Per Rotoworld. Not breaking news but thought you guys might want to know.
Obviously they are trying to upgrade over Haynos or Nalbone.

well at ths point thats the only TE u can get unless umake a trade. Pascoe is no worse than Albone or Haynos.

so now were looking to have 4 TE's?? Must be for better run blocking..

Or wait, maybe they are gonna release Fasano like the OP said on sundays thread ..

Well I doubt we release our only good TE but Nalbone is definately not good and Haynos only had a catch because of a trick play. Haynos and Nalbone are not good players at this pont.
We did not just work out Pascoe for nothing

who the heck is this guy? Another team castoff?
"He's a smart guy, a tough guy, a passionate guy," general manager Scot McCloughan said. "What he does is important to him. He understands what it's all about. He's not just a blocking tight end. He's the entire tight end we're looking for. He'll be a better blocker before he's a receiver. The good thing with Bear is he's going to be a good blocker early and he'll catch some balls for us, too."

Steelers Work Out TE

Bear Pascoe Profile

The Pittsburgh Steelers, perhaps looking for depth at tight end, worked out free-agent Bear Pascoe on Friday, Scout.com has confirmed through a league source.

Pascoe was believed in league circles to be the best blocking tight end available for the 2009 draft.

The former Fresno St. University Bulldog was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth-round.

I agreew with that, Nalbone simply sucks and Haynos is a marginal player.. he's a big target though so I think the coaching staff still wants to try to see what he can offer.

I don't understand Martin. We put him on IR becuase we were afraid he'd get injured?? Didn't hear about him missing all that much camp and he played in all of the preseason games I think. Afraid of him getting injured with 1 TE that was a questionable move to say the least. Kind of reminds me when our FO kept picking up offensive lineman, throwing them into live action then getting rid of them (that McChesney dude).

Martin had fluid on his knee that the trainers said would require surgery and cost him at least 8 weeks.

Nalbone may block ok but he can't catch a cold. I was surprised we kept him.

We should just sign this guy because his name is Bear Pascoe. Legendary. :p
