Dolphins signed OT Ray Willis, formerly of the Seahawks.
Willis didn't play a down last season thanks a knee injury, but started all 16 games for the Seahawks in 2009. However, he was slated for a backup role before getting hurt last summer, and won't draw any starts this season unless injury ravages Miami's offensive line

Dolphins released OT Micah Kia.
An undrafted free agent out of UCLA, Kia has NFL size at 6-foot-5, 331 pounds. He should end up on somebody's practice squad/

Free agent QB Troy Smith has worked out for the Dolphins.
Smith has found a soft market after throwing for 1,176 yards and posting a 77.8 quarterback rating in parts of six games for the 49ers last season, but would certainly be an upgrade over current Dolphins' third-stringer Kevin O'Connell. It's possible he could even push Matt Moore for the Dolphins' backup job if he ends up in Miami.

Not a bad idea to check under Troy Smith's hood and kick his tires. However, at this point the chances of catching lightning in a bottle with him may be better than picking the winning Powerball numbers tonight, but IMO considerably worse than the probability that at least 5 new anti-everything Fins threads start up today. If we're gonna have 3 QBs, I'd rather develop Devlin than lose him on the PS because we opened up roster space for yet another QB retread.

poo pooers will say here we go again with this lame *** bunch.

I will say they are turning over rocks looking for support players in case of injury. they probably called leonard davis's reps last week and asked his price. They balk because what they really need now is good backups. We are looking for the best 8 guys on OL. This is the time you do it.

Troy Smith will make for a more interesting Madden 12 season... Not much for the NFL season though...

What, are there no worthless ex-Cowboy OL out there any more?

As a fan of The Ohio State, I would like to sign Troy Smith. Im not sure how much he can help the team, but Id like to say hes a Miami Dolphin. Having said that, when he was with San Fran, I dont think he did too bad. If I remember correctly, he was the only one that seemed to be able to win them any games that one year

Im with you on this one, Vaark. If he is there for competition for Moore, then great. If he's going to bump out O'Connell or Devlin (who I'd personally like to see stick) then let's just let the younger guns duke it out.
