Wasup fellow Dolfans! After more info gathering, I figured I do a revised mock before the combine...so here it is, and enjoy:
1. LB - Brian Cushing: This is still a difficult pick for me. There is a lot of talk about Darius Heyward-Bay being picked here if he runs a low 4.2 forty and measures at a pretty decent height. If there is any truth to it, then the Dolphins could face a difficult decision. Cushing is the most versatile LB in the draft, and we are very thin at that position but I've been hearing the Fins are looking intensely into some WRs too, and Parcells seems to be pretty high on DHB. Smoke screen??? May be.
2a. S - Louis Delmas: The consensus has Sean Smith but if Delmas can put up a good forty time, I rather go with an experienced safety that is a born leader.
2b. C - Eric Wood: SAY WHAT!?!?!? No DT pick here...Since I'm the GM of this mock, and with Ferguson and Solai back as the NTs, I'll wait till next year because there are 6-7 NTs that are projected first round talents. There is a lot of speculation about Samson Satele's status as our starter. I'm sure Satele feels the heat too.
3. CB - Mark Parson: I'm still sticking with this pick. Not much talk about him yet, but there will be. You know how you have a gut feeling about someone making a strong impression, well this year for me is Parson. I have a feeling he'll be on everone's radar after the combine.
4. LB - Worrell Williams: We are still thin at the LB position, smart player who plays the inside well.
5. G - C.J. Davis: Quality depth guy on the o-line. Helped anchor a good college running offense. First teamer All Big East.
7. CB - Lydell Sargent: BUYER BEWARE....this kid has some baggage, but he has a lot of talent. If the front office believes his troubles are behind him (involved in a melee), then they have a steal.
7. LB - Robert Francios: Provide great depth at the ILB spots, where we are severely thin.
7. OT - Ryan Delrosal: Small school OT project, very light on his feet. Could turn out to be a good depth guy down the road.
Big Free Agent Signings
1. Bart Scott: If Suggs is franchised, I can see us going after him hard.
2. Bryant McFadden: This is another excellent signing for us.
3. Chris Canty: I still think we release Vonnie Holliday (save some money) and go younger by signing Canty.
Well that's it for now. Of course this will change after the combine, so what are your critiques? Have fun. :D
