Dolphins | Matt Flynn receiving low-ball offer
Sat, 17 Mar 2012 18:47:39 -0700

Free-agent QB Matt Flynn (Packers) reportedly wants to sign with the Miami Dolphins, but the team is low-balling the offer, thinking he will take it just to play for Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, who was his former offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.

This is great news. We are trying to build our team through the draft, which means we will highly draft a QB in the first round this year or next year...either way, we need a franchise QB...

If Philbin thought that highly of Flynn he would push to sign him at all costs...hence the low-ball offer, I dont think Philbin is willing to put his coaching career on the line for Flynn...

Let's hope Flynn signs elsewhere and look forward to the draft

So you outbid yourself to sign him? I like that strategy.

dolphins are dum. If u dont believe in the guy dont sign him at all, this is what we went threw with chad henne the last 4 years. If u believe in flynn pay him the money, if u dont than go to draft and spend less.

There's only one other team showing interest and they want him to compete with Tarvaris freakin Jackson. We can lowball him all we want. The bigger concern is why isn't he getting more heat. Sea is lukewarm and desperate Cle has shown no interest.

I think it is more of an indication what Cleveland is going to do with that 4th pick.

That was ugly to read. I get your point though and i kind of agree on that, but you could fix a bit your writing :S

Maybe we're in talks with Alex Smith, and he's holding the process up waiting on Peyton's decision.

It's strange to be that confident taking Tannehill at 4. It still doesn't speak well for Flynn that they consider a converted WR 1 year starter who would cost them the 4th overall pick to be a better risk than Flynn.
