I never expected this franchise to go QB round one while Marino was still around.....but after he was gone, we passed on future hall of famer after future of hall of famer, not to mention Super Bowl winning quarterbacks to draft bust cornerbacks, offensive lineman and average runningbacks that could be had a dime a dozen.

Those of you that still don't understand the importance of the QB position...take a deep breath and know we are finally on the right path. I applaud Stephen Ross, Jeff Ireland, Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman.

Wow, the nightmare is over......Three QB's drafted in round one in Dolphin history...the first two are in the hall of fame.

I predict Ryan Tannehill will join Griese and Marino in Canton.

Some lofty expectations for sure but who cares he is a Dolphin now and can be a good QB for years to come.

Nice pick but to say are troubles are over is just a bit of a stretch. By the way, Tannehill is the 4th QB Miami has selected in the first round. Rick Norton was the first, followed by Griese a year later, Marino and now Tannehill.

Considering Weeden, (who I personally wanted us to trade back up to leapfrog over Cleveland which I knew was gonna snatch him up) was taken by the Browns at 22 and that Tannehill was almost universally ranked higher than him (mostly age issues IMO), it's naive to think Tanny would have lasted into the second round.

As trade downs are tentative possibilities at best, plus you lose direct control over the player you covet between now and then, taking him @8 was likely a reach, but regardless, it was also a necessity!
