1. Eli Apple CB Ohio State --- I don't necessarily think he'll be the BPA, but he has a ton of upside and has been productive. Big, physical corner who fits what Miami seems to be looking for in the secondary. Dolphins certainly could go pass rusher here if Lawson or Dodd drop and defensive tackle is still a wildcard for me with all the talent there. I just think Apple makes so much sense as the team can cross off it's biggest need and move on.
2. Joshua Garnett OG Stanford --- The run on offensive guards could start near the end of R1, but I'm hopeful that Garnett can make it to Miami's pick. He would add the physicality the Dolphins need to match up with the strong defensive tackles in the AFC East. Pass rusher could be another option here, or running back. But if the Dolphins are to find a starter at guard, R2 feels like where it's at.
3. Cyrus Jones CB Alabama -- Lots of options in round 3, but I love Jones. He's a little short, but other than that he's very solid with nice cover skills and the ability to return kicks which could help Jarvis Landry. I want to find a linebacker somewhere, but keep coming up with better talent elsewhere. Perhaps Su'a Cravens makes it here. That could definitely be a target in R3.
4. C.J. Prosise RB Notre Dame --- Prosise could be gone by the 3rd round, but if he's there I love his upside as a speed complement to Jay Ajayi. Jordan Howard from Indiana could be a possibility as well. I think Miami looks running back around this point.
5. Ben Braunecker TE Harvard --- I think Miami could look tight end as early as the third round with Nick Vannett as a possible target. Braunecker is more of a stretch the field type with some nice athletic ability.
6. Sean Oakman DE Baylor --- Oakman may have to answer for character concerns with recent allegations of sexual abuse. Depending on how that plays out, I think he can set the edge and develop as a pass rusher. Oakman needs some work, but in the sixth he could emerge as a steal.
7. Deon Bush S Miami --- The scouting reports for Bush aren't very friendly, but I like the talent and think he could develop with better coaching.
7. Mike Matthews C/OG Texas A&M -- Doesn't seem like a lot of love in the scouting community for Matthews, but he's someone I wouldn't bet against. At the very least he should be a solid backup. Obviously has the bloodlines.
