Finally...

BALLS?

naaaahhh. balls is making a trade to get a blue chip, start right now and go to the pro bowl year one like a claiborne or barron.

our biggest need wasnt qb. we could score on the pats and other teams, we just cant stop them because we dont have a secondary and cant handle the two TE sets of the pats. you have to compete or control your division and thats the pats. there whole deal is that wicked TE thing and we needed to get the personel in to neutralize it like the bills are doing.

a 2-3 year project like tannehill is not the right move and is ANYTHING BUT balls. it is obvious now as all the gm's said, miami was taking tannehill so why didnt any of the other qb void teams try to trade over us to get him? no one wanted him that early.

hell, BALLS would have been to trade down several spots and get some more pics. he would have still been there for sure.

you just dont use your top 10 pic on a project, no matter what the position.

this tells me that irelands job is a whole lot safer than everyone thinks as it was out boss ross wanted tannehill, plain and simple.

if ireland was on a short leash, i dont think he makes this pic. but, if he knows his gig is much longer than this year and the owner and many fans want tannehill, he couldnt lose!! but i promise you, if his job depended on this year, he would have never thrown away his first round choice.

tannehill was just the wrong qb at the wrong time. typical dolphins.

He would never have made it out of the first.

I agree. But to take a chance on a guy that truly should be given 2 years to develop. Next years draft will have much deeper draft of QB's and we could have at the worst gotten a 2nd round talent in the 1st. If not a Top QB. And that could start right away.

love the Pick., now I hope he becomes the franchise QB we need, Im sleeping happy tonight

If you're going to draft someone in the top ten, he better be starting from day one!

Re-word: You should draft someone you can play from day 1. We didn't. We reached. This doesn't mean we should play him; he's the same player, no matter where you pick him. Play him when he's ready (2 years).

Great athlete learning his position huge upside with so little time and most people still thought he was 1-2 round. If he develops huge for Dolphins and us.

Next year never comes. But the lets wait tell next year crowd never gets it.

Looks like Bill Parcells is roaming the boards...

The only thing "reach" about Tannehill is the fact that he switched positions and needs more time learning how to read Ds and play the position. That, however, is the only thing that moved him to number 8 -- with his talent and potential, if he'd have started another year of college ball, he's challenging Luck for the top spot. He's got more physical talent than Luck right now. If he develops, he's potentially a better QB to win games on talent alone than even Luck. NOT a game manager QB in the making, imo. So, give credit to the front office on rolling the dice on greatness. Good pick.

Amazing to me how many people say this. Tannehill played QB in high school and was recruited as a QB. Tannehill red-shirted and lost out on the QB situation in which he was asked to play WR. Supposedly, Tannehill attended the QB meetings and practiced along with WR duties. Tannehill was a 5th year senior and got 2 years of being the starting QB.

Cam Newton started only 14 games and threw 292 passes in college.
Ryan Tannehill started 19 games and threw 774 passes in college.

Yet, Tannehill is green and needs time to develop? WTF...doesn't bode well for Tannehill to be the "franchise QB" imo.

Tannehill was a nice pick. After the Marshall trade Miami needed a WR, now will they take a QB on Day 2?

This is your opinion...perhaps you should go and buy a new gun!

Newton only played 13 games. rodgers only played 22 games and came out as a junior (maybe less experience then Tannehill). Carson Palmer sat for a whole year. This kid wants to play day one. Odds are he will play after the bye week if we are out of the playoffs.

He will definitely start year 2 for the following reason: Both our QBs only have 1 year contracts so either we start him or Devlin. You know the answer to that one.
