“I like the forum you left up on the screen but they need to change their logo…why does it say go deep when all we do is run the ball” This is what my girlfriend who has been a dolphin fan for all of a year and a half tells me last week. The funny thing is, I have always thought the same thing ever since I found Finheaven: why does our logo say go deep when we have been dink and dunk for 10 years? Shouldn’t it say Run hard or something?

I started watching the Dolphins during Marino’s last good years and then like everyone here observed Miami go through 13 different starting quarterbacks in 10 years. (the first - Fielder and the 13th -Pennington being the best for us in the group)

Doesn’t something feel different this time? It is a scary but good feeling that I bet all of us has felt over the last few weeks. It is Good because all the signs point to YES! and scary because we have led ourselves to believe all signs pointed YES at least half a dozen times and always come up dead wrong. The one constant with all those quarterbacks is that while many were decent stewards of the team and a few led us to the playoffs not one of them had the combination of the following things Chad Henne seems to possess right now.

13 reasons to think that henne could stick longer than the last 13
1)Prototypical Size
2)Great arm strength
3)The ability to take a hit (being 6-3” 230 helps)
4)Above average Mobility (yeah you culpepper)
5)An awesome O-Line to protect him
6)Coaches that have lasting power and a solid plan.
7)A great run game with 2 of the top backs in the league
8)Speed at WR (Ginn its your time to shine, no more drops puleeeze)
9)Hands at WR, Bess and cam are some of the best in the NFL. I think Cam needs to be our#1 with gin at #2 and bess in the slot. at least until we can get a true #1 with speed, hands and YAC ability.
10)The ability to Make ALL the throws, short mid, and yes GO DEEP!
11)Knowledge gained from one of the most knowledgeable ever. Chad Pennington.
12)A proven winner *at at the college level at least
13)Has played in Big games and has shown to be calm and collected even when the intensity level is high and or the team is behind.

I found a few Articles that are not part of the South Florida press who is quite drunk on the cool aide right now, these seem to support that maybe just maybe we have reason to continue to be optimistic.

as long as we keep pounding the rock like we do. Which we need to do more in the normal formation, and keep GINN IN WHEN RUNNING 2 WR SETS or 1 run some play action and throw it more than once a game downfield. THEN Ginn will be the #1 that we all KNOW he's not because he's never been able to play his strength.

Tell your girlfriend that "Go Deep" is a double entendre. I guess you could "Run Hard" into discussion about the Fins but "Go Deep" into discussion makes more sense.

There was another thread about this where a few of us were saying that although Ginn has never been as good as we have hoped he would have been, that he has never been in a situation (had a QB who can get the ball Downfield) which fully played to his strength (getting downfield) in that thread (it was pre-jets smack down) everyone pretty much said we were wrong and Ginn is a lost cause. now some of those same people are all the sudden saying that he might work out. **and avoiding eating crow I might add.

That said I still think we need a #1 receiver with good speed that can get yards after the catch and break some tackles. On our team IMO a healthy camarillo is the best option for #1 (possibly Hartline in the future)
