Only 1-2 "elite" DL that can play NT available in this years draft. Center is deep with lots of quality with some very good guards.

I dont believe Trifecta takes WR in 1st because it typically takes 3 years for rook to develop i.e. Ginn (and many of us are still waiting).

Fins look for immediate impact, best player available in area of greatest need at #25 will be NT.

Not sure how FA plays into our needs at ILB, OLB, DE, S, CB, but all are needs that we can fill in FA.

Fins will be bigger and stronger in the middle next year on both sides of the ball. This can only help our run game and free up Ted Ginn from double coverage.

thoughts?

The only nose tackle worthy of being chosen in the first two rounds is BJ Raji, and he'll be long gone. So no.

agreed...who else would you take but Raji at 25 for NT??? if he slips (which has a snowballs chance in hell) then absolutely...

I think much will depend on the value of the player & where they fall.
My opinion has been the same for while now: Center, NT, DB & WR would be the four they'll probably go after.
However, all things being equal, the Center is the priority.

We currently have Soliai which I believe will make his bones in 09. Even so, no doubt about the urgency to sure up the NT when playing w/ 4 line backers & Ferguson will not last forever. We'll have to have two reliable NT's to run this defense.
Might just be that we go for a MonsterDE & convert him to NT in a later round. We've got the time for the project & there are at least two available. NT is the most difficult position to fill with our style defense. It will be addressed.

if we sign brown we will not draft a center, as for nt we will get one in day 2 remember he will fine one in day 2, bp is a lb guy i believe we are getting an lb

We are taking a fly on Wake, but still believe that the FO is looking for that big, impact OLB ...

NT won't be available ... and i don't see us picking a C in rd 1 ... so - OLB, MLB, and DB would be my priorities with #1 .... throw in C for 2d & 3d rounds ....developmental NT and OL won't be until day 2.

Who is this nose tackle that will be the best available player at #25? I hope you aren't referring to BJ Raji because he'll be long gone by the time we pick. A lot of people are saying that Raji's teammate (Ron Brace) will be able to be a nose tackle but he has no value at 25.

At any rate, I'm praying for DHB or Nicks if one of the top pass rushers don't fall.

well with peppers out of reach now why not focus on trying to sign haynesworth and draft where we need it most in the secondary

Because Haynesworth is looking for about $15 million plus per year.

that and he isnt a NT. he is a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 end. he MAY be an ok NT. but im not paying 15 mil to see
They said Kris Jenkins couldn't play NT and he proved them wrong. To say that Albert MAY be an OK NT is understating how good Haynesworth is against double teams. You are right about not paying him $15 million to find out.

we will get ron brace in the 2nd round and we will sign jason brown C from Bal
