I don't know a thing about his past, but I sure like what I see that he brings to us this year. Our defense is not chasing opponents this year. We are in position and tackling very quickly. There's a new aggressiveness that I've been hoping for.

Was hoping for the Lafell arguement after he earholed Jimmy Wilson on that crack back block

dude... is this the same team? Philbin actually didn't put me asleep. He actually sounded...dare I say? MOTIVATIONAL?!

He was a great pick up for us. I thought we would miss Patterson but Finnegan looked good last game. Let us hope this game was just the beginning.

Did Patterson get picked up by anyone yet? I wonder if his issues were mental like Bess, that poor guy.

Truly I expected more trash talk from Finnegan given his past. Maybe he's toned it down a little this year.

I think the Lions were looking at Patterson. And yes, I echo your concern that he might have mental issues like Bess did.

It's the Dolphins website, so they couldn't show any of the mean stuff Cortland was likely saying/doing. More importantly, Finnegan seemed to be having fun out there, which is always a good sign.

Philbin's postgame speech still sounds super forced to me (Comment, polite golf clap, comment, polite golf clap), but not every coach can be a huge motivator. Philbin was hired because he is an analyst, an over-thinker who excels in strategy. If that wins us games, and he does just enough to keep his players engaged and not laughing at him, works for me.

It's a upgrade from last year.

Philbin was literally reading notes from a clipboard during his speech.

Cliff Notes style.
