This is how I realistically think the starting lineup will be next year.

QB: Daunte Culpepper or Cleo Lemon, Drew Stanton
This one depends on preseason performance because new coaches usually like to set the tone by having open competition at questionable positions. I think we pick Stanton in the late second.

RB: Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams
I fully believe Ricky will be back and we will be one of the more successful RBBC teams. If Ricky has stayed in shape then we could have two thousand yard rushers but more than likely it will be Ronnie with the 1000+ and Ricky with more touchdowns.

FB: Corey Schlesinger
This guy is an animal that will open lanes for Tricky Ricky and Touchdown Brown.

WR: Randy Moss or Terrence Copper, Chris Chambers, and Marty Booker
I hope we pull the trigger on a trade for Moss but assuming we don't I guess we'd pick up some decent value like Terrence Copper.

TE: David Martin or Clarence Moore
I always questioned Martin's signing because he doesn't seem like a Cam Cameron tight end but today my suspicions seem to be in the process of bearing some fruit. It looks like we are highly interested in Clarence Moore who at 6 foot 6 and athletic completely fits the Cameron tight end mold. I think Moore will be our TE if we pull the trigger. Seeing how we have done business so far it seems likely.

LT: Joe Staley
This guy is a great fit who is our top of the second round pick and will help us tremendously.

LG: LJ Shelton
Decent stopgap until we draft or sign a replacement.

C: Rex Hadnot
He has done well for us and I see no reason he won't continue to do well for us.

RG: Adam Goldberg
This guy freaking massive and would help tons.

RT: Vernon Carey
He came into his own last season and I have a feeling he will continue to improve because he has a lot of potential.

DE: Vonnie Holliday
Has been nothing but solid for us since we picked him up from the Chiefs.

DT: Alan Branch and Keith Traylor
I think we pick up Branch in the first and use both him and Traylor alternating in and out. If Manny Wright comes back then we will use him too. Fred Evans also might be in the mix. He hasn't been sent to Europe so it seems we will keep him on the active roster. He has lots of potential and did well in preseason so he might be in at nose instead of Branch but I find that a stretch so Branch stays.

DE: Matt Roth and Rodrique Wright
They will battle it out for the starting job with Roth winning in the end because Wright is coming off of an injury.

ROLB: Jason Taylor
Defensive MVP last year so that really sums it up.

MLB: Zach Thomas and Channing Crowder
Zach Thomas drank that water from Tuck Everlasting I guess because he just continues to be awesome. Crowder is an awesome player that was a great pick by Saban. I hate what Saban did but at least he drafted some solid players.

LOLB: Joey porter
I hope he is still good. This guy has been an animal for so long I find it hard to believe he is losing a step like all the reports claim. If he is an animal like I know he is this reports should fuel him to have a great season because this guy shows up when trash is talked like in the super bowl when he got even with Jerramy Stevens AKA Emperor Dropped Balls.

CB: Jason Allen, Travis Daniels, Will Allen, Andre Goodman
Yes our CBs are not that great but they will get the job done.

SS: Yeremiah Bell
I have wanted him to start ever since the Chargers game two years ago where we destroyed them and he had that awesome sack.

FS: Ken Hamlin
He is a good player that we can get for a decent price. He is an immediate upgrade over what else we have.

K: Jay Feely
Olindo Mare is no longer a good kicker. I don't see how you can just lose the ability to kick but he has. His contract is definitely way too much for all the missed field goals. Jay Feely will win us games unlike P'Olindo.

P: Donnie Jones
Solid punter we found in the rough.

KR/PR: Kelly Campbell or Marcus Vick
They will battle it out for the spot in camp and preseason. I think Campbell wins but gets injured and does well filling in. Campbell is definitely injury prone.

Draft:
1: Alan Branch NT: We need this guy more than anybody else and if he drops to here we take him. If he doesn't make it then Brady Quinn if he is there will probably get looked at as well as Adam Carriker, Laron Landry, Leon Hall and Ted Ginn Jr.
2: Joe Staley LT: Good value at the top of the second who has played solid at Michigan and the rumor is that we value him high as well.
2: Drew Stanton QB: We need the future and him or Lemon seem possible. If Quinn doesn't fall then he is the pick.
All picks after the second round have little chance of actually coming true but if I was the GM this is how I would do it.
3: Tarell Brown CB: This guy is awesome but he got in trouble with the law so no one wants him. This guy would be going in round one so he is definitely worth the risk of a third round pick. I feel he has heart especially because he played his entire senior year with a broken bone rather than sitting.
4: Brandon Myles WR: Very very fast and a good deep threat. He could also contribute on special teams as a KR/PR if Vick and Campbell don't pan out.
6: Nate Harris LB or Kelvin Smith ILB:
Both are good value in the sixth that could be situational starters with Smith having the potential to be a starter. He was a monster for the Syracuse Orangedudes even though they were TERRIBLE!
7: Michael Allan TE: This guy has the potential to be a solid TE similar to Putzier the former Bronco and current Texan.
7: Chris Henry RB: Is a great athlete but never has played up to his potential He is well worth a late round flier though since he could be a solid backup.

ummmm clarence moore is a WR and crowder is a olb and drew stanton i belive is gone before we can take him with our second 2nd round pick. and u have to asume taylor would play some DE in some sceems as well as olb. but i think you have it pretty close anyways so i dont want to bash your thread and didnt we lose fonoti?

Didn't Toniu Fonoti sign with someone else?? I also think we can do better in the first then Branch.

David Martin is one of the most athletic TEs around. How is he not a Cameron type of TE?

Why move Shelton to LG when he played so well at RG next to Carey. Leave him there for continuity.

Fonoti signed with Atlanta two days ago.

Where's Alabi and Toledo?

Looks pretty good otherwise.

Cam Cameron likes tall tight ends with long arms and a high vertical like Gates. That is why Clarence Moore is gonna be our version of Gates. He will line up in TE sets like Colston did in NO if we sign him. I just feel he will be a redzone monster like Gates. Martin may be athletic but he is too short at 6'2. The extra 4 inches may not seem significant but in the NFL it can make a big difference between being open and not open.

I put Shelton there because I think he would do better than Goldberg.

Alabi and Toldeo aren't ready yet in my opinion. They were people with high potential that needed time to realize it. I see Alabi possibly contributing late in the season but not early on. Toledo will take two years to catch on if ever because the injury was a huge set back not to mention he moved to OL from TE his junior year so he only has 3 years of OL experience.

Seems good, im not gonna bash you like other dolphins fan dolphins fan shouldn't bash each other every single time they get a chance. The roster seems realistic, some minor problems you had. I hope having some different players helps us, if not, another down year wouldn't hurt either since we could get another high draft pick afterwards.

We are going to have to draft more OL. The TE can wait to be upgraded until next year.

IMO we would be far better off waiting on QB until next year. Next year we will have huge cap space and lots of extra picks. We should be able to maneuver ouselves into position to get Colt Brennan or at least Brohm.

This years draft has to focus on OL and........we may end up needing a RB.

With the re-signing of Traylor and the promising play of Evans and the return of the Wrights, If Branch does slide to us we trade down. And their WILL be trade partners. We aren't even close to desperate for a nose, but a few other teams are, very very desperate.

And don't forget to watch Fifita in NFL Europe.

And Paul Soliai in the 4th may turn out better than Branch. Several scouts have called him boom or bust.

Love to have that Joe Staley in a Dolphin uni.

I doubt Miami gets Randy Moss. From what I understand the Raiders want a QB in return. The Packers and Falcons were rumored to be in trade talks for Moss but I read somewhere on this forum the Packers said Aaron Rogers was not an option. So who knows how it turns out.

That and while the prospect of having Daunte and Randy reunited in Miami is intriguing do we really want to invest in a receiver who hasn't gotten it done in the past 2 years?

Do you really think Cam and Mueller would have signed Martin if he wasn't a Cam-type of TE? Martin is 6'4" not 6'2" and very athletic (a converted WR who grew into a TE). His only knock is staying healthy. Besides, you can not say what type of player Cam likes by what he coached in San Diego.

If Shelton is better than Goldberg on the left side then we should find someone who can play the left side. Shelton and Carey have some continuity together and that is something our O-Line hasn't had in a long time.

We don't know if Alabi and Toledo are ready yet because Saban preferred to bring the rookies along slowly.

Clarence Moore converted to TE. Now there's an interesting concept. He's a jump ball specialist on Baltimore's Goal Line package. So, yea, I could see this. I could really see us going after him IF he could make the transition to TE and become a decent blocker.

Otherwise, with Peele and Martin, and I believe we have Rader back.... it's going to be a logjam at TE. So, unless he can block and catch, I don't see it happening.

How many TE's did we carry last year... 2, 3?

If we go with 3 TE's, I think it's pretty obvious we're gonna pound it.

Moss is going to GreenBay. The trade is probably going down today and apparently Aaron Rodgers is involved as well. This draft board might get shaken up a bit if Aaron Rodgers goes to Oakland..... but also, I just CAN'T see them passing on Russel. Who knows?

Moore wasn't much of a jump ball specialist last year. That could be due to McNair not being very good at throwing it.

We carried 3 TEs last year. The third TE usually came in on short yardage and goal line situations.
