Offense:
Total offense rank-9
pass offense-13
rush offense-8
estimated rushing yards 1900
estimated passing yards 3600
total yards per game 345
strengths- passing this year should definately not be a problem
weaknesses- theres still questions about our offensive line
Defense:
total defense rank 8
pass defense 9
rush defense 5
pass yards allowed 3100
rush yards allowed 1750
total yards per game allowed 298
strengths- you can expect zach and jason to bring it every week
weaknesses- secondary may prove to be week point of the defense

Main concern: Although we have alot of veteran leadership, is the team too old to perform to playoff and superbowl standards?

repost and tell me waht you think and add your opinions

i can agree with some of your predicted stats except i dont believe every team we play will rush 100+ yards against us.decent post though.

The 5th best rush defense last year was Seattle and they gave up 1510 yards. This is one area were only one of your numbers can be right.

I know we've gotten better in some areas sice the end of last year but how can you pinpoint where we rank without even playing a game?? I don't know, but this predicition seems just a bit too soon for me.

I think your on the right track with some of your predictions. However, I strongly disagree with the areas of made bold and underlined.

The secondary lacks experience in our system. They need time to "jell." But lets think for a second....hmmmm....What was Nick Saban's specialty before he became a head coach??? Answer: Secondary

Um, I really not sure what you mean by the "team too old" comment. As far as I can see, this team is relatively young compared to the rest of the league. Only Zach, Jason, Keith Trylor and K. Carter are somewhat old on the defense. On the offense, I don't really think anyone is old. Unless you think Daunte at 29 is old????

This is a team with veteran leadership. But it is also a team being infused with youth and talent. It is simply put -- A team on the rise.

And you can bet your last dollar that we will be making a trip to the playoffs this year -- our 1st in four long years. And remember, we have a relatively weak schedule and division this year. If things fall just right....IMO, a SuperBowl appearance (at home) is not out of the question.

We may not go all the way this year....but we will make a run...that much you can bet on.

I agree. It is very difficult to say how we are going to compare with the rest of the league. if you want to try something a little easier, you could try to guess the final stats of the team. Pass yards, rush yard, exc.

I too agree with most of your predictions. I think the secondary was not very good last year and we lost our best two players in Sam and Lance. I disagree with your thoughts on the OL. The OL was in the top third of the league last year. That was the first year under Hudson and now we have all five starters back from last year and two of those guys will be backups. I feel our OL will be in the top 5 in the league. They were close to that last year, with a QB that couldn't run, and less talent.

i deffinantly disagree that the team is to old to perform at playoff and superbowl standards you say that zach and jason will bring it every week which is true but these are also the supposed 'old' guys that you are talking about. i feel we have almost a perfect mix of youth and experience on both sides of the ball hopefully that will prove a strong advantage for us

although that is high standards, i believe we will come close. I ahve a feeling with the spotlight Ronnie is gonna have a breakout year. Just my opinon but if there is one player on our team with the most upside and that i think will come to his full potential i think its him. And if he does. he could hit those numbers.

I think the offensive line isnt the weakness anymore. We have solid starters and added some veterans for depth ie: Mike Pearson, Bennie Anderson. Not to mention Rookie OT Joe Toledo thrown into the mix as well. Our passing defense was weak last year. It should improve from last year, however the only thing is all of our secondary is practically new with the exception of Travis, Travares and Yeremiah. Will Poole is also an exception even though he didnt play last year. But it'll take some time for these new players to gell and understand this complex defense.

Little to soon to say for me. I think our oline will be better than it was last season and i thought they did a hell of a job last season. Our secondary may be filled with new faces but i guarantee you Saban has the right guys back there that is what he specializes in. Our ground game should be just as good if not better than it was last year with ronnie hitting the gym hard and the addition of fred beasly a blocking machine. Our passing game should be better hopefully daunte comes back 100% and stays that way and Joey will learn the system just incase. Both are a upgrade from gus the bust.(the most inconsistent quarterback ive seen in a while). so all in all im exited about this upcoming season and i cant waite to get the season underway.
