Hello fellow finfans. This is my first post, I have been a fin fan for 15 years and have been through the good times and the bad times. As far as the season is going we have all been both disappointed at times and happy at times.

I dont know if at this point we should start sage or not but what i do know is Gus has the 3rd lowest passer rating in the league at 66.5. Im not now nor am I ever ready to call any one of our seasons a wash. I too am sick and tired of watching ***** overthrows to our wide open recievers. I have sunday ticket and watch every game each week and see first hand these throws. I mean this definatley has to be one of the most disappointing games i have seen from frerotte not because he single handedly lost the game for us by throwing the pick at the end, but because he wasnt hurried, rushed, or sacked at all during the game and he only still only completed 13 of 22 for 103. Week in and week out our recievers are getting really open and Gus's accuaracy is nowhere where it needs to be, especially for someone who has played in the league for so many years (but then again, i guess thats why he has been a career back up). The o-line is improving greatly in terms of sacks allowed. The pre snap penalties are extremely bad but there have been a few games this season where our o-line hasnt given up any sacks which is a vast improvement over last year. Because of this it just puts more blame on Gus. He has the arm strength and the decision making to be good for us because he finds the open reciever, then I find myself screaming at the TV and yelling Gus sucks becuase he either overthrows or underthrows the reciever.

On another note, I've been hanging around this site checking out posts for about 2 years and I can't believe some of the negativity I have read from posters ripping our beloved team and saying how we should throw in the towel. I bet the players in the locker room are never ready to throw in the towel (Even ricky looks like he loves playing again whether we are winning or losing). True fans stand behind their team whether they are winning or losing, through the thick and thin, through the good and the bad. Last year was the worst season I have ever endured, but every week I was in front of the TV supporting our team, before each game I would always say how we were gonna beat whoever we were playing. No matter who dropped s**t on our team i supported them.

And yes i know there are a hundred threads about Gus, but its my first post so give me some love

One thing is for sure, you will never read any posts from me saying lets throw in the towel or our season is done, or our team sucks. Oh well, Im done B*****g about this.

Finkle is einhorn, einhorn is finkle, finkle einorn, einhorn finkle.

The only posts even remotely related to throwing in the towel are from people that want to see improvement for the long term over winning for today. I SAY, they are the real fans and care about getting rid of crap talent on this team.

Nothing wrose than getting to the playoffs on luck when you really should not be there. That leads to blowouts of the 62-7 magnitude. Also, if players can say we are not very good right now, why can't a fan. For god sakes we love football too. We have a bit of football pride to go with our dolphin rants. We can't just sit in the stands telling everyone in ear shot how great we are. We are not great right now, face it....and WELCOME !

What to you want to see from the team next week? what areas of improvement?

I think its always good for your team to make it to the playoffs if they truely deserve it or not. Fans that say we should loose for the future sake of the team are anything BUT true fans. As a fan you should want to win every game regardless of the situation. Anyone that even remotely is cheering for the dolphins to lose isn't a true fan.

Welcome aboard on a tough day. Everyone is in an eat your own young mood after today. Solid post. My biggest problem today wasn't Gus , but Linehan. You know what you have in Gus. We all know what R&R were doing , especially Ronnie. Why put the game on Gus when you know you can run the ball.
Oh it makes me mad:blowup:

Hear what I am saying. No one ever said "hope we loose" they just say things like I would rather start Sage regardless of the outcome. They want to move forward. If you thought certain concessions this year would (perhaps) make a playoff run less likely in favour of a long term good team like the 90's would you not see some positives in that. That is why the Giants started Manning sooner than some would have agreed. That is why Payton was started right away as well. GUS gives us the best chance to win, but some week soon it has to stop, and the sooner the better.

A fan is someone like me actually. That has been a fan longer than you likely and is still cheering for this team after it has been messed with by JJ and Wanny. Im still here. You are agruing with a Fellow Fan.

Who are you to decide what a fan is. Are you president of the NFL fan club? A true fan also has an eye on tomorrow. Because a true fan will be there tomorrow. How long have you been cheering?

Oh and another thing. As a fan, I think our team lacks attitude and an undeserved trip to post season will bred more of the same. The players and coaches would be better off feeling like there is a lot of work to do. We had better attitude before we won two games. After that we became the Dolphins of the new Millenium.

I wouldnt say we got to the playoffs on luck, back in those days our defense was always ranked in the top five in the league. Everything changes when u get into the playoffs. The stats, the records, everything. In the playoffs, each team starts 0-0.

I think we all know what we need in terms of positional improvement. QB, and secondary (Not so much from the safety position but from our corners and nickle D), are the top concerns i think. A few weeks ago I would have said o-line, but II have been really impressed with them the past few weeks. we have only allowed 12 sacks all year which is only 1.5 sacks per game. Im not sure about the rest of the league but in the AFC east , thats 2nd behind New england. Pretty good improvement from the worst o-lne in the league last year. I think what we need the most improvement from are the d**m penalties. they kill our drives and completely dissolve our momentum game in and game out. Most of them are presnap penalites so in terms of the o-line improvement, they are giving Gus time, but they love to put us in 1st and long right off the bat. And it is REALLY discouraging when they are doing this in their own house. I can somewhat understand the penalties when we are away, but when we are home thay absolutley should not be occuring

I for one am one of those people. We need a top 10 pick this year so we can either get the QB we want or the franchise LT. Either one of these two will go a long way for helping for the future. Going 8-8 would do nothing cause we would have lower draft picks and would still have the same talent as if we went 4-12 which I want to go.

Contray to what you may think of my last rant, I think you never want to loose JUST for the draft pick. But if we go 4-12 rather than 8-8 it is a non issue for me. I am getting tired of the lack of progress over a 10 year period. I could care less if this is only SABAN's first year. It is not my first year. It is not JT's first year, It is not Fred Flintstone's first year.

Also I hope the Marino hoopla is done now. Enought about yesterday. I guess we still have to here about the colts beating the 30'something year old team called the Undefeated team. SOME ONE PLEASE DO SOMETING ABOUT TOMORROW ALREADY. ENOUGH ABOUT YESTERDAY AND TODAY.
