Fins will try to get Matthews back

I can't imagine being a beat writer this time of year.

I doubt they'll get a deal done with him. The FA WR class is really weak this year. Somebody will at least guarantee him a No. 2 job and pay him as such.

you are gonna hear this about everybody while these beat guys fill their quotas and make it look like they are actually doing something

Mind boggling. As UK says, they can't have them all and if they do there's no way there's room to sign other FA's. Just bizarre.

Drew R. just said Dolphins can resign all of their players. Just restructure and manipulate the cap. Lol

This would assume that all the players would even 'want' to come back, there all going to have other options it looks like.

assumes a lot of things no doubt

He did say one thing thought was very true..

FA is just a projection, you never know how a player is going to work out in a new city, new coaches etc.

Many say Parker and Matthews play the same position and therefore we can't keep Matthews because it will stunt Parker's growth. I ask why can't Miami play the two opposite one another? I envision Parker and Matthews as the modern version of the Cowboys' duo of Irvin and Harper. I know Miami's tandem hasn't proven it yet. But I see similarities in size and speed. If you remember neither Irvin or Harper were burners. They just made plays. I feel Parker and Matthews can do the same for RT. They can make catches with their hands and have big bodies to separate the ball from the defender. Not to mention both are good red zone targets. I love having both on the field with Landry. To me this is our best group ... better than Stills being opposite Parker.

I think Matthews is going to get overpaid this offseason. There is no depth at receiver behind Alshon Jeffery this FA class. No sense of getting into a bidding war for Matthews when he will be at best our #3 next year, we have too many needs elsewhere.

Cannot overpay for Matthews, but I think he is a key resign for the continued growth of Ryan Tannehill.
