Fins trying to get Miller for 5m per year

I was willing to go shorter contract and 6 per. 5 per would be great.

Agree.... And will be utilized a lot more by our new coaching staff, something that he really wanted!

If he signs this deal he bloody better be used a lot!

Only five running backs in the NFL have contracts that average more than $5 million a year: Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy, DeMarco Murray and Jonathan Stewart. So Miller is looking for a deal that would put him among the half-dozen highest-paid running backs in the league.

You pay based on what you think they will do, if Miami plans on giving that kind of cash to an RB, then you are right, get the man 20 plus touches a game.
 
I'm old enough to remember the days when RB was a glamour position. Earl Campbell, OJ Simpson, Franco Harris, Walter Payton, Tony Dorsett, Eric Dickerson.
5 mill is a bargain in this day and age, especially when you look at what LTs are getting paid.
 
So is LM looking for 6 or 7? Not worth that, wonder what Forte or Ivory is looking for.
 
Throw him 5.5 and bump up his guarenteed money and bring our boy home.
 
Well there are lot of good free agents backs out there right now, so he probably realized what his value is. I love Miller, but should we entertainment someone else?
 
5m seems right to me. 4, maybe 5 year deal (that we can get out of after 2 or 3), 25 million, 15ish guaranteed , big signing bonus to reduce cap hit. if 5.5 gets the deal done then fine, but anything around 7 per year is too much


25 year old rb who has rapidly improved in the last few years, has been durable, doesn't have much wear on his shoulders and importantly is a good fit for Gase
 
I've had him pegged at 5/25m, but I'd bump it up to 5/27.5m in good faith and just to lock him up. It's a very fair contract for both sides.
 
Would love to get this done. Would be ok with Ajayi, but you just cannot replace the quick hit chunk yardage and HR ability of Miller.

Find a way to show the gif of him against Houston, IIRC, where he cuts about 1 full yard to the right, then sprints down the seam for a 20+ yard touchdown. Was a pure Lamar Miller move
