And it is OK if that meant uncertainty in the immediate future, as long as the big picture remained in focus and progress was noted.

One game into the regular season, and those concepts of patience and trust have joined Dolphins fans on the ledge.

Oh, my God, Ted Ginn Jr. is still not good.

Ricky and Ronnie combined for 16 touches and 46 yards. The worst possible thing has happened.

Ernest Wilford was inactive for the game. What a colossal misstep.

It is amazing how one loss can bring with it such a disproportionate amount of concern, criticism and panic.

Wow it seems that Israel and I think very much alike. I posted an article a couple days ago based on the patience we should have with Ginn.I thought this was a good read.

Valid points, but you'll I'm sure you'll catch heat for agreeing with this stance.

he says the fanz are panicking over 1 game.

he is right. dead on the money!

the finz have won ONE GAME in the last 19 and that
is something to panick about!!

yeah, i know, we were never going to the superbowl.

but as the jet game showed, NOTHING seems to have changed.

db's give up huge, stupid plays. qb throws a pic at the wrong time.
defense cant stop the run. penalties. wr's are seen only on the
back of milk cartons. bad play calling. week run game. dropped
balls, o-line break downs, etc....

i was looking for ONE THING, the team to have improved in just
ONE area. so far, it hasnt.

and that IS reason to panick!

1 win in 19 regular season games and a pathetic 10 years
of football.

its not the one loss to the jets thats the panick. its the
not winning at all and a team that continues to pass on
talent at the skill positions is what the panick is over.

i didnt expect the superbowl, not at all.

but i shure didnt expect this either!

``I can remember when I was coaching Bob [Griese] here at the same age, and I can remember Dan Fouts in the league at the same age. They had no stronger arm than Chad Pennington has.''

LOL! I agree also. You will certainly be flamed by the "we expect instant results" crowd, but those of us with who are willing to trust the coaches and front office to develop this team in the right way totally get it. Wanna-be GM's abound everywhere. You just have to pat them on the head and let them vent their frustrations like you would a kid.

The first game was definately a let down for many of us fans, not only did we not we, we looked bad. Too many mistakes and penalty's and lots of ineffectiveness make fans coming off a 1-15 season a little jumpy. Have a little patience with the fans, things will start to look better and the rabid fans might actually behave (once in a while :)).

One thing I disagreed in the article...

The fact that two-thirds of the summer free agent signings no longer are with the team doesn't help the front office's case.

I think this speaks volumes as to the process that is underway... They are actively searching for guys who will play their type of football in their system... This means that roster turnover will be high... Personally I love it... Keep bringing guys in and keep moving them out if they don't fit.

People forget one thing... There are only so many ball players out there... And only so many in each draft... We are ultimately handcuffed by 'timing' in terms of what is available for what we need... We need to be exhaustive...

I applaud the restraint with our cap space. Stockpile picks, ultimately stockpile youth, install a system and STICK TO IT.

Patience is indeed a virtue but IT DOES NOT EQUAL COMPLACENCY. To all the fans that are screaming for 'ACTION' the fact is... We are doing ANYTHING BUT sitting on our hands...
