Where we are looking for a RB, you gotta remember it's only a short term fix, unless we could land a stud. A stud where we could again go with RB by committee & let RW be trade bait next year. There's a lot of names being past around, but again you gotta remember most of them out there are a short term fix. Personally, I like the core of Brown, Morris, Minor, Barnes.
And with Griggs on the practice squad in case someone gets hurt... I think we'd be okay.

So now we got to deal w/the suspension:

1. Staley - Out of shape & not the answer, no better then Ronnie on short yardage plays.
2. Moe W. - good hands, but wouldn't be able play series after series.
3. R. Dayne - A monster, but a hurt monster. And never really looked good.
4. C.Brown - Okay, but not going to come here to be a back up, let alone move to the 3rd back if we keep RW next year.
5. Tatum Bell - I like this guy (fast), but also doesn't want to be a back up, or be a 3rd back if we keep RW in 07'. However, w/Bell I think we could finally use RW as trade bait.
6. N. Davenport - Did okay in pre-season & used to playing a back up RB (possible).
7. A. Smith - Here's a guy who know's he's on his way out, but could be a nice fit for the 1st (4) games. He's used to playing a back up, but always does okay when he comes in.

Whoever, they bring in I'm sure he'll be a good fit. We need someone (like Morris) who can come in (when Ronnie needs a break) for a full series here or there, productively carry the ball, & block during the pass. So I'm thinking it's gotta be between Davenort or Smith. Again, it's only because we need a short term fix & not a FT replacement.

moe williams wouldnt have to play series after series he would obviously only be a back up sharing part of the load with ronnie. im not saying that we get this guy but just pointing it out

I say we pick Moe that way we release him at the end of the year. Plus chemistry with C-Pep

True, Moe does have Chemistry & pretty good hands, but like you said he'd probably come here knowing it's a 1 year thing.

Charles Rogers my brother!!

I thought this guy was going to be a monster. Their WR core was scary, just don't understand why it didn't happen & how he could be cut!!!

Hopefully no RB we pick up will have to carry the load, but we would like someone who can come in & produce, god forbid our #1 goes down. Morris will be back, but he's not the answer either.

A RB who can play ST and carry the ball 5-10 times and make a few pass plays on 3rd down.

Antwan Smith would be more of a guy who would be here today and gone tommorow. Im not so sure that is what he would want. A player who plays ST has more value. I see us getting a young RB with versatility. Not sure who that could be cus alot of unknowns out there as far as I am concerned.

Bring Iin Ron Dayne Sis You Guys See What He Did On Thanksgiving Day Against Dallas?

Forget Smith that guy is old and gets injured. Bring in Moe.

The only guy I like from your list is Chris Brown and he isn't coming here. The FA I would rather have are Artose Pinner or Lionel Gates to be are back up RB.

The guy i like if he stays healthy is najeh davenport I thought he did pretty good backing up grenn the last couple years

Ron Dayne???????????
Ron " NO GAIN" Dayne was never the answer.

I agree, Dayne should be splintering people a the line but it ain't happening. There was a report during camp, where he had a manny episode, I think cuz he wsa hurt & couldn't play.
