Fire Sale Everyone Must go!

this post is stupid yeah lets trade all our talent and start over and then lets try to find those pieces again and trade away picks for other proven players and hope that goes well.

lets be like the rams and get sam bradford killed without a good LT/WR to help out our QB.

We should NOT trade Long , Marshall , Dansby , Daniel Thomas , Reggie Bush, Vontae Davis ( he will be in a contract year next year with a good oc and a half smart qb he will be a playmaker) the rest i could care less

You're crazy.

Big Jake and Brandon Marshall are elite talents at their positions. You can't blame them for dogging it for a lame duck coach.

Sorry, you can blame them. They are both being paid an average of $10M per year, and they have both been terrible through 4 games. Terrible. Jake Long got schooled by Larry English today. Larry English hadn't done a damn thing in his NFL career until today.

Trade Marshall this week if we can, stockpile picks.

Marshall sucks but has value in name still

love the gm's on here. emotional just like a woman.

one slow brick at a time. one brick at a time. we currently are finding out the dogs. the dogs must go.

I keep hartline, bess, moore, moore, wallace, Long (you need a LT to protect your newly drafted Qb...duh), pouncey or any new player with time on their contract thats worthy. Guys like Langford you see what you can get in trade. Starx same thing. Same thing for any player and you have to draft bigtime good!

Langford is a free agent. no team will trade for him

Left tackles don't grow on trees....anyone who thinks we should get rid of Jake Long is either still drunk from today or just plain stupid. How many years were fans SCREAMING for a LT after Webb retired?? Who cares what he costs? You're not going to rebuild by paying everyone the NFL minimum....and you need a vet at LT to keep your rookie QB from getting killed and gunshy ala David Carr.

And this team is young (only 6 players on the entire roster are 30 or older, one of them being our long snapper)....you can't tear apart all the talent you have....and talent we do have. You just have to supplement it with the right experienced free agents/draft picks and a PROPER coaching staff. Sparano is terrible. The oline coaching is terrible. The secondary is terrible.

As much as anyone might like a fire sale, it just doesn't work that way. You can't trade everyone or release all the players that are not performing at a high level all at once ,than you may have only 6 or 7 players left. You only so many drafts and if you have crappy players, you aren't going to get draft picks. So even though you might want to get rid of everyone, realistically that is'nt going to happen.

What a shortsighted thread. The problem can be summed up in one word, COACHING. People underestimate what a solid coaching staff can do. Players can talk all they want, but they are just pieces of a puzzle and its the coaching staff that is responsible or putting the puzzle pieces together to form an efficient team. The Pats (aside from Brady) are a solid team, nothing more, nothing less. Bellichick coaches like Shula did, he demands smart football with NO mental mistakes.
Sparano is a disaster and does not have an attention to detail.

What's the saying ?
Don't throw out the baby with the bath water or something like that.

We'll have to field a team next year so we need to keep some core guys like ff 54 mentioned.
Odds are none of them will be around long anyways.

Whom ever the new coach is will want his guys. He'll get them in the draft and through trades / free agents. All the schemes , O and D will probably change and personell that fit them will be brought in. How many are left from Cam's team now ? YB and Jason. That's how it will be with the new guy.

A good coach can probably get a lot more out of the players anyways. (previous post)

I wont even try and argue with the absurdity behind throwing away pro-bowl players that are under the age of 30.

I will merely ask this: if they aren't worth keeping on one of the worst teams in the NFL, what makes you think other teams will burn first and second round picks for these players?

While I am overall disgusted with this team at the moment, I have to respectfully disagree with the sentiment. It has taken us years, many millions of dollars, and a lot of trading/scouting/drafting to acquire the talent we have, and it is just that TALENT.

Guys like Long, Marshall, Wake, Bess, etc. are not dime a dozen players. Clearly there are problems greater than just the players, look no further than video of the end of last season to see our dominate defense, these are the same guys. Nothing has changed. Look at our laughably bad 2007 team, and with only a handful of new players look at our 2008 team.

With the acquisition of a new front office, and an ELITE QB, I 100% guarantee you will see a MASSIVE change in this team, and will be thrilled to have many of the players we do.

I certainly don't agree with players like Marshall throwing tamtrums after losing, but at the same time you have to look at things in perspective. Football is a young man's game, this isn't the kind of thing you can do your whole life. For a guy like Marshall he has maybe 8-10 years left if he's lucky, and he wants to win, can you really blame him? If you knew you were one of the best WRs in the game and your talent was being wasted on a mediocre team with a terrible QB would you be happy about it?

We get someone with a winning mentality, a real hard nose coach like Cowher in here, with a young hungry QB like Luck, and we become a contender virtually overnight, bank on it.

Chubbs,
.

I think Dansby has to go. He's getting too much $ and while he's played well there's no point in having an aging Pro Bowl caliber ILB with a team that can't contend.

.

Dansby has never made the pro bowl and is getting top inside lb money

Like I said stupid thread. Lets see how many champions have started over and gotten rid of all their talent to win a championship in any sports organization.

I was laughed at for making this thread last week. LMAO

Id get rid of everyone but Long and Pouncey to have a foundation of a line for Luck.

Tank the season, draft Luck and have a ton of 2nd-3rd-4th round picks for a new GM to play with.

Id only trade Long if I got an insane offer for him like two 1st rounders or a first and a couple 2nds.

By the time this team is reayd to be good all these guys with value now will be old and have a lot less value.

Dansby
Wake(almost 30)
Marshall
Starks

Just unload and load up on picks.
