So, what are the predictions on Finals MVP?

If Detroit wins, it almost has to be Billups. He's hit a ton of big shots, is leading the team in scoring, has an almost unheard-of 4.5 A/TO ratio, and has completely outplayed Tony Parker.

If San Antonio wins, it's a lot trickier, I think...

On the numbers, I suppose you go with Tim Duncan (who may yet have his Alpha Dog game tomorrow night, thus making the argument moot), but he nearly killed them in game 5, and was invisible in the 4th quarter last night, too. Still, when there's not a clear choice, 19.8 points, 14.7 rebounds and 2.17 blocks have a way of winning out.

Ginobili was phenomenal in the first two games, but has been ordinary after that.

Can we really give the award to a guy who had one big game, i.e. Big Shot Rob? I don't think so.

Billups for the Pistons with an assist to the Wallace brothers (It's too bad Sheed complains so much and people get caught up in that. Apart from his mistake in Game 5 he's been excellent on defense ALL PLAYOFFS. Big Ben has bounced back.)

It's between Manu/Horry/Duncan. Whoever shows up/grabs game 7 by the throat for the Spurs. Unless it's Parker. I'm not a Tim Duncan fan but he's getting way too much flake. The Spurs were never a one man team. Put some blame on Parker who's been to school and back since he's met Chauncey.

Its a close call but you know Duncan will get it if the Spurs win. Even though he has missed freethrows down the stretch and has been useless in the 4th quarter. Billups should get it if the Pistons win. Parker might as well not play, he's looking like a boy playing with men right now. Im shocked at how utterly useless that guy has been. Can't stop Billups to save his life and he's getting what 3 assists a game?

i'd buy billups if detroit takes it. for san antonio, it is going to have to be whoever steps up in game 7. maybe ginobili.

i wouldn't say parker has been useless in this series. the assists are down, but when they're moving the ball well, the spurs' assists are pretty well shared. i don't think he had much of a game last night, but parker has been able to go to the hoop almost at will in this series. without fear. i wouldn't call that useless.

really, though, detroit had no life until ben wallace decided to start playing in game 3. that has been a big difference, though it's not showing up in gaudy stats.
