Kansas City Chiefs Final Roster

QB
Michael Vick 1400000.00
Jeff Garcia 500,000
Charlie Whitehurst 300,000
Tarvaris Jackson 250,000

The Cheifs totally reworked the quarterback position this offseason. Saying goodbye to Trent Green and his inflated salary, the Chiefs were able to swing a trade for probowler Michael Vick. Jeff Garcia was signed in the offseason to provide a veteran backup. The drafting of Charlie Whitehurst and Tarvaris Jackson provide the Chiefs with 2 players who could become the qb of the future.

RB
Larry Johnson 741000.00
Shelton, Eric 310,000
William Green 545000.00
Smith, McKenzi 235000.00
Wilson, Travis 235000.00
Kyle Johnson 460000

Last season, Larry Johnson emerged as one of the leagues best running backs. This season, behind a revamped offensive line, and new fullback, Johnson will continue to dominate. The Chiefs said goodbye to oft-injured Priest Holmes, but were able to bring in Chris Shelton and William Green to share backup duties. Another big offseason acquisition was former Bronco fullback Kyle Johnson. Johnson is an excellent blocking fullback who also possesses great catching ability out of the backfield.

WR
Terrell Owens 770000.00
Eddie Kennison 2050000.00
Carter, Drew 385,000
Curry, Nate 235000.00
McIntyre, Jeris 235000.00
Michael Lewis 250,000

The Chiefs made a big splash this offseason by acquiring Terrell Owens. Former number one receiver Eddie Kennison will slide into the number 2 receiver role while newly acquired Drew Carter will lineup in the slot. Michael Lewis was also signed to be the new kickoff and punt return specialist.

TE
Tony Gonzalez 3600000.00
Golliday, Aaron 235000.00
Walden, Willie 235000.00

Tony Gonzalez is still one of the leagues top tight ends. Gonzalez will benefit from the acquisition of Terrell Owens, as he will not be doubled teames as he was last season. Michael Vick is a big fan of using his tight ends, so Gonzalez should be in for a big season.

OL
Robert Gallery LT 650000.00
Brian Waters LG 545000.00
Casey Wiegmann C 1600000.00
Will Shields RG 5100000.00
Chris Bober RT 1500000.00
Svitek, Will 310000.00
Parquet, Jeremy 310000.00
Heyer, Peter 235000.00

The Chiefs were able to offset the loss of Willie Roaf with the acquisition of rising star Robert Gallery. Along with two of the best guards in football, the Chiefs line will once again be one of the leagues top units in 2006.

DE
Jared Allen 385000.00
Derrick Burgess 2000000.00
Hicks, Eric DE 2100000.00
Ville, Zack DE 235000.00

Jared Allen and Derrick Burgess will combine to be one of the leagues most formidable defensive end pairings this season. In only his second NFL season Allen tallied 11 sacks, while Burgess accumulated 16 sacks in Oakland. This pair should be one of the leagues best tandems in 2006.

DT
Ryan Pickett 500,000
Ryan Sims 1567000.00
Siavii, Junior 410000.00
Montavious Jackson 250,000
Manaia Brown 250,000

Ryan Sims and newly signed Ryan Pickett will start at defensive tackle for the Chiefs. Pickett is coming off his best season as a pro, and should continue to improve in Kansas City. Junior Siavii and draft picks Montavious Jackson and Manaia Brown provide good depth at the position.

LB
Derrick Johnson 310000.00
LaVar Arrington 545,000.00
Kawika Mitchell 460000.00
Brandon Moore 250,000
Bart Scott 250,000

The linebacking core of the Kansas City Chiefs will be greatly improved this season with the acquisitions of Lavar Arrington, Bart Scott, and Brandon Moore. Arrington, Derrick Johnson, and Kawika Mitchell provide the Chiefs with a great starting core, while Scott and Moore provide great depth.

CB
Patrick Surtain 1335000.00
Chris Mcallister 5500000.00
Jason Webster 1800000.00
Helms, Gabriel 235000.00
Perkins, Justin 235000.00

Chris Mcallister and Patrick Surtain, along with Sean Taylor and Tank Williams will make up one of the leagues best secodaries this season. Surtain and Mcallister are both former pro bowlers who will work great together in shutting down the passing games of opposing teams.

S

Tank Williams 2000000
Sean Taylor 385,000.00
Connot, Scott 310000.00
Woods, Jerome 1600000.00

Newly acquired Sean Taylor and Tank Williams will makeup one of the leagues best safety tandems in 2006. Along with Chris Mcallister and Patrick Surtain, this is one of the best secondaries in recent memory.

Starting the offseason way over the salary cap, the Chiefs did a wonderful job bringing in talented and less expensive players to replace aging veterans. The Chiefs added Michael Vick, Kyle Johnson, Terrell Owens, Eric Shelton, Drew Carter, and Robert Gallery on offense. These additions will make the Chiefs offense a high powered scoring machine in 2006. On defense, the Chiefs were able to add Derrick Burgess, Ryan Pickett, Lavar Arrington, Bart Scott, Brandon Moore, Chris Mcallister, and Sean Taylor. These additions shored up a previously shaky Chiefs defense. The Chiefs front office expects the Chiefs to challenge for a Super Bowl in 2006.

Pittsburgh Steelers

As the draft winds to a close the NFL champion Pittsburgh Steeler are ready to announce their final roster for the 2006 season.

First of the Quarterback position. Starting talent wasn't needed as emerging star Ben Roethlisberger is in place at the top of the depth chart but some depth was needed at the position. Ben's former rival Josh Harris was added to the team to be a developmental backup with the speed and size to contribute on more than one level. Veteran Jeff Blake was also added to offer some insight to the young QB's and teach Harris how to maximize that powerful arm.

Quarterbacks

Ben Roethlisberger 655,500
Josh Harris 310,000
Jeff Blake 250,000

1,215,500

With the departure of Jerome Bettis that smash mouth aspect of the Steelers offense needed upgraded. 250 pound TJ Duckett was brought in and should fit perfectly into the Steelers power scheme. Also former 2nd rounder Tatum Bell was added to the team to share some of the load. At 5'11 215 he has more than enough size to handle running between the tackles and his 900 yards and 5.3 ypc should make an already dangerous Steelers running game even more intimidating. Add to that duo holdeover Willie Parker, one of the fastest and most dangerous RB's in the game, and his 1400 all purpose yards he achieved last year and you have the most intimidating back field in the NFL. In addition Bowling Green standout P.J. Pope was added to bring in fresh feet and a guy known for catching the ball out of the backfield to the team. His 4.4 speed at 220lbs should make him a future star for the Steelers. Manning the fullback position is 7 year Steelers veteran Dan Kreider.

Running Back

Tatum Bell 350,000
T.J. Duckett 663,000
Willie Parker 350,000
P.J Pope 250,000
Dan Kreider 940,000

$2,553,000.00

Another position that the Steelers needed to address was the WR position. Antwan Randel El was found to be priced out of the Steelers range, as the contract he recieved didn't merit his 1 TD year. To start along side star Hines Ward Ashley Lelie was aquired from the Broncos. Lelie's potential to stretch the field makes him much more valuable than Randel El would have been in the starting role. As Big Ben develops a deeper wide reciever corps would be required for him to maximize his potential. Three WR's with game breaking speed were aquired to give Ben the multiple recieving threats he has never had. Greg Lewis, Andre Davis, and Quincy Morgan should all excel out of the slot and all have speed that not many teams 4th and 5th CB's can match up with. In addition, many of the recievers aquired are bonafide return threats and should give the special teams a drastic boost. From the draft former UCF standout Brandon Marshall was added. He brings the size and strenght to the group, and will see some decent playing time during his rookie year. The Steelers hope he takes this learning season and grows into a future playmaker as he has all the physical tools.

Wide Reciever

Hines Ward 2,750,000
Ashley Lelie 600,000
Greg Lewis 460,000
Andre Davis 250,000
Quincy Morgan 250,000
Brandon Marshall 250,000

4,560,000

The Steelers offensive line saw the departure of a few aging players, but was reloaded with quality young talent. Mammoth second year tackle Trai Essex moves into the RT position and former first rounder Jeff Faine takes over the center spot, hoping to build of a productive and injury free year in 2005. Fanica, Simmons, and Smith round out what looks again to be one of the best O-line units in the NFL. The unit also has plenty of depth to keep fresh legs in at all times and injuries down.

Offensive Line

Marvel Smith 4,400,000
Alan Fanica 3,700,000
Jeff Faine 538,770
Kendall Simmons 800,000
Trai Essex 310,000
Ulish Booker 235,000
Alonzo Ephraim 250,000
Jordan Black 250,000
Tim Brown 235,000
Lenny Vandermade 310,000

11,028,750

Rounding out the offensive side of the ball the TE position has been upgraded this year as well. Last years first rounder Heath Miller looks to be the long term anwser at the position combining size with the pass catching ability to be an impact player. Former Browns starter Steve Heiden to build off his 43 receptions last year and use his 6'5 267 frame to be a dual threat in the Steelers power running formations. Anthony Becht was also obtained to give even more power and flexability out of 3 TE sets and provide solid play in case of injury.

Tight End

Heath Miller 373,000
Steve Heiden 675,000
Anthony Becht 250,000

1,298,000

For the Steelers defense the most important position remains the big NT in the 3-4 defense that takes up the blockers and causes the confusion in the trenches that allow the LB's too roam free. Mainstay Casey Hampton remains in the middle as one of the NFL's best at the position. Talented young performer Chris Hoke remains as the number 2 man to keep this unit performing at high levels throughout the game

Defensive Tackle

Casey Hampton 3,250,000
Chris Hoke 800,000
Kyle Andres 235,000

4,285,000

At defensive tackle Aaron Smith remains the number 1 guy, and the man penciled in to play the number 2 spot, Travis Kirschke was resigned at over a million dollar savings to line up opposite Smith. Youngster Antwan Lake and vet Dzyonick are reliable fresh legs.

Aaron Smith 4,500,000
Travis Kirschke 250,000
Bob Dzyonick 310,000
Antwan Lake 250,000

5,310,000

As the the teams strength through their championship season, the linebacking core was only upgraded this off season. 1-2 NFL sack leaders Clark Haggins and Joey Porter return along with 2004 NFL defensive MVP James Farrior. The new addition to the group is young ILB Andra Davis from the Browns. He adds even more speed to this group and his amazing 150 tackles last year shows that this guy is an elite player at his position. With the talent on the defensive front 7 that this team has, don't be suprised if the year goes by without a 100 yard rusher from and opposing team.

Linebackers

Joey Porter 3,850,000
James Farrior 2,900,000
Andra Davis 800,000
Clark Haggins 2,200,000
Andre Frazier 310,000
Malcom Postell 235,000
Richard Seigler 310,000
Roland Stanley 235,000

10,840,000

The cornerback position saw the lost of starter Desha Townshed, but he was thought to be one of the weakness's of the Pittsburgh defense and there was no attempt to resign him. Budding star Ike Taylor looks to build of a year where he shut down such elite recievers as Marvin Harrison and Chad Jackson and is planted firmly at the top of the depth chart. He was retained as a restricted free agent. Youngster Bryan McFadden will move into the second CB spot and should stay in that position for years to come. Not much dropoff come as you progess down the depth chart as Chidi Iwoma and Richardo Colclough are two guys with experience in the system and in a playoff atmosphere and should offer great depth and production out of multiple DB packages.

Cornerback

Ike Taylor 1,318,000
Bryan McFadden 310,000
Ricardo Colclough 385,000
Chidi Iwoma 540,000

2,558,000

Safety was a position that was thought to be set as Tyrone Carter could easily step into Chris Hopes position and give similar production. The aquisition of Pro Bowl free safety Brian Dawkins pushes Carter to the nickleback position and gives the Steelers one of the most intimidating Safety duos in the NFL. Two players arguably the best at their position should turn the Steelers secondary from a weakness to a strength. Dawkins and Polamalue is one fearsome defensive backfield.

Safeties

Troy Polamalue 827,000
Brian Dawkins 3,000,000
Tyrone Carter 625,000
Donnie Nickey 250,000
Russell Stuvaints 460,000

5,162,000

On special teams last years kicker Jeff Reed was resigned at a million dollar savings and ace punter Chris Gardocki returns to give the defense an unfair advantage over its competition.

Kickers

Jeff Reed 250,000
Chris Gardocki 1,088,750

1,338,750

Total Cap Number- $50,209,000.00

The 2006 Steelers are a team that started well above the salary cap and was facing loosing many star players to a team that improved at almost every position. Improvements to the best team in the NFL is a scary though, and considering the caliber of players brought to the team there is no doubt that this is a team that will be competing in January next year. Ben has been given all the weapons that he could ask for, the defense has added two pro bowl players to a roster that was already full of them, and special teams should continue to be a positive aspect for this team. This is one intimidating team on paper, and they can beat you any way they have too.

BUFFALO BILLS

QB

Mark Brunell (4,000,000)
Kelly Holcomb (875,000)
J.P. Losman (385,000)
*Drew Olson (250,000)

Brought in solid veteran Mark Brunell to handle the starting job while JP develops. Kelly was kept because he proved last year he can start, so I figure he can be a quality backup. Drew Olson was brought in as an UDFA after a very impressive college career, maybe as a possible backup for the future.

HB

Willis McGahee (731,750)
Lamont Jordan (550,000)
*Cedric Humes (250,000)
Lionel Gates (310,000)

Added Lamont Jordan to help split the load with Willis after a subpar year for him, maybe another back to take some of the carries will help him out. Cedric was brought in as an UDFA because he's a punding running back that we needed, possibly a goaline back ala Brandon Jacobs last year.

FB

Daimon Shelton (950,000)
*David Kirtman (250,000)

Shelton was kept for his great run blocking ability, a very underrated fullback. Kirtman was brought in as an UDFA to be a backup after starting at FB for one of the most successful college offenses ever.

WR

Lee Evans (542,500)
Matt Jones (
310,000)
Ernest Wilford
(385,000)
Doug Gabriel (460,000)
*Jeff Webb (250,000)

Lee was kept after a very impressive season, he keeps getting better each year. Unfortunately we had to release Eric Moulds because of his huge contract. Matt Jones and Ernest Wilford were brought over in the big trade with Jax. We love Matt's physical talents and he proved his rookie season he can be a big time WR. Wilford provides us with a large target wit soft hands, good for goaline situations. Doug Gabriel is a very underrated WR with good speed, solid hands, good jumping and blocking, and a greart effort. Jeff Webb was picked up as an UDFA because he has good hands and good speed.

TE

Bubba Franks (850,000)
Brandon Manumaleuna (250,000)
Tim Euhus (385,000)
*Tony Scheffler (250,000)

A lot of changes were made here with Bubba Franks and Brandon Manumaleunda being picked up as free agents. We expect both of them to make big, immediate impacts for our offense. Euhus is a second year player who showed some good signs his rookie year. Scheffler was a steal as an UDFA because in the real NFL he was drafted in the second round by the Broncos.

OL

Mike Gandy (1,250,000)
*Paul McQuistan (250,000)
*Guy Whimper (250,000)

Bennie Anderson (1,400,000)
Jason Thomas (385,000)

Justin Hartwig (250,000)
Raymond Preston (310,000)

Chris Villarrial (2,500,000)
Justin Geisinger (310,000)

Tony Pashos (650,000)
*Derek Morris (250,000)

Not many chages were made here. We picked up a good center to replace Teague. We gave up a draft pick for RFA Tony Pashos, which was a bargain for what we got him for. We also added some rookie projects who have a lot of potential and could be quality starters one day.

DL

Reggie Hayword (
1,450,000)
Antonio Cochran (250,000)

Marcus Stroud (
545,000)
Bryan Robinson (250,000)

Montae Reagor (2,000,000)
James Reed (250,000)

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (
3,850,000)
Carlos Hall (250,000)

Big changes were made here as we decided to change our personnel from a 3-4 back to a 4-3. We picked up two great defensive ends in Hayward and KGB who will greatly improve our pass rush. We also greatly improved our DTs which were probably our biggest need coming into the offseason. We picked up one of, if not the best DT in the NFL Marcus Stroud, as well as a solid starter Reagor. We picked up a lot of depth along the d-line at every position.

LB

Jeff Posey (1,750,000)

Wendell Hunter (235,000)

Mike Peterson (3,000,000)
*Freddy Keiaho (250,000)
Liam Ezekiel (310,000)

Mark Simoneau (1,100,000)
Angelo Crowell (910,000)

The only position in which we probably decreased in talent, but with our much more talented and bigger defensive line it should give our linebackers a lot more room and space to make plays. Our biggest aquistion here was MLB Mike Peterson who is a superstar. UDFA Keiaho is a solid backup with great intangibles and intensity, just undersized.

CB

Nate Clements (4,900,000)
Terrence McGee (2,000,000)
Tyrone Poole (1,500,000)
Walt Harris (1,500,000)
*Marcus Maxey (250,000)

We kept our starters the same, but added a lot of veteran depth here and a good rookie who can eventually develop into a quality starter.

S
Brian Russell (2,000,000)
Rashad Baker (385,000)
*Marcus Hudson (250,000)

Tebucky Jones (250,000)
Dexter Reid (250,000)
*Dawan Landry (250,000)

Most people questioned the signing of Russell because of his lack of tackling skills, but he has great awareness of the field and makes a lot of plays. Tebucky Jones was brought in for his great speed and always being in on the tackle, even though his turnovers have always been low. We added some quality youth here through FA.

K
Rian Lindell (950,000)

P

Brian Moorman (700,000)

Nothing changed here, one pro bowler, and another good starter.

QB: Byron Leftwich

A great QB with Pro-bowl abilities.

RB: Ronnie Brown

Should have won offensive rookie of the year last year.

FB: Darian Barnes

A solid blocking fullback.
LWR: Chris Chambers
RWR: Anquan Boldin

One of the best receiving duos in NFL history combined with Byron Leftwich= a lot of passing yards.

Slot WR: Wes Welker

TE: Randy McMichael

Another solid receiving threat to go along with Boldin and Chambers

LT: L.J. Shelton
LG: Jeno James
C: Bob Hallen
RG: Rex Hadnot
RT: Vernon Carey

A decent offensive line that Hudson Houck should be able to make good. Shelton anchors the left side with Carey on the right.

LDE: Vonnie Holiday/ Matt Roth
NT: John Henderson
DT: Keith Traylor/Kevin Carter/ Manuel Wright
RDE: Jason Taylor

I brought over Henderson in the big Jacksonville trade, he should fill the gap at DT the Dolphins had last year. The DEs should have as much success as last year, maybe more because of the constant doubleteam on Henderson.

SLB: Junior Seau
MLB: Zach Thomas
WLB: Channing Crowder

Solid linbacking core with young players ready to take over.

LCB: Travis Daniels
RCB: Antrel Rolle
FS: Donovin Darius
SS: Travares Tillman

The most improved area on the team IMO. Brought in youth and experience.

P: Donnie Jones
K: Olindo Mare
KR/PR: Wes Welker or Chad Morton

TEAM SALARY-46,495,000.00

We felt first and foremost when we were approaching the offseason that we needed to trim the fat from our team...are team had cancer cells on our team...players making big money and not making it happen on the field. We had to get rid of 3 main individuals...LaVar Arrington and Sean Taylor-simply because they didnt think that Washington was where they wanted to play...and Patrick Ramsey...who we felt just wasnt getting it done here and he needed a change of scenery. Along with that we had to try to get into the first round...we got 3 first rounders...we got a WHOPPING 14 players in Free Agency...and most of them can come in and start...I think I did my job as GM and I built a championship calibre team.
Offensively we are absolutely outmached in every fase of the game.. We have un-matched speed at WR with the Acquisition of Sinorice Moss and Willie Reid. Sonirice is the younger brother of Santana who went to the probowl this year and we expect them to stretch the field with thier speed and they will give defense fits. Our TE Vernon Davis will let his talents and speed speak for itself....he can out run most Linebackers and give our offense another Dangerous option that Defenses will have to plan for. Our Runningback core is unmatched....alot of teams have a 1-2 punch...we have a 1-2-3 punch. Our RB's are like the the 2003 Marlins Pitching Staff...We have Josh Beckett(Clinton Portis) who is the most complete runner and has speed, then we have AJ Burnet(Micheal Bennett) who is built and makes his mark on speed and explosive running...then we change it up with Dontrelle Willis(Najeh Davenport) who bring complete power to the game. We will bring alot of 3 WR sets and 2 and 3 back packages, that will give defenses alot of work to try and stop.
Defensively we lost Quality players on paper and paper alone...some of those players didnt Materialise on the field and often caused Coach Gibbs and the franchise as a whole alot of problems. However we brought in players that fill our depthchart with STARTERS. Any one of these gifted Athletes can start on our team..and thats the beauty of it We set to attack the void left by The loss of Arrington and Taylor and we accomplished it...we brought in Highly touted Georgia LB David Pollack who did a pretty good job his rookie season in Cincy and is expected to get a whole lot better around the ball and can ge to the QB when asked to...We revamped our whole Safety core and brought in Kim Herring who is recovering Nicely from Injury and should make a big push to start, Hard-hitting rookie Ko Simpson, Idrees Bashir and Will Demps. We really dont know what direction we will go in with our Safeties because they all can come in and start...thats the best problem to have...alot of players that can start. Our D-line is second to none...we are bringing back ALL DT Pro Cornelius Griffin and along with him we brought in ALl-Pro DT Gerrard Warren...good luck running on us. And last but not least our Defensive ends can get to the Quarterback time and time again. We plan on using the Motion Shift defense that Coach Loves...we start out in base 4-3 and we will motion at the line into a 3-4 or 5-2. WHICH INCLUDES ALOT OF STUNTS AND BLITZING WHEN WE SHIFT TO KEEP OFFENSIVE LINES ON THIER TOES AND TO GET INTO THE BACKFIELD TIME AND TIME AGAIN

DEPTH CHART

DETROIT LIONS
The entire Detroit Lions recieved a much needed facelift over the offseason. Out are many of the locker room cancers and underachievers. In, are a group of intense competitors who look to make a run at Miami next January. The Lions realized that much of the game is won in the trenches and their roster is indicative of it.

OFFENSE
This offense is designed to be strong in both running and passing. Due to the extremely strong offensive line and the pro bowl caliber fullback, tight ends will rarely be used and 3 wide reciever sets will be frequent.

The quarterback situation has changed drastically with aging veteran Jeff Garcia let go and draft bust Joey Harrington traded. The Lions acquired pro bowl QB Drew Brees to infuse the offense with explosiveness. Veteran Tim Rattay was signed to backup Brees incase injuries occur. Dan Orlovsky has the tools to be a future starter and will be tutored to do so.
QB- Drew Brees--Tim Rattay--Dan Orlovsky
(6.96 Million)

As many teams are finding out, a 2 back system is necessary over a grueling 16 game season. The Jones brothers both provide elite skills at running as well as recieving. Moe Williams was brought in to be the goal line back and provide the team with veteran stability. Pro Bowl fullback Lorenzo Neal was acquired through trade to lead the way for the RBs and reduce their pounding. He has a track record for paving the way to 1500 yard rushers, most recently L.Tomlinson.
RB- Kevin Jones--Thomas Jones-- Moe Williams
FB- Lorenzo Neal
(3.455 Million)

The tight ends will not be a major feature in the offense but the Lions have 2 quality veterans who can block as well as recieve. They are able to fill in well when needed. Rookie Ed Nelson, former UConn basketball player, was picked up due to his tremendous potential.
TE- Dan Campbell-- Reggie Kelly-- Ed Nelson (R)
(800k)

Due to the abundance of talent, the Wide Recievers will be featured in the offense more so than the tight ends. The WR corps have the three major components to recieving success: a home run threat (Driver), a premier possesion reciever (Clayton), and a lightning fast slot man (Parker). The depth behind them is solid as well.
WR1- Donald Driver-- Troy Walters
WR2- Michael Clayton-- Eddie Drummond
WR3- Eric Parker-- Brandon Williams (R)
(3.255 Million)

The Offensive line is one of the most talented and powerful in the league. With 4 of the 5 starters having been to recent pro bowls, the talent is undeniable. With such skill, a powerful run game and a well protected QB is almost a sure bet. The depth features men both young and old, all of which have significant experience.
LT- Jeff Backus--Orlando Brown
LG- Tonui Fanoti--Quinn Ojinnaka(R)
C- Damien Woody-- Tom Nutten
RG- Levi Jones-- Quinn Ojinaaka(R)
RT- Willie Anderson-- Kelly Butler
(14.38 Million)

DEFENSE
This defense is special due to the fact that it has the personel to run either a 3-4 or a 4-3, depending on the situation.

The Lions signed Kemoeatu to play along side Pro Bowler Shaun Rogers in the 4-3 or to give him a breather at the important nose tackle position in the 3-4. The roster has both larger DE (Vol Oelhoffen) as well as speed rushers (Lawson) so there is not a weak position in either formation. THe defensive line is a dangerous unit, much like the OL.
DE- Aaron Schobel-- Michael Haynes
DT- Ma'ake Kemoeatu--Rodrique Wright(R)
DT- Shaun Rogers-- Shaun Cody
DE- Kimo Von Oelhoffen-- Manny Lawson(R)
(8.12 Million)

Like previously discussed, the Linebackers are a versatile group. The solid MLB, Dan Morgan was acquired through trade to lead this group. Teamed with tremendous athletes such as Boss Bailey, Steve Foley and youngster DeMeco Ryans, Morgan has a group that can blitz from any and all angle, creating nightmares for opposing offenses.
OLB- Steve Foley-- DeMeco Ryans(R)--Monty Beisel
MLB- Dan Morgan--Rob Morris
OLB- Boss Bailey-- Nate Webster-- Monty Beisel
(3.63 Million)

Previously a weakness, the defensive backfield is now a strength. The Lions found a pro bowler to start opposite of all star CB Dre Bly in former eagles CB Lito Sheppard. With such a duo, there is no good side of the field to throw to. There is several young reserves such as Keith Smith, Alan Zemaitis and Donald Strickland who have the potential to be solid starters in the future. For now, however they will be relegated to nickel and dime packages. As for the safety spots, the Lions upgraded underachiever Kenoy Kennedy with Tampa Bay intimidator Jermaine Phillups. Terrence Holt, an athletic FS was able to be resigned. Behind them are former starters Marcus Coleman and Shaun Williams who will be able to step into the starting lineup and not miss a beat if needed.
CB1- Dre Bly--Dante Wesley--Keith Smith
FS- Terrence Holt-- Marcus Coleman
SS- Jermaine Phillups--Shaun Williams
CB2- Lito Sheppard--Alan Zemaitis(R)--Donald Strickland
(9.79725 Million)

SPECIAL TEAMS
The special teams cut Jason Hanson and his large salary for a more youthful leg in Paul Edinger. With his unorthodox style, Edinger has tremendous power and decent accuracy in the clutch. Punter Todd Sauerbrun has a tremendous leg who can consistently give the Lions a victory in the field position battle. Both were viewed as solid veteran additions.
K- Paul Edinger
P- Todd Sauerbrun

Pro Bowler Eddie Drummond will continue to electrify the return game and provide stability in an important aspect to the game.If needed, slot reciever Troy Walters can step in for Drummond.

Lg-Larry Allen,(3,500,000) (2)Adam Treu (900,000)

YOUR 2006-2007 Seattle Seahawks

QB
Hasselbeck, Matt
Greene, David
Detmer, Koy
If it aint broke, don't fix it. Held on to multiple time probowler Matt Hasselbeck. Replaced Seneca Wallace with the more stable Koy Detmer. David Greene remains as a developmental QB.

RB
Shaun Alexander
Maurice Morris
Jeremi Johnson
Thomas Tapeh
Wali Lundy
Returned league MVP Shaun Alexander. Couldn't justify paying 2 million dollars for a fullback, so I had to let Mack Strong walk. Replaced him with a younger fullback who is just as good of a blocker in Jeremi Johnson. Maurice Morris returns as primary backup.

WR
Jimmy Smith
Dennis Northcutt
Hackett, D.J.
Jackson, Darrell
Engram, Bobby
Jared Ellerson

Added the one thing that's been missing over the last 5 years in Seattle: A consistant 1,000 yard receiver to lineup across from DJ. Engram will contribute in the slot and as the primary backup. Northcutt will be the primary return man.

TE
Stevens, Jerramy
Cam Cleeland
Brought back Jerramy Stevens, hoping that the addition of Jimmy Smith will take some pressure off of him so he can finally live up to the potential.

OL
Steve Hutchinson
Locklear, Sean
Womack, Floyd
Gray, Chris
Jones, Walter
Tobeck, Robbie
Spencer, Chris
Vince Manuwai
The best unit in the league got even better with the addition of young standout Vince Manuwai. He'll play right guard. Returned the entire Pro Bowl left side of the line and third year. Third year tackle Sean Locklear returns to right tackle where he started last year.

DE
Huckeba, Jeb
Fisher, Bryce
Pollard, Robert
Darren Howard
Joe Tafoya
Darion Scott
Replaced Grant Winstrom with the more talented Darren Howard for less than half the price. Hoping Howard can return to the form that had the Saints franchise him two years in a row. Bryce Fisher, who recorded nine sacks last year, will start opposite of him. Also in the mix is second year DE Darrion Scott, formerly a third round pick, who recorded 55 tackles last year.

DT
Terrill, Craig
Darby, Chartric
Tubbs, Marcus
Ron Edwards
Hated losing Rocky Bernard, but paying $6 million after one year of production was unreasonable. Former first rounder Marcus Tubbs will fill in for him and start beside Chuck Darby, who had an excellent year last year. Ron Edwards, formerly of the Bills, will be the primary backup. Envision a late 90's scheme with large D-tackles to keep guards off of Tatupu.

LB
Hill, Leroy
Tatupu, Lofa
Donald, Tony
Koutouvides, Niko
Lewis, De'Andre
Kacyvenski, Isaiah
Spencer Havner
Brandon Short
Added veteran Brandon Short to strong side linebacker to compliment second year standout Leroy Hill and rookie probowler Lofa Tatupu. Short will compete with last year's starter DD Lewis and rookie Spencer Havner.

CB
Trufant, Marcus
Herndon, Kelly
Dyson, Andre
Jimmy Williams
Rashean Mathis
Really excited about the entire secondary. Added young standout Rashean Mathis to compete with Trufant for the number one corner spot. Envision a Madison/Surtain like duo for years to come. Herndon and Dyson will compete with safety Nick Collins for the Nickel spot and give an exceptional safety net in the event of injury to one of the starters. FYI, that's not the rookie Jimmy Williams.

S
Pruitt, Etric
Hamlin, Ken
Boulware, Michael
Nick Collins
Hopefully Ken Hamlin returns to reunite the duo that was so good two years ago. In the event that he doesn't return, we added Nick Collins from Green Bay to fill in the FS spot. We're confident that the 'hammer' will return, and that both he and Boulware will return to form.

K
Josh Brown
Probowler

P
Chris Kluwe
Exceptional rookie punter who we were very excited to add for 250k. Replaced a 45 year old with a 22 year old who was making a push for the probowl last year.

In conclusion, we may not have the star power of some of these teams, but coming off of a Super Bowl appearance, we feel that we've made the right moves to keep our championship chemistry while adding a few key elements.

Indianapolis Colts

Overview of the 2006-07 Indianapolis Colts

The 2006-07 Colts will be one of the top contenders in the NFL for the Super Bowl. With one of top, if not the top, offenses in the league, the Colts will being scoring points on any defense on sight. With Peyton Manning running the show, throwing the balls to receivers like Marvin Harrion, Lavarnues Coles, Koren Robinson, and Az-Zahr Hakim, the passing game will be at all time highs. Edgerrin James will prove his worth once again, running over all defenses and even catching a few balls now and then. The Indianapolis Colts defense has vastly improved. With the defensive being ran as 3-4 once again this year, the line will be anchored by the likes of Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, and Cory Simon. All three are pro bowl linemen. The linebacker position has improved, adding Pro Bowlers left and right. June and Brackett were resigned as one of the top MLB’s were brought to the Colts in Nick Barnett and a great OLB in Jamie Sharper was added. Two very good rookie linebackers were added as well. The cornerback position was upgraded as well, adding one of the top cornerbacks in Ken Lucas. Also adding a rising star in Ellis Hobbs, who had a great year as a rookie in New England. The safety position will be tough to beat, with Lance Schulters and Bob Sanders going side by side. And the specials teams will be very good once again with Vanderjagt and Smith returning. The newly acquired Koren Robinson will make the kick and punt returns a big threat to opposing teams. The Colts are built for now and the future, possibly the best team out there today.

Quarterback
1. Peyton Manning, 1,000,000
2. Seneca Wallace, 250,000
3. Kliff Kingsbury, 250,000

The Indianapolis Colts return with their future hall of fame quarterback, Peyton Manning, under center. The Colts have the top quarterback in the NFL, with the addition of Seneca Wallace, who will play as Manning’s back up, has shown flashes of reliance as he backed up Matt Hassellback in Seattle. Also signed was Kliff Kingsbury, who has an amazing college career, as a project quarterback to back up Wallace. With Manning under center, the Colts no doubt will have an unstoppable vertical game.

Halfback
1. Edgerrin James, 5,200,000
2. Dominic Rhodes, 550,000
3. Fred Russell 235,000

The Indianapolis Colts have resigned one of the top running backs in the league, Edgerrin James. The Colts will easily be able to switch from the pass game to the running game with Jame’s ability to run the ball with power and speed. James’ ability to catch the ball is another threat to the Indianapolis backfield. With a good back up in Dominic Rhodes and a shifty change of pace back in Fred Russell, the Colts have one of the best running back positions in the league.

Fullback
1. Naufahu Tahi, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

The Colts usually do not use a fullback in their offense, as they have been known to run many 4 receiver sets and singleback formations. The addition of Naufahu Tahi will bring new gameplans available to the Colts. Naufahu is only a rookie, but he should be able to open up the running game and do what he has to do. Adding Tahi not only added talent to the Colts offense, but also added more play options.

Wide Receiver
1. Marvin Harrison, 2,000,000
2. Lavarnues Coles, 2,000,000
3. Koren Robinson, 1,900,000
4. Az-Zahr Hakim, 250,000
5. Ben Obomanu, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

The Indianapolis Colts have one of the fastest wide receiver corps in the league. With Marvin Harrison leading the troops, the Colts will easily be known as a major passing threat. The Colts made sure the Manning/Harrison duo would continue, the chemistry between these two must not be ruined matter what. The additions of Lavarnues Coles, Koren Robinson, Az-Zahr Hakim, and Ben Obomanu will add more speed and more options for Manning to throw to. Peyton Manning can make a star out of anyone, it wasn’t long ago when he had 3 receivers with over 1,000 yards. One may go against Robinson and his off the field issues, the Colts realize that this past year he’s stayed out of trouble and he can return to a rising star in the NFL like he once was. Peyton should be able to use all these player’s speeds to his advantage, giving the Colts one of the best WR corps in the league.

Tight End
1. Dallas Clark, 648,000
2. Ernie Conwell, 250,000
3. Benjamin Hartsock, 385,000

The Indianapolis Colts have an up and coming Pro Bowler in Dallas Clark. Clarks showed flashes of greatness last year and should do well this year. With Manning under center, it’ll definetly give Clark a chance of showing off his skills. With Conwell and Hartsock backing up Clark, the Colts have the needed depth at tight end.

Left Tackle
1. Tarik Glenn, 3,350,000
2. Jahri Evans, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

Left Guard
1. Kris Dielman, 1,000,000
2. Dylan Gandy, 310,000

Center
1. Jeff Saturday, 1,750,000
2. Patrick Ross, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

Right Guard
1. Jake Scott, 385,000
2. Matt Ulrich, 310,000

Right Tackle
1. Ryan Diem, 2,500,000
2. Zach Strief, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

Although Indianapolis offensive line may be old in the left tackle and center regions, the Colts brought in two rookies, Zach Strief and Jahri Evans, that has much potential in the offensive tackle region. Also added was rookie center Patrick Ross. The team of Glenn, Dielman, Saturday, Scott, and Diem will get the job done again this year. The Colts GM did his best to make sure that chemistry was not messed with, as 4 out of the 5 starting offensive linemen are from last years line up. Good chemistry will equal sucess for this offensive line. And with a good offensive line, Manning and Co. will bring out the passing game and James will capitalize the running game. No doubt about this one bit.

Left Defensive End
1. Dwight Freeney, 5,000,000
2. Alvin McKinney, 500,000
3. Josh Thomas, 385,000

Right Defensive End
1. Robert Mathis DE 1,318,000
2. Alvin McKinney, 500,000
3. Mike Kudla, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

The Indianapolis Colts have two of the top defensive ends in the NFL in Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis. These two ends will lead the defensive line of the Colts and will pick up many sacks and tackles and bring fear into every quarterback’s eyes. With a solid depth in the defensive end region, the Colts look very good in the upcoming season at the defensive end position. Also adding McKinney will help the lose of Raheem Brock. The addition of rookie Kudla should bring potential to the OSU defensive end.

Defensive Tackle
1. Corey Simon, 2,500,000
2. Lionel Dalton, 250,000
3. Anthony Bryant, 250,000

The Indianapolis Colts’ Defensive Tackle area may be their weakest link, but none the less, in the 4-3 defense, Simon and Dalton will be able to anchor the defensive line. Simon is still very young and is a great athlete and a good defensive tackle. Dalton will be used as the NT in the 3-4, using his size, yes all 315+ pounds of him, to clog the middle. Meanwhile, Corey Simon will be switching to RE to replace Robert Mathis in the 3-4. Anthony Bryant will be used as a NT in the 3-4 when needed, as he has great size (6'3", 336 lb), and although young, he can be molded into a good nose tackle in time.

Left Outside Linebacker
1. Jamie Sharper, 1,500,000
2. Clint Ingram, 250,000 (ROOKIE)

Middle Linebacker
1. Nick Barnett, 601,000
2. Gary Brackett, LB $1,318,000
3. Abdul Hodge, 400,000 (ROOKIE)

Right Outside Linebacker
1. Cato June LB, $1,318,000
2. Gilbert Gardner, 385,000

The Indianapolis Colts have really went to work at their linebacker position. All four of their starting linebackers were possible free agents, they were only able to resign Brackett and June. The Colts added one of the top MLB’s in the league, Nick Barnett, and a great OLB in Jamie Sharper. With the inexperience that is in the Colts linebacker corp, Sharper brings much needed experience. And with two of the top linebackers in the NFL draft, Abdul Hodge and Clint Ingram, the Colts linebacker corp is set for years.

Cornerback
1. Ken Lucas, 2,500,000
2. Duane Starks, 600,000
3. Ellis Hobbs, 310,000
4. Jason David, 385,000
5. Roderick Hood, 800,000

The Colts cornerback area was a big weak spot last year. With the lose of Nick Harper, the Colts brought in Ken Lucas, a younger and much better corner. Also brought in, Duane Starks and Roderick Hood. These two will definetly help the corner position of the Colts. Second year player Ellis Hobbs was traded to Indianapolis as well, as Hobbs started in New England as a rookie, picking up 3 interceptions and a good amount of tackles. The Colts have improved their cornerback corps and should be a threat for quarterbacks.

Free Safety
1. Lance Schulters, 800,000
2. Matt Giordano, 310,000

The Indianapolis Colts brought in Lance Schulters from Free Agency. Lance had a good year in Miami this past season and will bring experience and a smart free safety. Lance will help the Colts with the backfield of the defense. Backing up Schulters is Matt Giordano, he did well as a back up last year and he will be solid again this year. With the addition of Schulters, the Colts have definetly improved the safety position.

Strong Safety
1. Bob Sanders, 385,000
2. Mark Roman, 250,000

The Colts moved Bob Sanders from Free Safety to Strong Safety with his ability to make hard hits, speed, and coverage ability. Sanders will put fear in all receivers and running backs he will cover. Sanders has been known as one of the hardest hitter in the league and will continue his dominance in the NFL. Sanders was an All Pro Free Safety last year. Backing him up is former SS of the Green Bay Packers, Mark Roman. Mark is a great back up for the Colts.

Kicker
1. Mike Vanderjagt, 1,250,000

Punter
1. Hunter Smith, 670,000

Kick Returner
1. Koren Robinson
2. Az Zahr Hakim
3. Fred Russell

Punt Returner
1. Koren Robinson
2. Az Zahr Hakim

The Colts have a good special teams unit, with Vanderjagt returning as the Colts kicker, he is known as one of the top kickers in the league. Hunter Smith will be the punter again this year and will do well as usual. Returning punts and kicks will be Koren Robinson, who showed his worth last year in Minnesota, making a few return touchdowns. Backing him up will be speedsters Az Zahr Hakim and Fred Russell. The Colts have a very good special teams unit that should rack up a few points.

Phildelphia's Draft Picks:
3rd Round:
Derek Hagan, Richard Marshall, Reggie McNeal
4th Round:
Will Allen

QB:
Given that we have the obvious starter in McNabb, we also have a proven veteran to back him up. That only leaves one questionable decision her, Reggie McNeal. Although many have said he'll become a receiver in the NFL, we believe that with the right coaching, he can become a starting caliber quarterback. But if worst comes to worst, with that 4.35 speed, he can easily become an addition to our receiving core.

RB:
Brian Westbrook is obviously our starting runningback with Josh Parry at fullback. That leaves Correll Buckhalter and Ryan Moats to battle for the backup job. We believe that Buckhalter is a 3rd down back.

WR:
Wow, what can I say here. We have an unbelievable group of guys for McNabb to throw to down the field. After trading Terrell Owens attitude away, added Andre Johnson, Rod Gardner, and Jerome Pathon. But thats not it, through last years draft Philadelphia had aquired a young stud in the making with Reggie Brown. And in this years draft, remarkably, we were able to steal Derek Hagan in the third round. But no folks, that's not it... we also added the best known return man in the game... The X Factor, Dante Hall. What an incredible group of guys.

TE:
Once again, another elite athelete for McNabb to throw to down the field... Antonio Gates. Also at the number 2 spot at tightend, we aquired Kris Wilson. Wilson was the Chiefs second round pick in 2004 and we believe this kid has a lot of potential.

OL:
Starting at left tackle we have the well known Eagle, Jon Runyan. In his eleventh season (10th starting), he's still standing dominant on his 6'7" 330 lbs. frame. Easily still a force to be reconed with. At left guard we have Artis Hicks who is going into his 4th season. He will be battling for that position with the young Adrien Clarke and also this years draftee, Will Allen. Returning from his injury last season, Hank Fraley will be at center with Jamaal Jackson backing him. At right guard we have the young Shawn Andrews who will be starting for his second season. And at right tackle we have John Welbourn from Kansas City who is another veteran with plent of experience.

DL:
Wow, what another great group of with great depth. Starting from left to right we have: Jevon Kearse, Mike Patterson, Warren Sapp, and Terrel Suggs. All of whome are notable veterans who know how to play the game. Although the aging Warren Sapp shows little wear and tear, we backed him up with a notable prospect in CJ Mosley. Playing in 12 games last year, he recorded 19 tackles, 3 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. He will deffinitely be capable of taking over the starting role after Sapps days...

LB:
Once again, another threatening force. The two big guys in our backfield are Trotter and Spikes, who need no introduction. For the other spot, we have Dhani Jones who has not had too shabby of a career.

CB:
Our first cornerback we have Sheldon Brown, who we believe is capable of the number one spot. Last season he recorded 56 tackles and 4 interceptions including 1 touchdown. On the other side of the field we have Leigh Bodden. Last season in 13 games with the Browns, he was able to get 56 tackles with 3 interceptions. We believe this kid hasn't been given the opportunity to show what he's really made of. Also in our core of cornerbacks we have Andre Goodman and Willie Middlebrooks. Another name to add to the list is Richard Marshall, an amazing prospect that we were able to get another steal out of in the 3rd round!

S:
At SS we have an extremely solid player from the Chiefs named Grew Wesley. Last year, he was able to record 82 tackles with 6 interceptions. Also backing him up we have a great young player in Kerry Rhodes from the Jets. At FS we have a solid veteran in Troy Vincent. All in all, we have a great team with a lot of depth. A team, in my opinion, with an extremly talented group of players capable of winning it all!

QUARTERBACK
Tom Brady - - Josh McCown - - Kerry Collins

QB Tom Brady
He’s poised, cool and collected under center and has three very good reasons on his fingers for being dubbed by man to be the best Quarterback in the NFL today. He might not get the media attention like Peyton Manning for his numbers, but his 4110 Passing Yards and 26 Touchdowns to 14 Interceptions in 2005 shows why he is in the elite of the NFL passers. Tom Brady is a lock for the Hall of Fame and will continue to lead the New England Patriots for years to come.
Salary: $4,000,000.00

QB Josh McCown (Free Agent Acquisition)
Backing up Tom Brady is a former Third Round pick from 2002, how is good scrambling on his feet and very underrated young QB. Josh McCown was more effective at winning games than Kurt Warner was, but does not get the credit he deserves because he as spent the last three seasons behind a terrible Offensive line in Arizona. Now he will be given tutelage he needs to be a viable starter down the line by Tom Brady and the Patriots coaching staff.
Salary: $1,500,000.00

QB Kerry Collins (Free Agent Acquisition)
Fighting for the Back up spot will be Kerry Collins who has a powerful arm and the experience in playing in a Superbowl going for him. Last year threw over 3700 yards with 20 Touchdowns. It’s surprising that the Patriots were able to acquire a player of his ability to play either the second or third quarterback spot at such a bargain salary.
Salary: $750,000.00

RUNNINGBACK
Jamal Lewis - - Kevin Faulk - - Jonathan Wells
Patrick Pass - - Jesse Lumsden

HB Jamal Lewis (Free Agent Acquisition)
Corey Dillon was nearing 32 years old and on the decline of his career as the injuries finally caught up to him which prompted the Patriots to sign a Running Back to help ease his burden. Fortunately and unfortunately that Running Back would be Jamal Lewis, who holds the single game rushing record. Once again Lewis took something away from Dillon, this time it wasn’t a record but his job as the Patriots didn’t see a reason to carry two high priced backs. Lewis is five years younger than Dillon and a much more powerful North-South runner who is explosive through the hole and hard to take down, even though he struggled last year with the Ravens he will have little trouble behind a very deep and talented New England O-Line.
Salary: $3,000,000.00

HB Kevin Faulk (Restructured Contract Through Free Agency)
Kevin Faulk was resigned for close to half his original salary and offers a nice change of pace back that can catch out of the backfield and offers more offensive schemes utilizing the screen which will help catch defenses off guard after trying to tackle Jamal Lewis and his running game. He has been effective as an alternative back to power runners like Antoine Smith, Corey Dillon and now keeps the tradition alive with Jamal Lewis.
Salary: $800,000.00

HB Jonathan Wells (Free Agent Acquisition)
Jonathan Wells spent his time backing up Dominic Davis in Houston and comes over to New England as a more than capable third down back who also has good hands for catching the ball. He will see limited time being stuck behind Lewis and Faulk.
Salary: $250,000.00

FB Patrick Pass
Patrick Pass is a capable run blocker and can catch out of the backfield like Faulk and is one of the bright fullbacks in the game today.
Salary: $545,000.00

FB/HB Jesse Lumsden (Free Agent Acquisition)
Jesse Lumsden broke a lot of Canadian University records and passed up a chance to play at Wake Forest but now finds himself in New England as a ball carrying Fullback in limited situations, but can see his job grow if he can be successful this season backup Pass. A big strong ball carrier, proved that he can break for good yards in the East West Shrine game two years ago.
Salary: $250,000.00

WIDERECIEVERS
Deion Branch - - David Givens - - Bethel Johnson - - Bryant Johnson - - Rashaun Woods

WR Deion Branch
Not much has changed in the Wide Receiving corp for the Patriots except for the additions of two new receivers after Troy Brown and Tim Dwight left through free agency. Deion Branch is still entrenched as Tom Brady’s number one target and is as quick and tough a sure handed catcher as he’s been.
Salary: $545,000.00

WR David Givens (Transitioned Player)
David Givens was marked with the transition tag to stay as the number two receiver across from Branch. From being a former Seventh round selection to a substantial pay raise Givens has all the tools to be a number one receiver but is a solid target opposite Deion Branch, Givens averaged 800 reception yards and 2.5 Touchdowns the past two seasons.
Salary: $2,600,000.00

WR Bethel Johnson
Bethel Johnson is yet another speedy receiver that can help stretch the field in a vertical passing game and will be the third WR in three receiver sets, and can also return kicks and punts on special teams.
Salary: $478,000.00

WR Bryant Johnson (Trade Acquisition)
Add another speedy Johnson to the Patriots Wide Receiver Corp, this time it’s Bryant Johnson who has dazzling speed and athleticism that made him a first rounder in 2003, but has since fell behind Aquin Boldin in Arizona. He gives the Patriots another possible special teams returner with the loss of Troy Brown and Tim Dwight.
Salary: $602,500.00

WR Rashaun Woods (Trade Acquisition)
Rashaun Woods is the second of two first round receivers brought into the fold, but will have a hard time finding any playing time behind the other four. Unable to live up to his late first round selection Woods will have an opportunity to prove he is ready for the NFL after breaking every school and Big 12 conference records for games and career Woods has the pedigree to be a very good Reciever.
Salary: $435,000.00

TIGHTENDS
Daniel Graham - - Ben Watson

TE Daniel Graham
A big Tight End that can catch the ball Daniel Graham is one of two targets that can pass block. Though slowed down by injuries the past couple of seasons Graham still remains a red zone threat and can catch balls for the first down or big yards.
Salary: $545,000.00

TE Ben Watson
Ben Watson made his presence felt when he laid a massive hit on Champ Bailey in an AFC Playoff game last year. Showing great strength and good hands for catching, he can break free for big yards and is tough to bring down. After gaining over 400 yards last year Watson will find himself one of Tom Brady’s major weapons in his third season.
Salary: $460,000.00

OFFENSIVE LINE
Matt Light - - Logan Mankins - - Dan Koppen - - Trey Teague - - Jason Fabini
Adam Terry - - Steve McKinney - - Nick Kaczur - - Russ Hochstein - - Brandon Gorin

LT Matt Light
He won’t be confused with Walter Jones or Jonathan Ogden but Matt Light is effective left tackle at the NFL level regardless. He was part of an offensives line that allowed only 63 sacks over the span of two seasons in 2002-2003. He finds himself anchoring one of the more talented Offensive lines in recent seasons in New England.
Salary: $1,000,000.00

LG Logan Mankins
Drafted 31st last year out Fresno State Logan Mankins went on to start all 16 games in his rookie season with the Patriots. Last year there were a lot of injuries to the line but Mankins showed just how good he can be and will continue to play to a high standard that is expected of him, after a year in Belichik’s system Mankins will eventually prove to be a pro bowl level guard.
Salary: $370,000.00

C Dan Koppen
Injuries cut his season short last year after only 9 games but Dan Koppen has been a steady force at the Center position as he has started 40 of 41 games the past 3 seasons. A smart and tough player Koppen will look to bounce back and show why he made Damien Woody expendable in New England.
Salary: $460,000.00

RG/C/OT Trey Teague (Free Agent Acquisition)
Trey Teague is a 9 year veteran of the NFL starting his career in Denver but spent the last four seasons in Buffalo as a Center and starting 76 games, playing only 12 in 2004 because of injuries. Teague is a consistent player who can play Center or Tackle as well as Guard.
Salary: $250,000.00

RT Jason Fabini (Free Agent Acquisition)
Jason Fabini spent the his entire career with the New York Jets until he signed with New England this offseason, since 1998 he has started every game he’s played in. Making 114 starts in his first 8 seasons, and has only missed time in two seasons both in 1999 and 2005 when he was limited to 9 games. A strong veteran presence Fabini will be moved to Right Tackle where he will be able to stay healthy.
Salary: $1,500,000.00

OT Adam Terry (Trade Acquisition)
Adam Terry is a big 6’7 second year player who will be working behind Matt Light, drafted in the second round by the Ravens last year, Terry is a steal who was acquired in a trade for Safety James Sanders (Who has since been reacquired). Terry has the size to play Left Tackle, but there are question marks about his footwork and strength. However Adam is more than ready to play the Right Side of the line, he will only be used to fill in for injuries but would be starting at Right Tackle if not for the arrival of Jason Fabini.
Salary: $310,000.00

OG/C Steve McKinney (Free Agent Acquisition)
The Patriots added a lot of depth to their Offensive Line through trades and free agency. Steve McKinney was signed to a $900,000 contract to back up Logan Mankins and fellow 8 year starter Trey Teague. McKinney was part of the Houston Texans O-line that allowed David Carr to earn the nickname “On Her Back†Shirley from 2002-2005. Although he was part of the record setting 76 sack club, McKinney has 124 Starts out of 124 games since his rookie season in 1998. A talented guard McKinney won’t be allowing too many sacks in New England.
Salary: $900,000.00

OT/C Nick Kaczur
Nick Kaczur was a third round selection last year and started 11 of 14 games at Left Tackle but this Brantford, Ontario native has the versatility to play Center but may find himself behind Dan Koppen, Matt Light and Jason Fabini. In college he also saw time in the backfield picking up 49 yards on two carries. He might not be Walter Payton but he has size, speed and strength that allows him to play all over the line.
Salary: $310,000.00

OG Russ Hochstein
Russ Hochstein has started only 10 of 48 games in his career thus far, but has shown versatility beyond blocking. In 2004 he started in the AFC Championship game, where he also lined up as a third tight end. He also started Superbowl XXXIX where he would find himself lined up as a fullback for a Corey Dillon 2 yard run. Not an every week starter but an effective spot starter at Left Guard Russ Hochstein has a lot of value as a very versatile player.
Salary: $600,000.00

OT Brandon Gorin
Starting 18 of 25 games the past two seasons Brandon Gorin finds himself as Jason Fabini’s backup where he is a good fall back option in case of injury. At 6’6 and 308 pounds Gorin is a good sized Tackle who can also play Guard.
Salary: $550,000.00

DEFENSE (3-4 Scheme)

DEFENSIVE LINE
Aaron Kampman - - Vince Wilfork - - Richard Seymour
Ty Warren - - Dan Klecko - - Jarvis Green
Marquise Hill - - Marcus Bell

LE Aaron Kampman (Free Agent Acquistion)
Last year Aaron Kampman quietly put up his most successful season in his five years in the league as a starter for Green Bay racking up 81 Tackles, 6.5 Sacks and 3 Forced Fumble. He won’t be a star name but continues to be one of the hardest working Defensive Ends in the game who continues to improve and displays the workman attitude that the Patriots are looking for. One of the biggest steals in Free Agency, Kampman has been written into start opposite Pro-Bowler Richard Seymour and offers a good sized body for the 3-4 scheme.
Salary: $500,000.00

NT Vince Wilfork
Vince Wilfork is a big man in the middle where he has shined in his first two seasons piling up 96 Tackles and 2.5 sacks, he will continue to be the Patriots big Nose Tackle and provides a strong presence as a Run Stopper and at 325 pounds will be hard to avoid.
Salary: $440,000.00

RE Richard Seymour
A Pro Bowler for the past three seasons, Richard Seymour has the strength to play Defensive Tackle but will be spending most of the time coming off the edge at Right End. He is the leading tackler of the Patriots Defensive Line and only managed 47 tackles and 6 sacks in 12 games last year. One of the driving forces of the Patriots defense he was voted captain by his teammates in 2003 and 2004. Next season Seymour will be healthier than ever and ready to continue as a disruptive force on the defensive line for New England.
Salary: $5,020,000.00

DE Ty Warren
Fighting for his Left End position Ty Warren is ready to prove that he should be a starter, with a career best 77 tackles last year (Third best on the team) Warren provides great size at 6’5 and 307 pounds to bookend a formidable Defensive line in the 3-4 scheme. As a special note Ty Warren’s first career sack came against Jay Fiedler, then of the Dolphins in a 13-10 victory in 2003.
Salary: $685,000.00

DT Dan Klecko
It’s tough finding playing time behind a lot of talented athletes, especially New England’s Defensive Line but Dan Klecko has seen his share of time on the line, and as a fullback. He also has some good hands which he proved by catching an 11 yard pass from Tom Brady in 2004 against the Seahawks. At 5’11 he is one of the smaller defensive lineman but is strong enough to relieve Vince Wilfork at Defensive Tackle from time to time.
Salary: $460,000.00

DE Jarvis Green
Jarvis Green remains a steady presence behind Richard Seymour and comes out to play in the big games. He started in every game during the 2004 Playoffs and put together a nice post season with 7 tackles, 1 sack and a forced fumble. His best Playoff performance was in 2003 when he collected 6 tackles and sacked perennial pro-bowl quarterback 2.5 times in the AFC Championship game. Offering big game experience, Jarvis Green is a solid backup and will find himself in position to make many more big plays.
Salary: $545,000.00

DE Marquise Hill
Marquise Hill is a big 6’6 Defensive End who is once again going to struggle to find time playing on a loaded Patriots line. He played 1 game in 2004 and 8 games last year he was able to rack up a total of 3 Tackles. Coming into his third season Hill will continue to develop under the rest of the Patriots lineman and will see his job grow as the season wears on.
Salary: $385,000.00

DT Marcus Bell (Free Agent Acquisition)
Marcus Bell was brought in as added depth behind Wilfork and Klecko. In the past two seasons he’s managed 46 tackles and 2 sacks with the Lions. He will have to work hard to find substantial playing time but could overtake Dan Klecko as the backup Nose Tackle.
Salary: $350,000.00

LINEBACKERS
Jonathan Vilma - - Ted Bruschi - - Mike Vrabel - - Chad Greenway
Larry Izzo - - Ronald McKinnon - - Zeke Moreno - - Ryan Nece
Brett Keisel - - Justin Snow

LOLB Jonathan Vilma (Trade Acquisition)
Jonathan Vilma is off to a fast start in his career posting back to back seasons with 100+ tackles. In 2005 he had 169 tackles, he earned AP Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2004 and was a nice surprise when he was acquired for two second round picks in this years draft. Vilma is a smart player who can call plays on the line and a solid tackler, playing alongside with Ted Bruschi will only make him that much better and see the game in an even more cerebral light. He was the first linebacker chosen in the 2004 draft and is proving why he deserved it.
Salary: $667,500.00

LILB Ted Bruschi
The heart of the New England Patriots Ted Bruschi is the unquestioned leader of this defense. Suffering a stroke that kept him out of most of last season, Teddy returned to the Patriots for the final 9 games of the season and racked up 69 tackles. Part of Arizona’s desert swarm defense in college as a defensive end but was deemed too small to play on the Defensive Line in the NFL made the switch to Linebacker and 11 seasons later proved to be the emotional cog that help the Patriots win three Superbowls. Bruschi will provide mentorship for young linebacker Jonathan Vilma, Chad Greenway and Ryan Nece.
Salary: $1,350,000.00

RILB Mike Vrabel
Mike Vrabel is known for his growing ability at Tight End on goal line situations and in his career has had 5 receptions all for a score. His ability to play offense and defense makes him a valuable commodity to New England. This year he will be starting in the middle beside Ted Bruschi. Originally drafted by the Steelers Vrabel has been a steady contributor to the defense and had his best year statistically in 2005 with 76 tackles and 4 sacks at Outside linebacker. He will be able to switch from inside to outside and still be effective.
Salary: $1,500,000.00

ROLB Chad Greenway (Draft Pick #21st Overall)
A star out of Iowa, Chad Greenway was one of the most productive Linebackers in college and was ranked second behind AJ Hawk. His stock dropped due to poor workouts but his production in college is hard to ignore. Greenway is a sure tackler and can drop back in coverage, he has good size and just loves to play.
Salary: $500,000.00

OLB Larry Izzo
L to the Izzo, Larry Izzo made the Pro Bowl in 2000 as a Dolphin for his special teams play when he compiled 31 special teams tackle. Since moving to the Patriots in 2001 he has been voted Special Teams captain in the past five seasons in New England and provides a strong work ethic in the less than glamorous and thankless work of a special teamster. Larry Izzo earned his third pro bowl appearance in 2004 and is the leading tackler in his 6 seasons with the Patriots on Special Teams. He will continue to lead the way for the Patriots on special teams this season.
Salary: $670,000.00

MLB Ronald McKinnon (Free Agent Acquisition)
The New England Patriots set out to make their team better by adding veteran talent at bargain prices, the first to be signed was Linebacker Ronald McKinnon a 10 year veteran who spent last year with the New Orlean Saints racking up 57 solo tackles and 17 assissts. McKinnon best pro year was in 1999 when he established a franchise record for the Arizona Cardinals with 223 tackles (106 solo, 117 assisst) becoming the first Cardinal to surpass 200 tackles.
Salary: $250,000.00

MLB Zeke Moreno (Free Agent Acquisition)
The Patriots added 5 year veteran Zeke Moreno who spent his first few years with the San Diego Chargers having his best year in 2003 with 79 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 2 force fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Zeke along with Ronald McKinnon add much needed depth in the middle with the lost of Chad Brown and Rosevelt Colvin.
Salary: $250,000.00

OLB Ryan Nece (Trade Acquisition)
Designated to start until the Patriots drafted Chad Greenway, Ryan Nece filled in admirable last year for Tampa Bay due to injuries where he picked up 104 tackles. Nece is an intelligent Linebacker with starting experience, and one of the top special teams performer during his time in Tampa Bay. Also the son of NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, Nece has the pedigree for the game and off the field is one of the most outstanding teammates and community leaders on any team. He will add a lot to the New England specials team with Larry Izzo and will see time on off plays by Chad Greenway as he learns the game on a pro level.
Salary: $700,000.00

OLB/DE Brett Keisel (Free Agent Acquisition)
Brett Keisel is a former Steeler and on the Superbowl winning club in 2005, he brings a lot of versatility at both the linebacker and defensive end position where he can be plugged in from shifting 3-4 and 4-3 schemes. Yet another special teams player Keisel’s signing made Tully Banta-Cain expendable. Keisel is a good natured individual who plays hard and will strengthen not only depth at lineback and defensive end but on the special teams as well.
Salary: $250,000.00

LB/Long Snapper Justin Snow (Free Agent Acquisition)
Justin Snow is late of the Colts and a key player in their special teams. Snow was the Long Snapper for Hunter Smith and Mike Vanderjagt over the past six seasons and made 96 straight appearances for the Colts. Justin Snow signing allowed the Patriots to work on their Offensive Line depth by releasing Lonnie Paxton in favor of several Offensive Line veterans. Justin Snow has shown his consistency in a very specialized role and will help making kicks easier for Adam Vinatieri which is a scary thought for opposing teams against the most clutch kicker in the game.
Salary: $250,000.00

DEFENSIVEBACKS
Marlin Jackson - - Eugene Wilson - - Rodney Harrison - - Asante Samuel
Antonio Cromartie - - Ryan Clark - - James Sanders - - Renaldo Hill
Jamar Fletcher - - Coy Wire

LCB Marlin Jackson (Trade Acquisition)
Marlin Jackson was a four year starter in college and drafted in the first round by the Colts. He started 1 game in 2005 and spent most of the season in nickel coverage where he amassed 52 tackles and 1 interception. After a year under the tutelage of Tony Dungy, Jackson was acquired in a trade for Ellis Hobbs and will now learn under another defensive guru in Bill Belichik. Jackson is slated to be the starter at Left Cornerback which was occupied most of last season by Hobbs. This is an upgrade in terms of value through the trade and hopefully pays off as Marlin has one season of experience under his belt.
Salary: $310,000.00

FS Eugene Wilson
Eugene Wilson has a knack for breaking up the pass and showed that ability since being drafted in 2003. A three year starter on the college level, Wilson has brought that ability to the pro game at Free Safety where he led the Patriots in interceptions with four, and tied for team lead in forced fumbles with three in 2004. A fluid moving Free Safety with a natural instinct for the ball makes Eugene Wilson one of the more dangerous defensive backs in the league.
Salary: $498,750.00

SS Rodney Harrison
Rodney Harrison is known for being one of the hardest hitting safeties in the league, and has the most sacks out of any defensive back in the league with 25. He is also the only player in league history to have 25 sacks and 30 interceptions in his 11 year career. In his first two seasons with the Patriots he’s led not only the defensive backs but the entire team in tackles, with 126 in 2003, and 141 in 2004. He was slowed down by injury last year but will be back at full strength for 2006 and has the ability to come up and take the run as well as fall back into coverage. He is finally being recognized for his ability in the later stage of his career after being tagged as a good for his vicious hits early on. Running Backs and Wide Receivers alike will have to be wary of the impact of the next Rodney Harrison tackle.
Salary: $2,100,000.00

RCB Asante Samuel
Asante Samuel has become a capable starter on the Right Corner after spending most of his rookie season as the fifth defensive back in 2003. He has done an admirable job since and continues to be a young corner that can cause problems for most receivers. With Rodney Harrison being healthy again, and the drafting of Cromartie, Samuel will not be under as much pressure last season but will be pushed for playing time by Cromartie and veterans Renaldo Hill and Jamar Fletcher.
Salary: $460,000.00

CB Antonio Cromartie (Draft Pick #23rd Overall)
Drafted Twenty third overall by the Patriots this year Cromartie has only one career start in his collegiate career. After all of last season was wiped out do to a leg injury Antonio’s size and athleticism was just too hard to ignore. A potential top ten pick next year if he opted to play next season at Florida, Cromartie offers size at 6’2 and the speed to be a game changer in a game. He will spend this season as the nickel or dime back and push for a starting position next season.
Salary: $500,000.00

FS Ryan Clark (Free Agent Acquisition)
Ryan Clark started 4 games in 2003 for the Giants and played in every game either on defense of special teams. He would then go on to start 11 of 15 games for injured Safeties Andre Lott and Matt Bowen for the Redskins in 2004. Ryan Clark has the ability to start but is seen by some as a journeyman for the most part of his career. However in New England it is expected that he will offer a capable backup for Eugene Wilson and adds another strong player to the special teams.
Salary: $1,000,000.00

S James Sanders (Reacquired Through Free Agency)
James Sanders showed flashes of being an outstanding Safety last year when he started 2 of 10 games during his rookie season where he made 13 tackles and had an interception for a touchdown. Not much is expected out of this season from the Fresno State product with the signing of Ryan Clark but he will gain more seasoning before eventually taking over for the elder statesman of New England’s defensive back Rodney Harrison in the future.
Salary: $250,000.00

CB Renaldo Hill (Free Agent Acquisition)
Renaldo Hill had his best season last year with 89 tackles and an interception for the Oakland Raiders and offers a great deal of depth for the Patriots after being signed in free agency. Hill will find himself in the role of a dime back and offers a good tackler with 5 years of experience split between his first four in Arizona and one in Oakland.
Salary: $250,000.00

CB Jamar Fletcher (Free Agent Acquisition)
Jamar Fletcher was a first round selection by the Dolphins in 2001 but hasn’t lived up to expectations. He has spent time in San Diego before signing with the Patriots for added depth and will be looked upon as the fifth cornerback for New England this season.
Salary: $250,000.00

SS Coy Wire (Trade Acquisition)
Coy Wire was a third round selection out of Stanford by the Bills, and has 5 years of experience. He is a great special teams player and will be looked upon to help the New England Patriots on kickoff and punt returns. Coy will find himself in a more limited role but could see expansion depending on injuries and his performance.
Salary: $650,000.00

KICKER

Adam Vinatieri (Franchised Player)
Mr. Clutch was an unrestricted free agent this year, but once again the New England Patriots used their franchise tag to keep him in Foxboro for yet another year. His leg is tied to championships he’s won on kicks and remains a consistent threat in tough situations. Although he hasn’t kicked a 50 yard field goal in a while he is still the most consistent kicker in the league.
Salary: $2,800,000.00

PUNTER

Josh Miller
A reliable punter for the Patriots, Josh Miller returns for another year as the other set of legs in Foxboro.
Salary: $770,000.00

FINAL ROSTER 2006 FINAL SALARY: 49,518,250 roster size 55

QB Chris Simms / Matt Cassell / Joey Harrington/ Eric Meyer (R)

Simms proved to be effective in Chuckie's offense late last season and we believe he won the team over with his toughness and grit which was on display with his almost miraculous comeback against the stifling Redskin defense that was only derailed by a dropped touchdown pass in last year's playoff loss. We were happy with his 80 QB rating, positive TD/INT ratio (10-7), 61% completion percentage and we expect further improvement in 2006 due partly to his maturation and partly to the added firepower we surrounded him with on offense. Though comfortable with Simms for this season, we did look to upgrade the position for future seasons, in case Simms cant continue to progress. By bringing in 2nd year Matt Cassell, Joey Harrington and rookie Erik Meyer we felt we addressed the need of the future. Harrington is a reclamation project who we felt was worth a shot and we took another shot with Erik Meyer. The person we see as a steal is Matt Cassell who from the limited play we saw of him the last preseason and against Miami convinced us that eventually he'll be a starter and possible future star. Tampa doesnt expect anyone here to take us at our word but we're hoping for a Brady injury to prove our point. An 89 QB rating in his rookie season and the fact that New England didnt go after a QB in free agency or the draft says it all to us. Due to there being a debate about roster size being 53 or 55 we will cut Erik Meyer if the final decision is 53

FB Mike Alstott / Verron Haynes
RB Carnell Williams / Michael Pittman

Being perfectly happy with the trio of Williams, Pittman and Alstott we saw no reason to mess with what we felt was a good combo of power and speed. We added interchangeable Verron Haynes to round out our running back group and feel he was an upgrade in the depth department

WR Joey Galloway / Shaun McDonald/ Scottie Vines
WR Keenan McCardell / Cedric Wilson/ Jonathan Orr (R)/ Todd Watkins (R)

The Chuckies are very excited by the influx of talent we brought in to upgrade the WR position. Keenan McCardell (917 yds / 9 tds) is a huge upgrade over Michael Clayton (372 yds / 0 tds) and we felt that youngsters Shaun McDonald and Scottie Vines were upgrades over the declining Ike Hilliard. Cedric Wilson caught our eye with his two huge games against the Bengals and Broncos in the playoffs last year and the two late round draft choices we picked for their speed 4.45 (Watkins) and combo size speed 4.45 6'2" 198 (Orr).

TE Alex Smith / Vishante Shiancoe

We feel this will be the year where Alex Smith elevates himself into the media's spotlight. Alex had a nice rookie debut last year with 41 receptions for 367 yds and 2 tds. At 258 he can also lay the wood. He showed great improvement as a blocker and ended the season as a physical blocker opening holes for Tampa's running game. He see continued improvement and a 600 yd season emerging from the 2nd year player. Vishante Shiancoe is ready to finally bloom in our opinion. Having watched him towards the end of last season, he was getting open on the routes and Eli kept missing him. The stats are nothing as of yet but we feel 2006 will see far better production out of Vishante as it seems he really didnt figure out the game until the last quarter of 2005. Coming from Morgan State, the slow development was to be expected.

LOT Kevin Shaffer /
LOG Dan Buenning / Chris Liwienski
C Andy McCollum / Sean Mahan
ROG Anthony Davis / Rex Tucker
ROT Kenyatta Walker / Jeremy Trueblood (R)

Tampa is absolutely thrilled with the improvement they were able to accomplish this offseason on the offensive line. With newcomers Kevin Shaffer (only 3 sacks given up in 2005) and Andy McCollum sandwhiching rookie sensation Dan Buenning, we feel we have put together a formidable left side of the line that will absolutely demolish running holes for Cadillac to run through while keeping Simms nice and safe in the passing game. By moving Anthony Davis to ROG, a position we feel he's better suited for, we believe we have improved the right side of the line as well. Kenyatta Walker manning the ROT position needs a little motivation periodically to play up to his skill level and so we drafted Jeremy Trueblood with our 21st pick in the 4th round (actually drafted by tampa in the 2nd rd pick 27 - lol) to back up Kenyatta and get him to play to his skill level. He was an absolute steal in the 4th round. We didnt finish there. We brought in Rex Tucker and Chris Liwienski as backup guards with Sean Mahan backing up at Center. If an injury occurs to one of our tackles we will slide Anthony Davis back to tackle and insert one of our backups into the vacated guard opening. We feel we have a solid oline now which will give Simms the time he needs to find his improved recieving corps and cadillac, pittman and company should find holes all day long.

LDE James Hall /Greg Spires/ Victor Adeyanju (R)
LDT Chris Hovan / Luis Castillo / Kendrick Clancy
RDT Anthony McFarland / Dan Wilkinson
RDE Simeon Rice / Demetric Evans / Dewayne White

What are the Chuckies if not stifling defense. Tampa went into this season not really looking to upgrade the defensive line much but as offers were made we started to realize we were putting together one of the great defensive lines in the game. We believe we put together an absolute sick defensive tackle contingent one that may allow us to experiment with a 5-2-4 alignment (Dansby and Quarles as LBs). Hovan and McFarland come back together for another season but we feel that Hovan will be backing up rookie sensation Luis Castillo by game three. Adding Kendrick Clancy (39 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles) and Run stopping stalwart Dan Wilkinson rounds out the sickest defensive tackle rotation in football. Simeon Rice returns as the starting RDE but he will be playing opposite James Hall (60 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles) with returning Greg Spires (47 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble) backing him up in the rotation. Demetric Evans adds some veteran skill backing up Rice and we have high hopes for our two young DEs to eventually crack the starting lineup in a couple years. Adeyanju may be an absolute steal. Weighing 268 lbs and running a 4.69, with a year's worth of seasoning and weight training we feel we drafted the eventual replacement of Rice.

SLB Karlos Dansby /Matt Stewart
MLB Shelton Quarles / Teddy Lehman/ Barrett Rudd
WLB Rocky McIntosh (R) / Keith Newman

Unfortunately due to Tampa's starting salary constraints (started the offseason at 67,433,250) We had to let Derrick Brooks go in a trade. We felt he was declining as a player and were fortunate to be able to bring over Karlos Dansby a rising star in that media desert of Arizona. He had a pro bowl type year last season and we expect him to get a pro bowl nomination this year. Coupled with Shelton Quarles and Rookie Rockie McIntosh we actually feel that we may have upgraded the LB crew overall. By adding Matt Stewart, Teddy Lehman, Keith Newman we were able to add three starters as our backups. If Rocky McIntosh isnt ready for prime time, we would slide Dansby back to WLB and put Stewart or Lehman into the SLB position, whoever did better in the preseason. Rudd we feel will develop nicely behind Quarles and we kept him for the future. Rudd will be cut if the final roster is determined to be 53 instead of 55

CB Ronde Barber / Willie Williams
CB Brian Kelly / Stanley Wilson/ DeMario Minter (R)
SS Marquend Manuel / Roman Harper (R)
FS Will Allen/ Clinton Hart

Although the starting CBs were great last year we felt we had to address the depth behind them. Willie Williams and Stanley Wilson provide great depth as they're both capable of starting should Kelly or Barber go down. Demario Minter was a nice pickup for us and we feel he may develop into a good #2 CB. We weren't happy with our safety position or depth and felt we solidified that area by grabbing some unheralded but talented players. Marquend Manuel can play both safety positions but we're going to stick him in the SS spot. He really came on last year and was an important component of Seattle's secondary. Roman Harper may just be the steal of the draft. Drafted in the 6th round (#25) by us (2nd rd 11th pick by the saints) we feel he may be able to step in right away and start smacking people around bama style. This is important because in case of injury to starting Will Allen at FS we would slide Manuel to FS and insert either Harper or Hart if he isnt ready. We were pleased with the emergence of Allen at FS last year and are expecting him to improve upon his 3 ints last year

K Joe Nedney
P Josh Bidwell

Bidwell punted for an average of 45.6 yds with a long of 61 and had 24 inside the 20. His average was 3rd best in the NFL last year with the top avg being 45.7 -lol. We intend to feed Bidwell plenty of steroids so he can add that extra tenth of a yard. We improved the kicking game by dropping Bryant and adding the 3rd ranked kicker by percentage of field goals made Joe Nedney. It's tough to beat 92.9 percent and when you add the fact that he can kick em from 50 + we feel we have an all pro tandem at the kicking spots.

Well there you have it folks. The Tampa Bay Chuckies are back and they are improved. With an improved passing game, improved offensive line, a sick defensive line, a potentially insane linebacking corps and very good secondary and all pro kicking game we feel there are very few teams that can compete with us.

If anyone is interested in seeing individual salaries or the original roster I was given and all the moves I had to make to get to the final roster here is my team page http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=124504
