Firing Sparano Doesn't Solve The Main Problem

The other day I was asked whether I would want Sparano or Saban as the Fins HC. The fact that I even had to think about it frightened me. Firing Sparano may not be the main problem but but it would be leaps and bounds in the right direction of solving a big problem.

Firing Sparano doesn't solve the problem or even get us in the right direction of solving the problem until we know who is going to replace him.

Saban replaced Wannstedt...problem not solved
Cameron replaced Saban...problem not solved
Sparano replaced Cameron...problem still not solved.

What did you expect these guys to say, it was the Head coach?

I fear that if Sparano miraculously puts together a string of wins to end the season that Ross may keep him around, telling everyone, "I knew he was the best choice at coach."
So yes, firing him RIGHT NOW aleviates this scenario.

This is the problem exactly. It comes with identification of talent and the even bigger problem, usage of said talent.

I was one of the ones that held out hope, hope that the regime would learn and grow and wondrous things would evolve. You know what killed this trifecta.........?

Talent usage, there is no doubt that Sparano, Ireland and even Parcells found some good, solid NFL talent but the thing that killed them is their inability to adapt to the talent on the roster. New England (besides Brady) does this extremely well, Pittsburgh as well, they draft talented players and fit the system to the players. Parcells and Co. draft talented players and make the players fit the system (wrong approach in the modern NFL new Jack). Look at what New England did with Wilfork and Haynsworth, they moved out of a base 3-4 and adapted the D to get both players on the field at the same time.

Yeah the QB is the most important position and Miami needs a leader and face in the position but it also needs someone who understands that not every team is identical so no one system fits every roster. Pitt and NE do this very well over the course of years, Miami has floundered. The new regime needs to understand this lesson and adapt and overcome.
