Firing Philbin Won't Solve Our Problems

I agree. The qb and roster is the problem. We desperately need a good GM. Firing Hickey and Tbum would be the step in the right direction.

We could fire Philbin and still go 3-13 . . . . I think the point of firing him is . . . . the team looks "finished" with him as the head coach and there is no reason to keep this going until the end of the year. You are about to enter a 2 week period of no football and tons of speculation. Naming a guy like Rizzi the intermin head coach while firing Philbin/Coyle would immediately put some life back into the players and the fanbase for the next 3 quarters of the season.

Joe is toast, don't need to see this train wreck of a coach anymore.

It may not solve any problems but itll be a start, i see it as addition by subtraction

it is painfully obvious the team has quit on philbin, therefore he HAS to go.. maybe it's only coyle today but by the end of the year it will be Philbin too

Nope.

Our problem is a cultural problem. Once people get a taste of Miami, they get soft.

Miami has changed so much since the 1980's.

It will solve many problems. The article is wrong. For all of his faults there is no reason this team cannot win with Tannehill.

Disagree. The HC makes a huge difference. It's a matter of discipline and mental preparedness.
You cannot assess this team until there is a change in leadership

Depressing but accurate article (skip to the 2nd section on the Dolphins): http://grantland.com/the-triangle/week-4-wrap-the-haves-vs-the-have-nots/

It won't solve the problems but It sure as hell would get the ball rolling in the right direction. Firing him now would let the world know BEFORE ANY OTHER TEAM that the Job is open. There's this not so unspoken rule that coaches don't like discussing Jobs when the team has a head coach so firing Phil now would let allow us to openly conduct a search while someone servers as interim. I don't care who coaches the team... we can't look any worst than we do now.

Locker room man.... If you think we don't have the talent then you don't know football. Miami has been soft for years. Thanks to our coaches. That locker room has to be the most depressing sh*t ever.

Have you guys seen Philbin's locker room speeches? BRUTAL!

Either way...86 the coaches and the fan base has a temporary relief.....and at best were back to mediocrity

Keep the coaches and were in the continuous conundrum of fighting to stay out of the basement but most likely a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.

Our excitement will only come in the off season and continuing on this course were on, though painful, may be the best thing to happen to us if the owner can muster a smidgen of sense.............. which is probably the biggest question we have to face
