New England is not playing good football right now. Carolina's D played well against the so-called high powered Patriots offense. Now if only Carolina had a real QB, they would've won that game with ease.
Take into account that New England is terrible on the road and 2 of their next 3 are on the road, I could see a semi-meltdown, with them losing 1 or maybe 2 of the next three... @ Buff, Jax, @ Houston

Baltimore is having problems of their own but as long as you have the pieces on defense that, that team has, they should be able to sweep their final three. Their offense is nothing to write home about. They do have a solid running game to go along with a semi-solid defense and thats a good recipe for success, especially against their final three opponents...Chicago, @ Pitt, Oakland (The crappy Oakland with Russel playing QB again)

Denver is almost a lock.
Jax is only in the wildcard race bc of their easy schedule. Now comes Colts and Pats back-to-back. See ya Jags.

I think Baltimore is a good team....I think that they are as good or better than the Patiots....but I still give Pittsburgh a better chance to beat them then I give any of those other teams to beat the Patriots.

Also, we would still have an ok shot at the Wild Card with a Pitts win over Baltimore, even if we drop a game to Tennessee or Houston. But 9-7 will almost guarantee we don't win the division.

this is what i have been saying for weeks... this is the fins' division

I am inclined to agree that the Division may be slightly less difficult. This weekend should eliminate Jacksonville. Buffalo just may come up big and if they do and we win, we have the division lead with the toughest of the three remaining games done.

I hear what your saying but statisticly speaking the wildcard is an easier route for us. There are 8 games remaining that can get us in and only 3 involve the Pats. This is of course only if we win out. I wouldn't say Denver is a lock either because if they lose to KC or Oak we jump in there spot and divisional games are never a gimme.

We have to win the division, we can not let a Buffalo loss be the game that keeps us out of the playoffs.......................

The only team I see beating the Pats is the Texans. Pats have a weak secondary which should allow Schuab & A.Johnson to have a great game.

The only way Miami can win the division is if the Pats lose to Buffalo this week.. Miami can win the division by having a better division record than the Pats, but only if the Pats lose to the Bills on Sunday.

By losing to the Bills Sunday:

Miami is 4-2 in the division
NE would be 3-3 in the division.

If the Pats beat Buffalo but lose one of the next two, then the Pats still hold the tie-breaker for the Division against us.... the way the tiebreakers are set, that's just the way it is.

If NE loses to Houston or their final game, but beat the Bills.. and if Miami wins out, then the Pats win the division because they own the "other" tie-breakers.

So they must lose to the Bills for us to win the "division record" tie-breaker.

Because if the Pats beat the Bills, then the only way we can win the division is with a better overall record than the Pats... and that means they would have to lost both of their final 2 games, and we would have to win out.

So pray your butt off that the Bills beat em this Sunday and we can still win the division by virtue of the better "division record" tie breaker.

Not true if we win out and the Pats lose to anyone we own the tiebreaker.

Incorrect.

If the Pats lose to the Jags or Texans, it would be their 3rd loss against common opponents (outside our division), and their 5th AFC loss. Miami would be even in head-to-head, division record, and common opponents* (5-3) -- and then win the 10-6 tiebreak with a better conference record (8-4 vs 7-5).

ANY Pats loss gives us the division, if we finish 10-6.

* Common opponents would include division teams, but since the tiebreak only applies when division records are already even, you can just consider the eight other common games for this. This year, for our division, it's teams from the AFC South and NFC South.

Yeah... sorry to tell you this, but you're just wrong here. I live in Baltimore, my roommates are diehard Ravens fans, and I watch them every week - they are NOT as good a football team as their record shows. Remember, they started 3-0, just like the Jets, and sucked their way back down. Flacco has been subpar, their defense is not what it used to be, and they're missing key players.

That being said, I'd personally prefer taking the division, but let's play these three games first.

don't know how I can be wrong on something as subjective as 'they are a good team'...but safe to say you disagree with me.

They have played a TOUGH schedule...tougher than ours, and they have the same record. They are 9th in the league in points scored. Their defense which isn't what it used to be is 4th in the league in points allowed.

They aren't better than the Colts or the Chargers, but I'm not putting any other team in the AFC ahead of them (Pats would be about even IMO).

not really. right now, our opponents have a cumulative record of 95-74. that's better than their 92-77.

Exactly.

I feel like Houston should win that game at home vs. New England. They have the weapons on offense to exploit that weak NE secondary.

Factor in that NE is 1-5 on the road for the season with their only win coming in London vs. the Bucs, and it seems they could easily lose both of those upcoming road games, especially considering they are playing their worst overall right now.

Which means not only is our easiest path the division title, but there is still a decent chance we could win it at 9-7 if NE drops both of those road games. The Jests still have to play the Colts on the road and unless Manning sits after the 1st qtr, I dont see them beating the Colts on the road.

If we win this weekend, I see us going 10-6 and winning the division.

Also, dont sleep on Baltimore losing on the road in either of their last 2 games. Oakland did sign Loss-man to replace Gradkowski and he is a better option than Bustell. They have been playing decent football and that is a cross country trip for the Ravens who really arent that good IMHO.
