I know there is a salary cap forum but I see tons of people wondering what the Fins cap space is as well as what each players cap hit is because they worry that if we sign Manning we will be in cap hell and unable to sign any other players.

I found this entire breakdown on spotrac.com (Mods feel free to move this but with so many people asking the question I thought I might as well post it in the general forum).

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/cap-hit/

The first column is the base, the second is the signing bonus, the third is other bonuses, and the fourth is their 2012 cap hit.

You can see with the restructing of a few contracts I.E. Dansby and Marshal, the resigning of Long to a new deal, and the jettison of a few players; Bell, Cook & Moore (wr) we could easily afford Manning and probably even Wayne.

Looking at that shows we have some very underpaid and very overpaid players which I assume is normal everywhere. I certainly can't see us paying McDaniel 3M a year. Bell at 6M and Fasano over 4M could be casulties as well. Of course I don't know how much we actually save with each player and how much still counts toward the cap.

I've been on the ditch Bell and move to Jones wagon for quite sometime, still saying it. Half a million or 6 million? McDaniel makes too much for his rotational time imo. I wish Fasano would restructure (along with a few others...) but I wouldn't want to lose him with no one other than Clay to play.

Don't shoot the messenger. They say the information comes direct from the NFL office and just by looking, it appears pretty close. You got better information? If so please post.

It's a lot different from the list I saw, Elliott, BUT it's close enough to get across your point. (N.B.: The numbers are $ Millions)

E.G. INCOGNITO--at www.nyjetscap.com lists him as follows: Salary-$3.3, All Bonuses-$1.583, cap-$4.883, and CAP SAVING-$2.716,667.
E.G. DANSBY--same site has his #s as Salary-$8.8, All Bonuses-$2.525, cap-$11.325, and CAP SAVING-($50,000) (A LOSS if we cut him)
E.G. BELL--same site has his #s as Salary-$4.3, All Bonuses $1.9, cap-$6.2, and CAP SAVING-$4.350. Big gain, by cutting BELL)

Trusnik is making 1,000,000 a year?
I can add up 5M with guys that never touch the field, not to mention some restructuring.
Long and Dansby are over paid IMHO.
