Finnegan signs with Miami

After watching E:60, It looks like he is a good dude off the field.

As a rookie with the Titans, Cortland Finnegan pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving, ending a DUI case from June 2006.

Under the provisions of a six-month suspended sentence, Finnegan had to undergo supervised probation which ended after completing 20 hours of community service.

Finnegan also paid a $150 fine plus court costs and had a restricted license because of the implied consent —he refused to take a breath test when he was pulled over.

Shortly after his arrest, Finnegan was entered into an NFL alcohol driver safety program, and under the conditions of the court agreement was required to complete those sessions, which he did.

I'll take that as a no on the poor character conversation. Being brash on the field and being a thug or women beater are Very different things.

He was getting beat badly until he went on IR. This guy is done and I am saying this now, he wont be on the team come Week 1

Will wait to see the $$'s, but I'm assuming a pretty reasonable contract and very little risk financially. I'm also guessing we are going to find more options at CB via FA or the draft, just to have depth to develop. If nothing else, we are going to have some guys that are going to hit some WR's this year! So long as they don't get burned down the field, it will be an interesting mix.

Look who else was on the list:

Dolphins' Chris Chambers Charged with DUI

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel has reported that Miami Dolphins receiver Chris Chambers was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina and charged with DUI, reckless driving and speeding. Chambers was released on $1,750 bond. This is reportedly Chambers' first DUI charge.

Whatever, I could have been charged with a DUI after watching our team most of last year unfortunately.

I like the signing , secondary is going to be very competitive.

Finnegan: I asked questions agents can't ask. Older you get you understand deals, can put everything in perspective.

Dolphins GM Hickey likes that Finnegan has been "a tough playmaker in his career" and brings "leadership."

Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP 34s

Finnegan: I know they have younger players here, I want to mentor them. I can also learn from Grimes he's one of best in NFL if not the best

Ill take his on field toughness and ability to get in the head of opponents which is somehow a "character" issue over Browners substance abuse issues any day of the week

i don't know what this "i hope he gets back to the way he played a few years ago," and "i hope he gets back to the way he played in tennessee" talk is all about.

after he signed with the Rams as a free agent for the 2012 season, he had arguably his best year. he played in all 16 games and he had: 101 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 3 ints (one for a touchdown).

in 2013 he only played in parts of 7 games (he broke his leg in week 4, and had some other injuries).

we need him to be healthy and to play like he did the year before last!

Finnegan: "At times I played good, at times I didn't. I was injured most of the time."

Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly 28s

"This is a clean slate," Cortland Finnegan said. "I can't say anything magical to you....I'm just going to prove it on the field."

Andrew Abramson ‏@AbramsonPBP 51s

Finnegan: I play with an edge and I've learned to control that over the years. I want to bring that same tenacity, spunk that I have.

Miami Dolphins ‏@MiamiDolphins 44s

Finnegan on his playing style: "I play with edge, and I've learned to control that over the years."

New Dolphins CB Cortland Finnegan said "all the visits lined up after this just didn't make sense because this just felt right."

Armando Salguero ‏@ArmandoSalguero 55s

Cortland Finnegan said he talked to GM Dennis Hickey several times on phone. This was first visit. Done.
