Aside from the fan base withdraw syndrome causing microscoping the Porter thing...the real glaring and emerging problem is the complete lack of leadership, on either side of the ball.

There is noone on D, noone on O, that has the credibility to command respect and leadership.

Zach Thomas was that Leader for our D. Dan Marino for our O.

Who now? Nobody.

And that my friends, is why the Fins swooned when they needed to step up the most.

We better find that FA stud to lead this team....both on the field in the huddle and in the locker room.

Or next year will be more or less same as this year.

Unremarkable.

the leader on Offense now should be Chad Henne but when Pennington was healthy he was a good leader and IDK maybe JT should be the leader on Defense or Crowder or maybe YB

What do you mean by leadership, Thomas led by example no by mouthing off like porter, do you see Manning as a vocal leader?
The fans are reacting to a guy who wants out because he can't back up his mouth.
I enjoyed the Fins last few games and how they competed with all the injuries they had as a matter of fact considering the problems that Porter talks about I'm more impressed now than before.
I don't think we have a leadership problem, we have a Porter problem that will be dealt with soon enough.

Yes, someone on the playing field needs to hold players accountable, while leading by example (play making example). I personally would like to see our new young core guys take this lack of leadership by the horns.

Sorry, we need TALENT. Playmakers first, leadership second.

Chad Henne, is not a GREAT leader...teammates do not have complete confidence in him...not yet that is

I agree, and started saying this to people about midway through the season. Miami missed to boat when they didn't want to go out and signed aging FSs like Sharper or Dawkins, and instead went for a younger SS and having him play FS. They also could have gone after an older Keith Brookings instead of resigning Crowder. Pennington was to be the leader on offense, but he got hurt, and that happens. Henne and Long need to step up and become the leaders on offense and I am real big on Sean Weatherspoon not only because of his playing abilities but because of his leadership.

The folks that say Miami needs talent, well I agree to a point that talent needs to be upgraded at LB and WR, but this team was in most games and had the two Super Bowl teams on the ropes and should have won both games so talent is there, leadership is not.

These are not mutually exclusive.

The most talented players are usually leaders as well. It is through their consistency and playmaking ability that causes teammates to look to them for Leadership.

Manning, Brady, Brees, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Junior Seau, Merriman, etc...

We have none.

Currently, you are right, we have none. but that doesn't mean someone or some players we have currently can't become leaders. We have two CB's, where one could emerge as a leader if not both, and Henne could also become a leader. It can't happen overnight.

I agree with you on this point, but it is my opinion that we need talented players that develop into leaders. I don't think just an infusion of leadership will help this team much at all.

You don't think this team has character guts heart and courage, I don't agree I think there is alot of leaders in this team and they'll be stronger as they get experience they never quit and they easily could of after the Bills loss.
I think there is alot of Peezys in this thread.
