Fins sign 2-year deal with Lawrence Timmons

He'll be a 2 downer here anyway.

Not likely. He's a 3 down LB. No reason to use him otherwise. Played over 90% of the snaps last year.

He's not a 2 down thumper for us folks. When you sign vets like Timmons you're relying on the game smarts over their athletic ability in which they've probably already peaked. He should play Mike every down.

Even Timmons said himself that there wasn't a big market for him. Speaking of paid professionals in other front offices....what does that tell you?

I don't think it was a terrible signing considering the price but some are acting like he's going to be a savior of the defense like he's coming off his rookie contract. I'm not expecting him to be anything more than solid.

No, he is a piece of a defense, and you know how you fix a defense, piece by piece...they now have one more piece, they didn't have when they started FA.

With the Timmons signing (Who happens to be very smart, and capable...by the way), that moves Kiko outside to his more natural position...it allows Miami to be more flexible in the draft, rather then the pressure of needing to hit at LB twice..and it did not cost them as much as it should have to find a reliable starter.

Nice birthday post bro!:brewskis: I really enjoy watching Gase at work of putting this team together. It is great to finally have a head coach that gets it.

Go get Reddick, and our LB squad will be ready for primetime.

Don't know about anybody else.

But I am still sour about Timmons stomping on Ricky tearing his pectoral muscle in the primetime mud bowl.

How would you feel about him if he did that to Brady?

Ozzy rules!!

btw....here's this from rotoworld

Nate Allen - DB - Free Agent

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins are "closing in" on a deal with free agent S Nate Allen.
It sounds like Allen should be signed by Friday evening. The ex-Raider would be a warm body for a team that needs depth behind Reshad Jones.

Now the only 'hole' is at LG (or RG). BPA? Now I like Watt to develop at SLB, tested well just needs time in the saddle.

Andre Branch is young and had 5.5 sacks when he didn't even play full time. Wake is still good. Timmons and Alonso should work well together. Now im just wondering why we went after William Hayes...it would have been far wiser to go for Jabaal Sheard.

I don't agree with you about Sheard, the only thing I could see is the age difference but Hayes is much better against the run and seems to fit what they're trying to do rotational -wise. Beware of players that New England lets go.

The same way Steelers fans felt when he did it to Ricky.

Except, Ricky is how do you say, a Saint compared to the likes of the individual you are referring to.

Solid is a lot better than we've been getting

Knowing our history, he will probably get hurt in the 1st game and be out for the year.:rolleyes2:

New Miami.. get that crap outta here lol

people are calling him the Mike. wouldnt he be more a Sam?

I agree with you, I think Timmons will play the SAM and Kiko will remain the MIKE.

SAM - L. Timmons
MLB - Kiko ALonso
WILL - Whoever we draft in the first round (Hasaan Reddick, Jarrad Davis or Reuben Foster, should he slip)

Can we get Jarrad Davis at Will.....imagine two heavy hitters roaming about.
