Final OTA/Scrimmage Updates (6/19/14)

Plays and stats in June with no pads with a mix match of starters and backups doesn't mean a whole lot to me. Good or bad. Best news to come out of this minicamp is that no one got hurt.

What holds more weight? Albert giving up 4 sacks in 2013 or 4 in an OTA without pads. Seriously not worried about him that this point.

What is the lowdown on DT Garrison Smith? Every year some rookie undrafted free agents impress to make the roster. Good to hear that he had a good session today.

I haven't been yelled at enough today so I will try and change that. I know it's early without pads, and all that yada yada, but one things remains a constant, Ryan takes more sacks than does the other QBs even though he had the better OL. Just continue to watch, the OL didn't give up 58 sacks last year. They gave up a lot of them, but a portion of them were due to Ryan holding the ball too long.

Again I know this is still REALLY early, but just something to keep an eye on. Something I hope to see improvement. :couch3:

And the offense played well on tuesday, should we read into that or ignore it?

The offensive line was pure crap last year, not sure if adding one good player will make it average but the line was definitely the problem although a qb does get some blame of course.

Smh at you guys bitching about the OL already. I can understand being concerned but, judas priest, let's not jump off the bridge yet. We have a stout DL, why would you expect a completely new OL not to struggle against a DL in it's 3rd year in the same system?! Like someone said, 'same ol fh', you guys expect a ring in july.

The bane of me are the fans that predict doom n gloom in june and come back in September to rub salt on our wounds just in case they haven't fixed these problems by then.

"I knew it! I was saying it in june!"

the common theme is that it's difficult for Olineman to block effectively without pads. What they may be looking for at this stage is how well the lineman are keeping guys in front of them, footwork, etc., etc. I expect the tackles to have their work cut out for them with our edge rushers.
