Maybe they wanted to give him a legitimate chance of being snatched up by another team and kept on the final roster. Seaverns is the top candidate for a LB spot behind Jenkins, and Jenkins currently occupies the last spot. I think we've got other camp fodder LBers in there like Femi's brother Brendan Ayanbadajo so we won't miss the warm body.
