Starters in RED

Jeff Garcia $1,100,000
Tony Romo $300,000
Chris Weinke $250,000

-Last year QB was one of the weakest positions on the football team. So Drew Henson was shipped out to Green Bay with his demands of wanting to start. Vinny was let go to sign elsewhere. Changes? Veteran Jeff Garcia was signed to a relatively cheap contract. Tony Romo will back him up; coaches think Romo can excel at the pro-level with what he's learned. Weinke is the emergency QB.

Julius Jones $305,000
Eric Shelton
Dominic Rhodes $1,000,000
Travis Minor $400,000
Mike Karney $305,000

-While the running game was slow with Eddie George pounding the ball, this year is expected to be much different. The offense will revolve around the running game. Julius Jones comes back 10lbs of muscle heavier and much healthier than he was his rookie campaign. He put up numbers last year that were making Cowboys fans go  . Since Bill Parcells likes the big, bruising inside the tackles RB, he drafted Eric Shelton in the 3rd round. Shelton will compliment Jones very well. Another RB they brought in was Dominic Rhodes, who's somewhat similiar to Jones in a way. Blocking the way for these guys will be Mike Karney. He's the next Daryl Johnston in the coaches eyes.

Keyshawn Johnson $1,500,000
Terry Glenn $1,500,000
Hines Ward - $1,668,750
Michael Lewis $540,000
Terrance Copper $305,000

With WR's going very early in the draft this past year, the Cowboys decided not to wait around and strike early with making the trade for Hines Ward. Ward can return punts, block extremely well, and has some of the best set of hands in the NFL. A true #1 WR. Alongside Ward will be Keyshawn Johnson and Terry Glenn. While most people will say that the Cowboys lack the deep-threat necessary to stretch the field, Terry Glenn will laugh in your face. Before getting injured last year, Glenn was on pace for one of his best seasons as a pro. He's coming back healthier than before, and you can always rely on Keyshawn for that over-the-middle slant pattern for the first down. Also watch out for Terrance Copper, the 2nd year youngster that showed towards the end of the season that when given playing time, he can produce. And he did. Talman Gardener has to be able to catch the ball. If not, he's still on the practice squad.

Dan Campbell $540,000
Jason Witten $380,000
Zach Hilton $388,000

-Jason Witten proved last year he can be one of the best TE's in the game. Although his blocking could use some help. That's where Dan Campbell comes in. While on the line, Campbell is like another OT. He's one of the best blocking TE's in the NFL - not a bad combination to have Witten and Campbell. Look for Witten to be one of Garcia's favorite targets, just like Jay Novacek was one of Troy Aikman's favorite targets. Playing #3 TE will be Zach Hilton. Coaches are raving about his talents of being able to maul defenders. If he can continue, look for Dallas to have the best set of TE's in the NFL.

Larry Allen $540,000
Flozell Adams $2,500,000
Ron Stone $400,000
Kevin Shaffer $400,000
Kendall Simmons - $700,000
Al Johnson $380,000
Kareem McKenzie $3,000,000

Quite possibly the best O-line in football. It doesn't get any better than Flozell "The Hotel" Adams and Larry Allen on the left side of the line. The man in the middle is Al Johnson. He showed last year as to why Coach Parcells picked him in the 2nd round 2 years ago. Unfortunately, he didn't play his rookie year due to injury. If Johnson continues, and many think he will, then he may very will be playing in the Pro Bowl this year. The right side of the line will be Kendall Simmons and Kareem McKenzie. There's no doubt that the right side of the O-line was the weakest. Simmons comes over in the Ward deal. Simmons is also coming off an injury from last year, but he's fully recovered and looking to dominate like he did as a rookie. This kid is still young, so look out. And at RT is Kareem McKenzie; a mammoth of a man. He was one of the key signings this past offseason. These 5 players will no doubt open up huge holes for the running game, much delight to Coach Parcells. The backups themselves could start, with OT Kevin Shaffer leaving Atlanta (starting LT) to come to Big D, veteran OG Ron Stone returning, and youngsters OT Jacob Rogers and OG Stephen Peterman. If not for Simmons, Peterman would be starting. The meanstreak combo of him and Johnson is SICK.

Darren Howard $6,666,000
Mike Rucker $3,150,000
Jared Allen $305,000
Tony Bryant $250,000

Pressure pressure pressure. That's what the Dallas D-line failed to do last year. Things have changed with the additions of Howard, Rucker and Allen. Howard is a complete DE: great against the run and can get to the QB. Rucker is the same. Expect 10+ sacks from both, maybe more with the way the D-line is shaping up. The other good thing about these 2, are that they can play the 3-4 as well. With the 3-4 being used more this year in the Cowboys defense, it was a blessing in disguise. Also coming aboard is youngster Jared Allen, the 5th round pick who was able to rack up 9 sacks last year as a rookie with the Chiefs. He was 4th in the Defensive Rookie of the Year Voting. Lots of potential. Another pass-rush specialist signing with Big D was Tony Bryant. Last year with the Saints, Bryant proved he could still get the job done. Coaches are hoping he still can, because if not, he'll have to watch his back for Eric Moore, who's looking for some playing time.

La'Roi Glover $2,000,000
Ted Washington $1,500,000
Maake Kemoeatu $300,000
Jarvis Green $250,000
Chris Hoke $ 300,000

Coach Parcells made it a point that he needed big bodies on the D-line. What'd he do? Went out and signed 4 big DT's. While Ted Washington is the former All-Pro and is expected to start, don't be shocked to see Maake Kemoeatu start instead. He's a big, big body. Jarvis Green comes over from the Patriots, with Hoke coming from Pittsburgh. What do these 4 players have in common? They have experience in the 3-4. While many will say that Glover isn't the prototypical 3-4 DT, he'll be getting playing time.

Dat Nguyen $1,375,000
Bradie James $380,000
Donnie Edwards - $3,000,000
Clark Haggans - $540,000
Colby Bockwoldt $305,000
Courtney Watson $305,000
David Thornton $450,000
Keith Adams $450,000

I'm going on record as saying this is the best set of LB's in the league. You know what you're getting with Dat Nguyen and Donnie Edwards - nuff said. But it's the youngsters that will raise some eyebrows. Clark Haggans is the pass-rusher Parcells likes in the 3-4. You're probably saying to yourself, "who are the other guys?" With Edwards and Nguyen playing the middle, that moves Courtney Watson to the outside to compete for a starters position. Although he'll have LOTS of competition from basically every other LB on the roster. Don't be surprised to see Colby Bockwoldt start. A late round pick for the Saints last year, the final 4 games showed what Colby can do - and that's be around the football at all times. This year is a make or break year for Bradie James. David Thornton leaves Indy, Keith Adams leaves Philly to come and play for Parcells. If not starting, then expect these 2 to be key factors on special teams. Kalen Thornton will also look for some time in the 3-4 with Haggans, as he's shown that he can without a doubt put pressure on the QB. Since there's so many roster spots already given to LB, Kendyll Pope will have to show a lot on special teams or else see himself on the practice squad.

Terence Newman $583,167
Ronde Barber - $3,250,000
Fahkir Brown $540,000
Deion Sanders $450,000
Pete Hunter $400,000

Last season was a very bad sophomore year for Terence Newman, who found himself getting burned a lot. Newman can relax this year, seeing as how he's got Pro-Bowler Ronde Barber starting at the other starting CB position. There will be a heated battle for #3 CB between Fahkir Brown and the return of Deion "PriiiiiiiiimeTiiiiiiiiiime" Sanders. Deion might win out with his experience, but don't be surprised to see Brown win out. He's matured since his early days in NOLA and he's shown that he can be a starter in the NFL. Pete Hunter is a talented player, but he's got to rebound from last years season ending injury. The attitude problems in the offseason didn't do him any favors. Although Lance Frazier was an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia who couldn't make it on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad and got burned a few times as a rookie, he did make some big plays when given playing time. Bruce Thornton was on a heat streak and impressing last year before his injury. If he can regain that skill, then he'll find himself on the roster. But for now, practice squad with Frazier.

Roy Lee Williams $866,667
Lance Schulters $1,100,000
Travares Tillman $450,000
Keith Davis, $380,000

Last year showed that Roy Williams is NOT a FS. The loss of Darren Woodson was a crucial one. So they went out and got Lance Schulters. While he's the veteran, Parcells likes the playmaking ability of Keith Davis. Last year he was the special teams ace. Was always around the ball. Coaches are hoping he can translate that into starter at FS. Roy Williams goes back to SS and will return as the dominant force on the defense.

Free Agency/Trade

My responsibility as GM is to make this team better, a team of great stablity and streangth, to put up numbers, and to have the mental persistence to be able to play well for four qaurters, and we have accomplished that. We have added Proven Veteran Stars that will Provide Great Leadership for our Rookies and younger players, and we have added players through the draft and The free agency that is balanced, and effective.
Our Offense will showcase Talent at the skill positions with the additions of Steve Mcnair, Antonio Bryant and with rookies like Jerome Mathis. our 3 Wide Sets will be lethal with our running game speaking for itself...after all... he is Clinton Portis.
Our Deffense is what was targeted mainly in this Offseason, to get the personel to run the defensive set Coach Gibbs calls the Motion 4-3 Shift, it is a delicate 4-3 base defense that requires fast, physical big bodies on the line and in the linebacking core to make proper crisp transitions from the 4-3 shift to the 3-4 shift and the 5-2 shift. Our defensive backfield encompases the Likes of Sean Springs, Sean Taylor, and now Carlos Rogers, it will be deadly.

Green Bay Packers

Quarterbacks

Brett Favre - 4,900,000
Trent Dilfer - 900,000
Drew Henson - 305,000

Favre has still got it, he is a legend and it's going to be very weird to watch the Packers play without #4 when he does retire. Trent Dilfer may be the best backup in the NFL. He has won a Super Bowl and he is dependable. Henson is the QB for the future (atm). Whilst not impressing in Dallas last year, I don't think he was a huge disappointment.

Running Backs

Cedric Benson - 500,000
Michael Bennett - 946,000
William Green – 455,000
Najeh Davenport - 605,000

Until the draft, I was happy with running the RB position by RB-by-commitee; however, when Benson was still around at #16 I had to go up and get him. He is a franchise runner in every sense of the word. His acquisition leaves Bennett, Green and Davenport as more than able backups.

Full Backs

William Henderson - 500,000

Henderson is a Pro Bowl fullback who will see time. Najeh Davenport can fill in at FB if required.

Wide Receivers

Javon Walker – 515,000
Rod Gardner – 1,446,800
David Boston – 540,000
Devery Henderson – 305,000
Roscoe Parrish - 450,000
Curtis Conway - 225,000

WR is deep for the Pack. Javon Walker raised himself to superstar status last year and became Favre's favourite target. Gardner is a quality starting WR that has suffered in the Redskins' pathetic passing O. Boston has fantastic potential (as we all know), and Henderson is a promising youngster. Conway is very dependable and Parrish has the ability to stretch the field with his blistering speed.

Tight Ends

Anthony Becht - 900,000
Bennie Joppru – 380,000
Donald Lee – 380,000

I was disappointed to lose Franks but got a few guys that could help fill the void. Becht is talented and is a former first round pick. Joppru has amazing potential but is oft injured, and Lee is one of the better blocking TEs in the league, but we are all aware that he is frustrating to watch.

Offensive Line

Tarik Glenn - 2,650,000
Mike Wahle - 3,600,000
Scott Wells – 305,000
Marco Rivera - 1,500,000
Torrin Tucker - 380,000
Wade Smith – 380,000
Travelle Wharton - 305,000
Richie Incognito - 400,000
Montrae Holland – 380,000
CJ Brooks - 225,000

Tarik Glenn is a Pro Bowl LT and one of the better Ts in the NFL. Wahle is an outstanding guard and will start at LG, he can also play T. Wells is the starter at C, although Incognito could be great if he is gets his head screwed on. Rivera is the RG and has been to the Pro Bowl. Tucker is solid at RT and he started last year for the 'Boys. Both Wharton and Holland are tremendous young players and starters in the NFL. Both Brooks and Wade Smith are projects but both are fundamentally sound.

Defensive Ends

Marques Douglas - 1,700,000
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila – 1,000,000
Kenny Peterson – 380,000
Marquise Hill - 305,000
Matt Roth - 450,000

Douglas is a great 3-4 DE, Peterson and Hill are both players that can be very good in the 3-4. Matt Roth is a monster. KGB is a pass rusher that causes havoc, and a 3-4 OLB in the new Packers D.

Defensive Tackles

Johnathan Sullivan – 476,833
Bryan Robinson - 400,000
Donnell Washington – 305,000

Sullivan was the 6th overall pick a few years back and is a quality young DT. Robinson is a cheap but quality utility guy, and Washington was a first day pick last year.

Linebackers

Chris Claiborne - 1,900,000
Al Singleton - 1,650,000
Al Wilson - 1,650,000
Eddie Moore – 380,000
Zeke Moreno - 300,000
Channing Crowder - 500,000

The LBs are extremely talented. Wilson is one of the best MLB in the NFL and Crowder is a quality young player. Claiborne is also a force. Moreno has put up some huge #'s for San Diego. Both Singleton and Moore are undersized for the 3-4 but can contribute in a 4-3 front.

Cornerbacks

Mike McKenzie - 3,430,000
Reggie Howard - 1,000,000
Ahmad Carroll – 355,000
Bryant McFadden - 450,000
Joey Thomas – 305,000

The Memphis tandem of McKenzie and Howard are solid rather than spectacular; however the future is now and Carroll and McFadden are future starters. Thomas was a first day pick last year.

Safeties

Arturo Freeman - 1,300,000
Sammy Knight - 900,000
Damien Robinson – 800,000
Mark Roman – 700,000

There is experience, versatility and depth at S. Freeman and Knight did well last year for the 'Phins, whilst Roman has the ability to play at both FS and SS. Robinson is a veteran guy that can add leadership.

Special Teams

Ryan Longwell – 1,000,000
BJ Sander – 305,000
Rob Davis - 225,000

Longwell is one of the best in the business, and Sander was a first day pick last year. Rob Davis is recognized as one of the better LS in the NFL.

QB

Kerry Collins - $1,200,000.00
Jesse Palmer - $225,000.00
Stefan Lafors - $300,000.00

Justin Fargas - $380,000.00
Eddie George - $225,000.00

Richie Anderson - $225,000.00
Cecil Sapp - $225,000.00

panthers - i think yer secondary is better than it was last year, mainly with the addition of darren sharper. jermaine phillips was a nice addition, along with david macklin. although i think hed get beat out by ricky manning jr, but regardless. gamble should be an even better player this year. dline...ehhhh, the loss of mike rucker was a big one. i think johnstone is a decent player, but peppers/rucker was a sick de combination. john thornton was an upgrade at dt compared to brenston buckner. lb's you improved bigtime with teddy lehman. morgan, witherspoon, and lehman...wow. the oline was obviously the biggest weakness on the team, so you went out and picked up 3 new starters, and 3 upgrades. fred miller im assuming will stay at rt with gross at lt? jake grove is a solid, young player, should fit in nice at rg. and chris liwienski will help anchor that oline. yer rb situation looks a little shaky. while hoover did have a breakout year last year, you really dont have that much depth. stephen davis could comeback and have a good year, or he can never be the same. ive heard reports over the course of the offseason that his injury is similiar to the one of wr patrick jeffers. correll buckhalter can never stay healthy to save his life. wr's, the comeback of steve smith will help without a doubt, but lets see if mushin can repeat his performance from last year. ricky proehl keeps playing on, but hes #4 wr at best. nothing much after smith and mushin. but good signing with freddie jones.
