The Dolphins will have the longest winning streak in the league to start out next year unless Pittsburgh or Washington win the Superbowl. And just between you and me I really don't see that happening.
SOOOO after we become the only team to go undefeated for a second time next year, we will again have the record for the longest winning streak. ;)

Yea, if Washington wins next week, they'd be at 7 in a row.
Yeah, but what's he is saying is that unless they win the superbowl, they will end this season with a loss, thus ending this current win streak and beginning next season with a 1 game losing steak..

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner

Yep key words are GOIN INTO NEXT SEASON

That means they could have won 14 in a row now but if they lose the last game it doesnt matter, you hit the nail on the head

And it matters...how? Next year is next year. Jimmy Rollins ended the 2005 season with a 30+ games hitting streak, but even if he gets to 56 it won't count.

Actually yes it will count if he hits 56, streaks carry over to the next year

Its called momentum

You feel better going into next year 9-7 rather than 4-12 its confidence in yourself, the team, and your teammates

Yeah but like he said, they would have to win the superbowl.. Otherwise they wouldn't have a winning streak coming into next season.

And with a new coach it is important that the guys can spend all off season feeling confident in what the coach is trying to get across. After the Browns game Saban made the "results not important" statement, meaning every play is important and if you play every play correctly and only worry about what you can do and your position and everyone understands this, the results will take care of themself.
Since then we are 6-0. They can look back and see his ideas work, not just work but work better than any other team in the league, over the last 6 games.
I'm not saying it is the most important item in the world, just that it cool to be able to say we have the longest winning streak and it CAN help the players see the new system is working...IMO

We barely beat some lousy teams down the stretch, including the 2nd team patriots by 2. I'd take it easy before saying how much better we were than everyone else over the last 6 games, because we still have a lot of improving to do. This isn't Saban's team just yet, but I do think we will make the playoffs next year, and we should be in Super Bowl contention by the 2008 season.

The fact of the matter though is that we BEAT them, we beat the Titans a week after they nearly beat the Seahawks, one of the best teams in the NFL. Any given Sunday even a weak team can win out, this is not like college, in the NFL you have talent, and we were harrassing the PATs 1st team O and their 1st Team D was on the field almost the whole game, don't listen to what the media tells you as it ain't always true. The fact is we beat the PATs and did not have a losing record to any of the AFC E teams and next year I expect a winning record against the Bills and Jests.

I was definitely impressed that we beat AFC east teams, regardless of how pathetic they were this year, and I do believe that we've turned a corner this year and will be a playoff-caliber team next year. I just don't know why people think we're such a "hot" team right now b/c we beat a bunch of lousy teams at the end of the year. I'm just saying that we should win some more games earlier in the season before we start getting all excited. I'm more excited about the draft and seeing what Saban does with this team for the long-term than the results of the 2006 regular season.

Exactly I agree with everything you said

Besides if not for the streak we may be in 'Fire Saban' mode rather than 'Saban is our savior' mode right now
