The NFL is a QB driven league. Consider the following.

NE becomes winner when Brady is established.
Cowboys win after Romo develops.
Steelers win again after Roth becomes starter.
Philly wins when McNab is healthy.
Jets find their QB...Favre...will be at least a wildcard
Bills begin to win with young QB in second year.
Bears win with change at QB.
Packers win with Rogers coming into his own.
NO winning...Saban picked wrong QB

Vikings cant win , no QB
Seattle losing...QB injuries
Carolina...Delhomme injuries
Chiefs losers...no QB
Bucs are inconsistent...QB position revolving door
Denver lost vs Pats...QB injured

Fins losing...no franchise QB.

How many QBs have started for Fins since Marino?

Until Fins find a QB...they cant win.

No CB, WR, LB, NT, DE or TE will make any significant impact until we find our QB.

This is the obvious reason why Henne should start.

He is the only chance for establishing our franchise QB this year.

If he isnt that player, we should find out now.
Dallas losing...Romo hurt

I Agree With U 100% But Most People On Here Are Gonna Defend Pennington 2 Death Like He Was A Homegrown Hero Or Somthing.i Hated The Signing From The Start Cause I Know He Is Good Enough 2 Winn Some Games But Not Big Games. It Seems Like Chad Always Played Just Good Enough 2 Not Lose His Job. We Need A Qb That We Feel Confident Is Gonna Run Our Team For At Least 7 Years.and I Do Agree That Chad Has Played Some Good Football This Year But Not Elite Football. We Need That Elite Qb Already With A Cannon Arm.

Look, we have a qb in pennington! Unless you are Stevie wonder watching that game sunday it wasnt the one pick that he threw (1 all year by the way) Our Defense was pushed all over the damn field and we have ZERO secondary. You put Chad on any other wining franchise this year and they are still going to the playoffs. We dont have the talent on Defense. We just dont!

I'm starting to lose faith here.... Look, Henne should be a side note!!! he is the qb of the future...if u think he should be getting some snaps in just for experience then ok but still its a minor note. If people are seriously hung up on this issue b/c they think its going to drastically change the course of our season they are off their rockers! QB is not everything..get your football knowledge up guys comonnn:err: .. are we just fishing for something to complain and argue about??

i dont agree with this thread to much
HOWEVER
there is a exception to every rule
and having a D like Tenn does this year is that exception

The Browns have Derek Anderson who went to the Pro Bowl last year and are 2-4.
The Bengals have Carson Palmer who once went to the Pro Bowl and are 0-7.
The Saints have Drew Brees who went to the Pro Bowl and are 3-4.

The thread starter mentions the Buccaneers and Panthers with QB issues, yet these two teams are 5-2 each.

So, there is absolutely no point in this thread. Our losses have nothing to do with Pennington - not one of them.

I said it before and I'll say it again ..Pennington is just a more accurate version of Jay Fiedler. He has the wimpy arm that hinders the offense. Every defense knows he has a weak arm and can never throw it deep.

if pennington can bring us this far with his noodle arm imagine what henne can do. with all this BS talent and we are always in games. if its henne im almost certain we would have had more wins due ot the offense being far better and more explosive. hate all you want n say penny has experience sure but his inablity to make plays hurts just as much. its not like his aplaymaker that dosent make mistakes. he is a game manager that doesnt make plays. what does that equal to? nothing.

lmao u think that buddy, you think that.

bucs have a top 5 defense just the same way we did and won with fielder. oh and panthers have a very good defense and Delhomme is healthy again now. so what sur excuse? the only one is brees but the man hasnt had a steady healthy offense since year one. so now whats your pont.

What nonsense this thread is lol. Spiff ponted out a few flaws with this thread. I'll fill in the rest. It would only take a moron to start Henne. Why would you start him with all the following?

1. Pennington has played too good to lose his starting job.

2. No Qb is going to progress at all with the WR corp of this team.

3. This team isn't a contender with Penny, and it's not one with Henne. If you think otherwise you are a fool, sorry. So why throw Henne to the wolves for no reason? You don't unless you're a moron who posts "Start Henne" threads.

4. Ask John Beck, he will tell you what horrendous WR's and inconsistent O-Line play do to help you progress. Absolutely nothing.

5. On top of that, I say start Penny next year too if he keeps playing the way he has been.

6. DefensiveEnd76, I don't want to hear any more he can't throw the deep ball but Henne can arguments. It's played out. If you go back and watch film of Penny, he had no problem launching em to Coles.

7. Umm did I mention John "Fumbles" Beck?

8. SR 7 you're wrong. I've seen Penny make plays all season long. Guess we're not watching the same games.

9. Thank god Parcells is running this thing and knows not to throw your Franchise QB to the wolves. If FH was running the team we'd be in a world of hurt.

This thread is a load of crap. You win the "just shut up" award this week.

Same old ****. You couldn't post this in one of the other clueless start Henne threads. Better hurry the moron-wagon is filling up quick.

The point is you say QB is the only thing that matters, then say Drew Brees hasn't had a healthy offense. Well get this - our receivers are 300% worse than NO's (Colston or not) and Drew Brees can't find ways to win with them.

If we had a decent receiving corps I could see at least some logic in the 'start Henne' debate, but the fact is we do not and starting Henne with such a lack of talent to throw to is a recipe for disaster.

People go on about Peyton starting early but forget who he had to throw to.

Greg Camarillo is not Marvin Harrison.

Poor QB play is not the reason this team is 2-4, it's the fact that we have a lack of talent on the roster overall, which Tuna and co are in the process of addressing.

Sit Henne until the team is ready for him. Learning from experience is not a good idea when the experience is of throwing to a sub-par receiving corps who struggle to get separation.

Packers win with Rogers coming into his own.
And look how much time he spent on the bench learning his trade. Patience.

I agree with your premise, but your logic is faulty. A good QB is required, so I want the QB I like to start. That does not make any sense! Why should Henne start of Pennington?
