The only thing I can think is that Jeter and Matsui split all the Yankee fans' votes and Podsednik had the full support of the Sox fans.

We get all our guys in except Clement, (Colon was a good pick) and 2 Yankees lose a popularity contest to a guy who most have never heard of because he played for the Brew Crew. There was a good interview with Podsednik of Espn radio before he won and he didn't think he had a chance against the Yankee greats. He played in the minors for 10 years.
