Fins D Gets Some Love...

well we are better than the pats no doubt or we wouldnt have beat them 21-0 haha.

Why is it that ZT is "rejuvenated"? Isn't he just the same great player every year?

tell me about it. I don't think you could possibly show any year that he's played where his production has dropped off. Even in his injured seasons he's played outstanding.

Is it just me or is all this hype around how the Pats are just going to roll all over everyone just a little extreme ? Starting to sound like the Yankees. Bringing in all the high profile free agents and how they are going to kill everyone. I'd be a little worried if I were a Pats fan because they have nowhere to go but DOWN with where everyone in the media is putting them at right now. I like us being the underdogs here because the focus is off us (except for all the DC drama).

and its not like these sole called "high profile" players are that great anyways. They are def setting themselves up for disappointment

can you post the article...I dont get espn at work

can't do that...you know it's against the tos...I have however, for your viewing pleasure, cut out the part I thought would be of interest to you...

Best defense in the AFC East?
Hoge: Miami Dolphins
It's hard to go against New England here, but I feel the Dolphins' defense is a little bit more formidable. The addition of Joey Porter adds more passion and versatility to an already fiery and versatile unit. I expect another great season from reigning defensive player of the year Jason Taylor and a rejuvenated Zach Thomas. Theismann: Patriots
The Patriots get the nod here, too. They were very good before the addition of linebacker Adalius Thomas, but now they are devastatingly good. They have Pro Bowl-caliber players at every level of the defense and have the ability to switch seamlessly from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and back. Bill Belichick is at his best when he has the option to switch formations like that without any drop-off in performance.

Thanks :cooldude:

Theisman is a jack***. They have a pro bowl DE, we have a pro bowl DE, they have 2 pro bowl LB's, we have 2 pro bowl LB's, they have no pro bowl safeties (Harrison is far from pro bowl - Injuries), we have no Pro bowl safeties. As of right now they have no pro bowl CB(AS is threatening a hold out for 10 games and history shows BB wont pay him so he may be gone as well), we have no probowl CB. They can easily shuffle from a 3-4 to a 4-3, we can easily shuffle from a 3-4 to a 4-3...So Theisman, I ask, in which part of your tiny brain does this calculation make NE better than Miami?

just thought it was cool that merrill thought our def was better than the PATS

ESPN should change their name to the Yankees-RedSox-Patriots channel. It is like no other teams seem to exist. I am surprised we don't get hourly updates on what Roger Clemens and Tom Brady have for breakfast/lunch and dinner. Glad that Hoge gave us some props. I think too many receivers is going to spoil the broth in New England. There's still only one football to go around.

And when moss becomes a non factor and cant get as many balls as he wants he'll start crying like a baby and destroy that team on his own

That Pats defense is sooo devastatingly good that they gave up a lot of yds to the Chargers and then had a meltdown in the 4th quarter against the Colts.:)
That defense is made better because of BB ability to hide their schemes, thereby hiding the holes in his defense. HOWEVER, if an O-coordinator figures them out then the Pats can be had.
