The interest in Dqwell Jacksonn, Tyson Jackson, and Earl Mitchell make me wonder if a scheme change might be coming

a start over again...how bout they just get it right personell wise and stick to it...either way signing jackson is a bad waste of money imo...in a 43 it's a joke

I think we need to scheme to fit our talent, so a change might not be a bad idea

Our front 7 have all successfully played in a 3-4 before.

Why is it a start over? We played 3-4 plenty under Coyle. We've been running a hybrid for years.

this is outside of the box thinking that I actually like.

tyson jackson is not a hybrid dt though...he can try and play in a 43 but it's gonna suck...i get what you are saying

A quote from Coyle:

"The days of saying we're going to line up and play a 4-3 or a 3-4 are somewhat distant right now in terms of the way the game has evolved," said Coyle told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Many people are focusing on the formations, but what really matters is the role they play when the ball is snapped.

I honestly dont know much about how he has played in 2013 without Crennel, but I have no problem with our FO and coaching staff giving this guy a look if they have a plan for him.

How many snaps do you think we played in a 3-4 last year?

I suppose you are going to read me some stat from PFF. I'm more interested in the tech each DT plays....like Soliai playing the nose and Starks or Odrick playing the 5 tech.

All PFF is going to tell you is how many LB's and DT's were on the field during a given play.

Jackson has been a huge disappointment thus far in his career. From watching him myself and I'm no expert, I wouldn't even describe his career as average up to this point.

Maybe because Dion trade rumors have validity

On the contrary.

If we are looking at Jackson as a 3-4 DE, Jordan is back home as a 3-4 OLB.

Odrick at the other 3-4 DE, Wake at 3-4 OLB (Terrible in pass coverage, so he would be all time rush OLB). Not sure who at DT though.

Wake and Jordan will compliment each other well. Jordan has rushing skills, but can seem to cover TE's well (ala Gronk), and Wake is a push rush specialist. 3-4 is the ideal system, IMHO. A hybrid system would be hard to incorporate, but, when executed properly, it produces extreme gains.

Yup.

Just leaves Vernon lost in translation. Ellerbe and Misi at the iniside?

Fins dont run a 3-4, theyve been a 4-3 and hybrid D scheme. Going to 3-4 requires a plug at NT i.e. Solai...wouldnt make sense letting him go if fins were thinking more 3-4 d plays. Nor would they be considering "athletic" DT's either. Nope, not gonna happen. DJ will spend time on the pine, again.
