Perhaps it has been documented on here before - the combined score of the Dolphins last 4 Playoff game loses is an astounding 147 - 13!!!
38-3 to Denver in 98; 62-7 to Jax in 99; 27 - 0 to Oakland in 2000; and 20-3 to the Ravens in 2001.
Why do I bring this up? Not sure other than it sure is ugly. During that time the Fins have won a couple of PO games in squeakers against the Bills/Seahawks/Indy only to be blown out the following week. This, of course, is a different team in a different time so this means nothing except from a historical standpoint.
I expect a close game on Sunday and the 'Fins have fared well in tight games this year. PTR!

I agree, if we are within 7 with 5:00 to go I will feel pretty good. That is all we can ask for. If this team has anything it has heart.

This team has a huge heart....I never doubt them that they can't come back! WOOOOOOO! BELIEVE IN NOW - BELIEVE IN THE FINS! Let the past be just that the PAST!

LETS GO PHINS!

Funny thing is... All the games in the past that should have meant Something this year. Haven't meant anything. You can clearly see how this is a whole new organization/team. time to win. ;)

I will tell you why our playoff losses have been that bad.

# 1 bad coaching

#2 not enough playmakers on offense and it has been that way since Jimmy's administration.

#3 I think in those playoff games we were probally overrated especially at wr and linebacker (excluding zach )

the new england loss wasnt the fault of the players it was the bad playcalling that did us in.

This is a brand new team, none of that patching up with bandaids team....

Here is a bit of playoff history that I prefer to remember, if we look to the past.

1971 - After winning the AFC East the Dolphins find themselves in a Christmas Day Classic games against the Chiefs in Kansas City. All day the Dolphins could not stop the Chiefs star runner Ed Podolak. However the Dolphins would claw back every time the Chiefs grabbed the lead. The game would go on into Overtime tied at 24. In OT both teams missed big opportunities to end the game, as it carried on into a second OT. The Dolphins would finally win the game 27-24 on Garo Yepremian's 37-yard Field Goal. The game, which lasted 82 minutes and 40 seconds, is still the longest in NFL history. One week after the marathon in Kansas City the Dolphins hosted the Colts in the AFC Championship game. The Dolphins would win the game impressively 21-0 in front of 78, 629 at the Orange Bowl the clinching TD came when Safety Dick Anderson returned an interception 62-yards for a TD.
But, enough about the past, good and bad, let's take care of business on Sunday! go Phins!

boy do i remember that jags game. that was brutal.i'd try to race to the fridge for a cold one and by the time i got back the jags still added more points on the board.what a bloodletting!

I remember all the losses but especially remember Miami getting trounced by Oakland and Baltimore because of Fiedlers deficiencies.... and the Wannstedt kept thinking he was good enough for a Super Bowl ring.

Let's see a couple of things:

1. No JJ
2. NO wanny
3. No Cam
4. No loser in this franchise

Will we win sunday? I don't know.

i went to the last playoff game against baltimore and let me tell you guys how freakin lame our fans were nobody was even pumped up for the game i mean maybe our fans just expected to loose but either way we won the division and had a home playoff game we should have done everything in our power as fans to help them win i was yelling at people to get off their a**** and make some noise i was extremely dissipointed so for those who are going please please be loud!!!! love u guys go miami!!

Miami made the playoffs '98-'01... Ahhhh... the good times. Now I remember why I became a 13 year old Marino/Dolphin fan.

we also made the playoffs in '97. but we lost in the wildcard round to the PATS!!!! boy do i hate the pats.....I'M GLAD WE KNOCKED THEM OUT THIS YEAR :sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol::sidelol:

Correct we lost 17 -3 in that one bringing our losing total to 164 - 16. Ouch!!! That has to be the worst 5 game string any team has ever put together. It's an average loss of 35 - 3!!! That's almost impossible - yet the (JJ/Wanny era) Fins did it. Even this year's worst loss 31-10 to Az was more respectable than the ave. of those 5 dispicable games.
It's better not to be in the PO's than put out that kind of effort. At least you get to draft in a better slot. All those mediocre team finishes in the late 80's and 90's kept the Fins from drafting higher and fixing the problems on def and running game. The recent poor records have yielded Brown, Ginn, Long and others. Now hopefully we can compete.
