Will the final roster size be 55 like last year?

No it's going to be 53 to hopefully cause less confusion.
For next year I am thinking about adding a 5 man practice squad. Those players would have to be practice squad eligible and it would be like in the NFL where another team can claim a player off of your PS to put on their active roster if they want to....but that's for next year.
