What a joke the Pro Bowl now is. Seven Jests named when a case can be made for Jenkins, and Jones for sure and possible Washington at best in comparison to others playing their positions. I fear it's a harbinger of the obstacles we're going to encounter in the Jersey showdown.
Going back to the Tuck Rule, there isn't much I'd put past the NFL and Goodell if it helps follow their script for a desired outcome. There's nothing they'd like more than to extend the story line of Glamor Girl Bretta's resurrection wearing puke green or the revenues generated from a team being pumped up by 5 newspapers in the biggest media center. Pennington coming home to face the team that jettisoned him (pardon the pun) makes for great drama, but beyond this game, I don't see it being in the league's selfish interest to continue this storyline as compared to the one associated with the Drama Queen's last gasp and other aging marquee hired guns.
The Pro Bowl BS was a travesty and has only heightened the fears I've had about questionable one-sided calls against us to come. I don't think the league actually fixes games,(but then again I didn't think the NBA did either), but do believe there's a fine line between that and the discretionary manipulation they empower their officials to employ down to that ridiculous Pittsburgh TD reversal this weekend.
IMO, we had better play lights out because the Jests will be getting all the officiating help.. or at least the critical calls - even if the tape asserts otherwise.
