Seriously, this place is something else. I know if I don't like it I can go away, too bad for me that I enjoy talking and reading about NFL Football and the Dolphins are my favorite team so I will continue coming here. With that being said I see a team that is 5-3 over it's last 8 games with a 2nd year QB and no good WR's that lost 1 game they should have won (first loss to a team with a losing record in the Tony Sparano era) and see thread titles such as:

Possible HC Replacements
Start Pat White
Charlie Weiss please
I Told You We Suck
We Will Go 5-11
Our Rookie Corners Stink

Look at the teams in the league who are consistently good every year and what do they have in common. Continuity!!!! Yet we lose one game we should win and folks want to blow it up again. It seems like we all have been watching football long enough to know that constantly changing HC and QB is a recipe to being losers yet people want to do that. We lose this game and there's posters who don't think we'll win another one this year. WOW! Sometimes it feels like some posters make points and sit back waiting for there points to come to fruition on the field than jump into Finheaven and post about it to show how smart they are. Anyone can do that. It's frustrating.

The Dolphins are a young team 2 years removed from a 1-15 season who've lost 4 significant players to season ending injuries. They have a 2nd year QB and the best weapon he has at WR is probably a rookie himself. There are probably 2 or 3 QB's in the NFL who could make this passing game work and Pat White probably isn't one of the three.

We need to give this a chance not start over again. Best case scenario is we're still talking about a consistently successful Sparano and Henne 5 years from now. The sad thing is there are probably posters who don't want that, they'd rather be right about something they posted on a silly message board.

It's really a love/hate relationship I have with FH. I enjoy discussing all things Dolphins with just about anyone who'll care enough to (this is because of the lack of Dolphins fans in my personal life), but at the same time there are plenty of buffoons on here.

Oh well...it's a good exercise in learning to ignore. No need to get too worked up over anything that is said on a message board, and there's no need in trying to talk sense into someone who either can't or won't understand. Most of the controversial posters are just seeking attention anyways.

The doom and gloom members always come out after losses(cough WV) but the few that go crazy with the threads about replacing a head coach that is 16-11 in his first two years drowns out all the realists who know that this is a process. The problem is that in today's society people need instant satisfaction. Could you imagine if coaches like Shula and Lombardi were in the league today? They would be fired after just 2 or 3 seasons if fans had their way.

Sometimes you just have to realize that this is a process. Just two years ago this was a team that was an overtime touchdown pass away from being 0-16. Here we are 27 games later and the new regime has posted a 16-11 record and a division title. If I told you in December of 2007 that after the next 27 games that would be your record and you would have a division title, people would go ecstatic with excitement. Instead you have those few fans that need instant satisfaction drowning out the board with their hate. I can tell you that while the majority of the threads are "this coach needs to be fired", "this player needs to be cut", the majority of the fans do not agree with these radical ideas.

After that horrible 2007 season, did people really expect a Super Bowl run just two years later? Most fans/media didn't even have us making a serious PLAYOFF run until year three which would be 2010. Not only did we make the playoffs in YEAR ONE, but we are still alive in year two(even though at his point the chances are slim). We are 5-6, not what a diehard fan wants, but keep in mind that just two seasons ago, we were 0-11 at this point.

I think you should be a little more understanding. First of all the passion is there because they love the team and it hurts to seem them do poorly. But the reality is the team is under .500 and baring anything unheard of, they will not make the playoffs. After making the playoffs last year that is hard for some people to swallow. Also I think when you see how we are losing it is frustrating. We gave up over 300 yards to a team that has only won three games, that is bad. And to get blown out by them is bad. The pass defense has been horrible and that is just the fact. The passing game has been medicore at best. I guess a lot of people or coming to terms with the fact that we just are not one of the better teams. Doesn't mean we are not headed in the right direction, but it is frustrating. Now I agree that some of the threads are a little off the deep end (Start Pat White????) but it really is just an explosion of disappointment as people realize we are not a playoff caliber team and we get b-itch slapped all over the place by Fluffalo. Its to be expected. Let them have their say they are just hurting. That's what FinHeaven and any fan forum is about. A place where ALL fans can come and cry in their beer, congratualt each other and just express themselves. Dig and be dug.

I absoulutely don't agree with firing Sparano now. There are a lot of ridiculous threads as noted above. I am being hard on the coaching staff now and there has to be accountability. Maybe firing the OC and DC right now serves no purpose but Sparano can easily tell them to keep pressure on the offense. Keep running Ricky. That is not happening.

Yes this is a very young team with a lot of potential. They have come a long way in 18 months. They are vastly improved over last season no doubt. But are you comfortable that this team will take the next step with some of the decision making that is going on?

Thank you my friend. Very good insight on it.

Passion isn't an excuse to throw logic out the window. The stuff some of these people are posting are just completely ridiculous.

The facts are, we are a team in rebuilding mode, with half our starters (including our best offensive player) on IR. We also have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, and we're relying on a bunch of rookies and practice squad players to fill in the gaps. The playoff talk was nice, but it wasn't realistic.

I was ok after the Indy loss, and even after the Saints and New England losses, but our meltdown against Buffalo hurts most. We control every game we play, but cant hang on in the 4th, and its dam frustrating because we know we can win. While I think most people are overreacting calling for Sparano's head, I can understand people are upset. There's not really much else to thread about at the moment, so until we beat a good team (NE next week?), this forum is going to flame on.

I would rather believe in this regime for one more year(year three) then have to scrap what they have been building and start all over again. Teams do not become Super Bowl contenders without some continuity in the front office.

Fair enough. But at a minimum, the OC and DC should at least be evaluated.

But it is their opinion no matter how ludicrous it may sound to you or I. But something that many folks are overlooking is that we, myself included, are not talking about the players being the problem. If there is a problem in the coaching ranks, it won't matter how much talent you have.

I respect Sparano and he may have the ability to mold himself into a good head coach. But he's nowhere close yet & Henning/Pasqualoni are helping him look bad.

I agree. You can keep the building process going and continue to build what you started and still be able to make changes on the staff, even at OC and DC.

OK. I am done venting. On to the Patriots

+1, and I don't know how many times this needs to be said.

Football is a business, not a madden game where you can simply cut guys with 62 ratings, or trade them with 2nd round picks for Randy Moss and Peyton Manning.

Sorry, but some things are actually pretty funny around here. I mean based on some of the way people post around here I think they really believe an NFL team can really be run like a video game.
