Hey fellow fin fans,

I discovered great news today. For my christmas present I asked for one thing and that was a chance to go to the last game of this great season, the game at New York. I am going!!!!!! Now I wanted to hear some suggestions or maybe even advice for this game because I have not been to a game at New York and was wondering about the environment for a visiting teams fan. Also, what are the chances this game goes primetime for that sunday Night?

I have no advice since i've never been there but i will also be making the trip to the Meadowlands for the final game and i'm pumped. I expect them ( Jets fan Base) to be nasty to me as i'll be decked out in Fins gear. But i gotta be a little careful because its just me and my girl and i dont wanna put her in the middle of bad situation. usually ima you know what at the ball games...i got alot of passion for my fins. But i expect nothing less than to Throwdown!!

I haven't been to a game in New York, but from what I've experienced at Dolphin Stadium, they're mostly all talk and no fight.

Don't be over the top when your rooting for your team lol.

Nobody at the Meadowlands is going to really give you **** for wearing a Fins jersey (theres always a few bad eggs but thats at any stadium) but if your trying to be annoying or over the top then you could run into problems (mostly just people yelling at you and chanting things at you). Nothing will really escalate into anything more then that unless the Jets are getting killed lol.

Weather its fair or not you have to respect another teams stadium when your a fan of the visiting team. There going to be rooting for their team and dont wanna hear from you. You can root for your team but if your trying to annoy them or fire back at them your fighting a losing battle weather you are right or not.

I'd say if the Jets and Dolphins are playing for the divsion title that night then that will be a prime time game.

This is funny coming from a Jets fan. Ever been to Dolphin Stadium when the Jets are in town? NEVER any respect from those fans....

lol ok so then come to the Meadowlands and do that. IDC.

I've gone 4-5 times and never had a problem....of course we've never won when I went either.

But it's not any different from any other NFL stadium (except maybe Philly which is worse) if you aren't an a-hole, you'll be booed and told how the Phins suck, but otherwise you'll be fine to wear your gear and cheer for the Phins.

I live in New Jersey and I have gone every year to this game, however I will not be going this year since I live in NH now.

Do not wear a Marino Jersey they will tear him apart for not winning a Super Bowl.

Do not be a tough guy cause they will make fun of you. I was once there and a Fin Fan was there with his girlfriend, he started to be loud and she turned around to shut the Jet fans up. They started calling her a Fat Bi**h and ultimately the Fin Fan and g/f got thrown out.

Also do not make fun of the Jets or any of the players, even if they make fun of the Fins.

Not that I expect a blow out, but do not leave the game early, unless you want a trail of nonsense and unpleasent remarks about being true to your team!

Have fun and Go FINS

LMAO. I'm excited to go. I made it through Philly, New York will be a walk in the park.

I have had hot dogs thrown at me. I am a smart fan and I don't scream at the top of my lungs at a first down. Just don't be stupid and they are ok. There are some drunk knuckle-heads who will tell you to go back the f#$%$ to Miami, but I usually say "I'm from Jersey" and laugh.

Thanks for the stories/advice. I'm really excited for this game. I'm young so I dont expect a whole lot of trouble but I am also not the fan that gets in the face of other fans. I just will celabrate for a touchdown, but not in a whack way. I usually get the nice cool fans when I go to other games where they actually can talk non biased football during the games. I will be wearing my Ronnie jersey and if they tell me go back to Miami, I will tell them I live in Baltimore.

I've been there a couple of times with my friends and my son. They have been pretty good to us and we haven't had any problems. Just the basic heckling, nothing major. Also, there should be allot of dolphins fans there also. Trying to get tickets myself.

I would suggest that you don't wear any fins gear.
Why put up with the grief?

I does not make you a bigger fan because you are wearing Fin gear.

you remind me when i flew up to the phins/steelers game on opening weekend 2 years ago, at halftime we were approached by two guys in steelers gear. we had our phins jerseys on, and they told us how they were phin fans, but they didnt want to get into a fight and they went and bought steelers shirts. i wanted to punch him.:shakeno:

Yeah. I have to agree.

I've never been to NY but I've been at the opposing student section at plenty of UF/FSU/UM games... basically, if you keep to yourself and just root but not insult the other team people might just laugh at you a bit when loosing.

The thing is, the type of people that actually want to pick a fight want someone who'll fight back/talk back.

Chances are, if you focus on the game, laugh a bit if you get heckled, and not say insulting things that you would say at Dolphins stadium about the jests you'll have fun.

Chances are you'll sit next to a nice enough family/person who'll talk to you a bit. At least those are my experiences at games and at bars.
