving a bye week.
 
my ideal was always an 8 team playoff, 6 of the seeds being conference champions (sec, acc, big ten, big 12, big east, pac-10) and 2 wildcards....

trying to make it so you need to win the conference before you can win the national championship
 
Ideal is an 8 team playoff, But top 4 is good also. This is the best choice for college football. They will make alot of money off of this
 
Thats awesome cause by then Miami will be back in National Title contention!!! Just in the nick of time :)
 
This is all I wanted. Keep the bowl system and have the BCS team game be a mini playoff. It's all they need and really all they should do imo.
 
I honestly dont find anything with the format now.

Obviously OU has never been on the "we shoulda been in the title game" convo, we've been on the side that "didnt deserve it" so you can kinda see where im coming from

But really whats life without a lil controversy?

2011? LOL, are you putting your own team down? OR did you just not read the whole article/thread? :sidelol:
 
So hold on a second...So what if statisically and rankings, the best two teams are playing in differnernt bowl games. Lets say USC who is ranked #1 is playing in the Rose, and Michigan is playing in the Sugar bowl...

And that thing said it rotates, then what if that year it rotated to the Fiesta and the Orange bowl that the two teams that win that game play in the NC game...

Am i missing something here?
